Trailer Wiring Harness Installation - 2012 Dodge Journey- Video

Trailer Wiring Harness Installation - 2012 Dodge Journey

Today on our 2012 Dodge Journey we will be installing the tow-ready T-1 vehicle wiring harness, part number 118536. To begin our install, we will first open up the rear hatch. We will need to access the wiring behind the tail lights. To remove the tail light assemblies, remove the two push-pin fasteners on each side. To remove the push-pin fasteners, we will generally pry out on the center of the fastener and then remove the fastener completely. Once we remove the two push-pin fasteners, we will gently pop the tail light assembly out of its position, releasing the alignment tabs underneath, being careful not to break them. Now with one side done, we will go ahead and repeat the same process on the other side. Now we have access to both tail light wiring assemblies. Starting on the driver's side, we will begin routing our new tow-ready T-1 wiring harness. We will take the green wire connector and feed it between the rear fascia or buffer cover and the body or sheet metal of the vehicle. We will repeat the same process with our four-pole connector. more
