Draw-Tite I-Command Trailer Brake Controller Installation - 2019 Chrysler Pacifica

Rob: Hey, everybody, Rob here at etrailer.com. Today, we're going to be taking a look at the Draw-Tite-I-Command Proportional Brake Controller on our 2019 Chrysler Pacifica. Now here's what our brake controller's going to look like. It is a traditional style brake controller, so we're going to have a small box that's going to mount to the dash. Now, I like it because it is really easy to read, and we do have a fairly good amount of space right underneath our ignition switch here, to put a brake controller.I'm not that tall, but I still have plenty of room, so I'm not going to hit my knee on it or anything, but you just want to keep in mind, this is going to take up a little bit of space here. Now our Draw-Tite is a proportional brake controller, and what that means is, it's going to apply the brakes to our trailer in the same time and intensity then we apply the brakes on our Pacifica. If I we're to ease into a stop, and slowly press on the brakes, it's going to lightly apply the brakes to the trailer. But at the same time, if we have a panic stop, or we smash on the brakes really quick, it's going to apply a lot more pressure, and a lot quicker to the brakes in our trailer. It's not going to be like the old time delayed style, where you press on the brake, and then it's just going to have a preset amount of time that it'll wait. more

Speaker 1: Today on our 2018 Chrysler Pacifica we're going to be installing Tekonsha Primus IQ trailer brake controller. Part number TK90160. And to help us complete this installation, we'll be using eTrailer's universal installation wiring kit, part number ETBC7.This brake controller is going to proportionally send brake signal back to your trailer breaks. That means the harder you stop, the inertial sensor in here with detect the vehicle coming to a stop and will apply the brakes appropriately, depending on how hard you're stopping. It has a manual slider here and when you press on this you can manually apply the brakes. You can adust the sensitivity here for how hard you want it to be. It's easiest to see that sensitivity adjustment while holding over the manual slider. more

Trailer Brake Controller Installation - 2005 Chrysler Pacifica

Today on our 2005 Chrysler Pacifica, we're going to be taking a look at and installing the TrailerMate X10 Trailer Brake Controller, part number TM75813, in conjunction with the Universal Trailer Brake Controller Wiring Kit, part number ETBC7. Here's what this brake controller is going to look like once it's installed on the vehicle. This is a proportional brake controller, so it's going to send the amount of power back to the brakes relative to how hard you're pushing on the brakes in the vehicle. It's a nice, simple design. It definitely takes care of making sure that you're going to be able to stop with that trailer behind you. It's got a nice LCD screen right here that's going to help give you the readout so you know what your power level's at. Then, this knob up here on top is going to allow you to adjust your power level for what's being sent back to the trailer when you apply the brakes in the vehicle. more
