Trailer Wiring Harness Installation - 2004 Ford Freestar 56073

Today on our 2004 Ford Freestar, we'll be installing the Curt T Connector Vehicle Wiring Harness for factory tow package four pole flat trailer connector. It's part number 56073. To begin our install, we'll start underneath the vehicle near the center, just behind the rear bumper. Here we can locate the manufacturer's tow port and remove it from the bumper panel. We'll use our trim panel tool or a flat bladed screwdriver. Once removed, we'll then need to remove the weather cap off the connector. To do this, I'll just use a flat bladed screwdriver and pry back the locks in the weather cap and then remove it. more

Trailer Wiring Harness Installation - 2005 Ford Freestar

Today on this 2005 Ford Freestar we are going to install part number 118385 from Tow Ready. The first thing we need to do is get inside the vehicle and remove some interior panels and also the taillights. What is going to happen is we are going to remove the panel for the jack storage. We are going to loosen this panel up and the opposite panel on the other side. Alright, now we will remove the panel here. We will use a trim panel tool to help pop up the latches and work our way across. Ok, let us loosen up these interior panels. We do not have to take them off just loose enough to work with. And now we can go ahead and loosen up the taillights. Now we will go ahead and remove the taillights. It is kind of tricky. Kind of pull down a little bit on the top, loosen them up and then pull out on the outside edge. We are just going to let that sit along the side for now, just like that. We just got done with the passenger side. We will do the same thing with the driver side. 1:01 more
