Today we're going to be taking a look at the eTrailer Class III Custom Fit Trailer Hitch Receiver on our 2005 Toyota Highlander.Now this is what our hitch is going to look like once we have it installed. Now you can see, you can see the cross-tubes spanning from side to side so it is going to sit right below the bumper but it does have that really nice flat black carbide finish to it. It blends in really nicely at the bottom.Now our hitch is a Class III which means it's going to give us that 2" x 2" receiver tube opening so we're going to have a really wide variety, when it comes to accessories, that we can mount up. Maybe we need to make some room on the inside of our Highlander. We can put that gear on the outside with a cargo carrier. more

Best 2005 Toyota Highlander Trailer Hitch Options

Speaker 1: Today on our 2005 Toyota Highlander we'll be having a look at our best hitch options. We have two hitches here today. They are both Class 3 hitches. On the top we have the CURT, part number 13530. On the bottom we have the Draw-Tite, part number 75153.The first biggest difference that we found between our two hitches here is in regards to weight capacity. Now while they both have a 350 pound max tongue weight rating and a 3,500 pound max gross trailer weight rating, the Draw-Tite hitch here does not support the use of weight distribution, whereas the CURT hitch does. more

Today on our 2005 Toyota Highlander, we'll be installing the Draw-Tite Hitch part number 75153. This is what our hitch will look like once it's installed. Next we'll go ahead and give you a couple of measurements to assist you with selecting accessories for your new hitch. From the center of the hitch pin hole to the outermost edge of the bumper is one inch. From the top of the inside of the receiver tube opening to the ground is 14 and a quarter inches. This will assist you in selecting accessories such as a ball mount, bike rack, or cargo carrier. Now let's go ahead with installation. more

Today on our 2005 Toyota Highlander, we'll be installing the Curt hitch, part number 13530. This is what our hitch will look like once it's installed. Next, we'll go ahead and give you a couple measurements to assist you with selecting accessories for your new hitch. From the center of the hitch pinhole to the outer most edge of the bumper, it's 2 inches. To the top of the insider receiver tube opening to the ground is 13 inches. This will assist you with selecting accessories such as a ball mount, bike rack, or cargo carrier. more
