Draw-Tite Sportframe Trailer Hitch Installation - 2018 Chevrolet Volt

Hello neighbors, it's Brad here at Etrailer. And today we're taking a look at installing a Draw-Tite class one trailer hitch receiver on a 2018 Chevrolet Bolt. Having a trailer hitch receiver on any vehicle really adds a lot of utility, whether it be pulling a small trailer or a bike rack, or even a cargo carrier, you're adding a lot of real estate and usability from your vehicle. And this one you can see here installed, does that without looking any different, really from OEM, except for the business end. You're gonna see that the cross tube is actually hidden behind the bumper here. So all you see is the receiver itself, so it gives it a nice OEM look. more

EcoHitch Invisi Trailer Hitch Installation - 2018 Chevrolet Volt

Hey everyone, Shane here with etrailer.com. Today I have a 2018 Chevrolet Volt, and I'm going to walk through how to install the EcoHitch Invisi trailer hitch receiver. When you're looking for a hitch for your Chevrolet Volt, backend sits a little bit low, when you compare this to the other two that are available, this one's not going to limit you to ground clearance. And it's going to be completely hidden when it's not in use. For this one, a receiver is actually going to be located right behind our license plate, where the other two, would come out down here at the bottom of our fascia. And as I've mentioned, they're going to limit you on a little bit of ground clearance, where this being up where it is we don't have that issue. more

Curt Trailer Hitch Installation - 2018 Chevrolet Volt

Rob: Rob here at etrailer.com, and today you're going to be taking a look at the Curt Class I Custom Fit Trailer Hitch Receiver on our 2018 Chevrolet Volt. Now, here's what our hitch is going to look like once we have it installed. You can see it's got a really nice clean, almost factory look to it because the crosstube is going to be completely hidden behind the bumper, and the only thing we're going to see is that receiver tube sticking out. Now, people commonly associate hitches with towing a trailer. Now, we can with this, but it's also going to alleviate a lot of the problems we have with a smaller car. We can free up some space on the inside by moving a lot of gear to the outside by mounting a cargo carrier, or if we want to hit the trails, we could put a bike rack in there and take our bikes with us. But however we're going to be using the hitch, all of our accessories are going to mount to the side using the hitch pinhole. The hitch is going to accept a standard 1/2" pin and clip. more

Trailer Hitch Installation - 2017 Chevrolet Volt 24947

Today on our 2017 Chevy Volt, we're going to be taking a look at installing the Draw-Tite Custom Fit Class 1 Trailer Hitch Receiver, part number 24947. Here's what our hitch looks like fully installed. The receiver tube is going to fit right below the bumper and that's really all you're going to see, giving it a nice clean look. Now, this is a Class 1 hitch, so it's going to have 1 1/4" by 1 1/4" receiver tube opening and this does use a standard 1/2" pin and clip which is not included, but you can pick one up on our website using part number PC2. Now, our safety chain loops, we're going to have a rolled steel stock welded underneath our receiver here, but as you can see, we've got plenty of room to get most size safety chains on or off without interfering with anything. As far as weight capacity concern, our hitch here features a 200 pound tongue weight which is going to be the force pushing down. It also features a 2,000 pound gross trailer weight which is the amount that it can pull. Now, I do want to mention, you always want to double check with your vehicle's owner's manual to make sure that your vehicle can handle that amount of weight. I'm going to give you two measurements to help you in deciding for new accessories for your new hitch, such as a bike rack or a cargo carrier. From the center of the hitch pin holes to the outermost edge of the bumper is 5 1/4". more
