Draw-Tite Trailer Hitch Installation - 2019 Chevrolet Impala

Hi there Impala owners. Today inaudible 00:00:02 2019 Chevrolet Impala. We're going to be taking a look at and showing you how to install Draw-Tite's one and a quarter inch trailer hitch receiver. And this is what our hitch looks like when it's installed. The cross beam, for the most part, is going to be tucked up behind the fascia, so you're really only going to notice the receiver here at the back. It's a class two, one and a quarter by one and a quarter receiver, so it's going to be great for light duty applications and accessories. If you have a bike rack you want to load in here, you can easily load it up with a couple of bikes or you can put a cargo carrier on here to help take some of the load inside of your vehicle from out of it. more

Best 2013 Chevrolet Impala Trailer Hitch Options

Rob: Rob here at etrailer.com, and today we're going to be taking a look at the best hitch options for your 2000 through 2013 Chevrolet Impala. Up top here, we're going to have our CURT, which is going to be a Class 2. Then right below that, we're going to have our Draw-Tite, which is also going to be a Class 2.If I we're looking for a hitch for my Impala, I would go with the Draw-Tite, but let's take a closer look at both of our hitches. Now the first thing you might notice is that both of our hitches are going to look very similar and have a very similar design. That's partially because they're going to install exactly the same way. They're going to use factory mounting locations and we're not going to have to drill or cut anything, but we are going to have to fish wire some hardware in place and lower our exhaust. One of the only differences that you're really going to notice is going to be the collar on the end of the receiver tube. more

There are two existing holes here and here, on the bottom of the vehicle that are already drilled out. But we still have to enlarge these to 1/ 2 inch. And also, on this first cross member in the back, before the spare tire well, is going to be an existing hole here and here. And just to make things easy too, you can actually hold up the hitch, center it and it will show you which holes to drill out. Alright, let us get going and drill out all of the holes we need. 0:56 more

We are looking at the driver side of the frame rail here. And this is where the hitch is going to install, on these two existing holes right here. Okay, and also at the cross number at the rear of the vehicle, this hardware is going to be installed using this existing hole also. Going over to the passenger side is going to be identical except we are going to have to lower the exhaust to get access to that side. All right, we will go ahead and unbolt the bracket. All right next we are going to install a strap to control the exhaust and we will take down this back rubber hanger too to give us a little more room. more

First we will show you where the hitch mounts up to the frame of the vehicle. The hitch is going to mount up to the bottom frame of the vehicle here and here. And then also it is going to mount to the outside hole here from a crossmember, one on both sides. And on the passengers side frame, it is going to be the same existing holes, but right now they are covered up by the exhaust. So that means that the next step is going to be to lower the exhaust. Trailer Hitch Installation - 2004 Chevrolet Impala 24681

Today we are going to be installing hitch part number 24681 from Draw-Tite on a 2004 Chevrolet Impala. You can see here at the bottom of the bumper there are two smaller holes that we are going to use as the rearmost attaching point. These two holes are going to need to be enlarged to 1/2 inch, and then we will feed our block and bolt into position. Also, a little bit forward here, you can see the main crossmember just rearward of the spare tire well. We are going to use the outboard holes on each side as the forwardmost attaching points. To get our hardware into this position, we are going to need to fish wire our bolt and block through this larger access hole here toward the end of the crossmember. So the first thing we are going to do is go ahead and fish the bolts and hardware into the forward crossmember, and then we will enlarge our holes here at the rear. In order to fish the bolts into this forwardmost crossmember, I am going to take a standard piece of what is called "stove wire," and what I am going to be doing is go ahead and feed it through the hole that we are going to be putting the hardware in and back out through the access hole here at the end of the crossmember. From there, we are going to take our 7/16 block and our 7/16 carriage bolt and we are going to feed it through the frame. What we are want to do is just feed the stove wire through the block and then we are just going to take and wrap the threads of the bolt with it. And then from there we can just feed the block into the crossmember, followed by the bolt, and we will just pull that into position. Okay, and we are going to do the very same thing here on the driver's side. more

Trailer Hitch Installation - 2007 Chevrolet Impala- Video

Trailer Hitch Installation - 2007 Chevrolet Impala

Today we are going to install part number 90137 on a 2007 Chevrolet Impala. And this also applies to part number, from Draw-Tite, 36407. First we will show you where the hitch mounts up on the vehicle. It is going to mount up on the frame here - we are showing the drivers side. You use these two existing holes in the frame, and also this outside hole in the frame here, too. It will be the same thing on the passengers side. However, we are going to have to temporarily lower this exhaust so we have working room to get up in there. And then the exhaust will go back up when we are done. OK, we have got our exhaust down all the way now, and we will use our strap to pull it off to the side, and we will go ahead and start installing our hardware. What is going to happen is these plates and bolts will go inside this hole here and come out this hole and this hole. It is going to be pretty simple. We are going to run our bolt leader from one, out our access hole. Slide it on our plate - just pop that inside. And then screw on the bolt, pop it into place and back through. OK, we will do the same thing for the hole outside here, too. Same principle: just go through one hole and back out our access hole. This will use two of the longer of the six bolts. At this point, we can go ahead and install our hitch, since we have got all our hardware installed. more
