Rob: Rob here at etrailer.com and today you're going to be taking a look at the Roadmaster automatic battery disconnect on our 2019 GMC Canyon. Now if you want to flat tow your GMC Canyon, they're going to be five components that you need for a full safe flat tow setup. The first one is going to be our base plate and that's going to mount directly to our frame so we have a solid connection point so we can hook up our tow bar. Now the tow bar's going to be the second component that hooks to your base plate and connects your Canyon to your motor home. Then we're going to have safety cables. And our safety cables are going to be a secondary safety device in case anything we're to happen to the tow bar, just like a trailer making sure that our Canyon doesn't go down the road. Then we're going to have our electrical connector, so we can have all the correct signals in the back. whether we're changing lanes or stopping. more

Roadmaster Flexo-Coil Kit Installation - 2019 GMC Canyon

Rob: Rob here at etrailer.com and today you're going to be taking a look at the Roadmaster 7-Wire to 6-Wire Flexo-Coil wiring kit. Now, our Flexo-Coil wiring kit is going to allow us to hook our motor home to our Canyons, so when we're flat towing it, the towed vehicle wiring has a connection point and it sends those signals. But for a full flat tow setup, you are going to need a base plate. Base plate's going to attach directly to the frame of your Canyon so you have a nice solid connection point for the tow bar. Now the tow bars are going to be the second component and that's going to attach to the base plate as well as your motor home so we can actually pull it down the road. Then we're going to have our safety cables, which is going to be a secondary safety device in case something we're to happen to the tow bar.Just like a trailer, this will prevent our Canyon from rolling down the road. Then we're going to have a braking system, which is going to allow the Canyon to slow itself down and stop itself, rather than fully relying on the motor home, putting all that extra strain and stress on the brakes because of the added weight. more
