Trailer Hitch Installation - 2011 Subaru Forester - Draw-Tite

Today on our 2011 Subaru Forester we're going to be taking a look at and installing the Draw-Tite Class 2 1-1/4 trailer hitch receiver, Part Number 36521. This fully welded Class 2 Draw-Tite trailer hitch receiver is going to be ideal for light-duty towing and carrying accessories such as bike racks or cargo carriers. It features a 3,500 max gross trailer weight rating and a 300 pound max tongue weight rating. That weight is going to be the weight pushed down on the inside of the receiver tube. It has a welded on reinforced collar and a fully welded on quake for durability. Here on the bottom we have a welded on loop for our safety chains. We'll give you some measurements just to help you when picking out accessories for your hitch like ball mounts, bike racks or cargo carriers. From the center of the hitch pin hole to the outside edge of the bumper is about 6-1/4 inches. From the inside top edge of the receiver down to the ground measures about 13-1/2 inches. To begin our install we're going to get our car ready for our hitch. more

Today on our 2011 Subaru Forester, we will be taking a look at and installing the current class 2 1-1/4" hitch receiver. Part number C12047. The current class 2 trailer hitch receiver, is perfect for light duty towing or carrying accessories. Such as cargo carriers or bike racks. Please note when carrying a non trailer load, it's recommended that you use the current stabilization strap and you can find that at etrailer.com. It has gross trailer weight rating of 3,500 lbs and the tongue weight rating of 350 lbs, that's going to be the weight pushed down on the bottom of the hitch here. It the include a hitch fitting clip for your half inch pin hole. more

This fully welded Draw-Tite trailer hitch receiver is going to be ideal for light duty towing or carrying accessories such as cargo carriers or bike racks. It has a maximum gross trailer weight rating of 2,000 pounds and a max tongue weight of 200 pounds. That's going to be the weight pushed down on the bottom of the inside of the receiver tube opening. It features a 1/2" pinhole for a 1/2" pin and clip. It's sold separately. more

Today on this 2011 Subaru Forester, we're going to install part number 87493 from Hidden Hitch. This is what the hitch looks like once installed on the Forester. Next we'll give you some measurements to help you in selecting some accessories, such as a ball mount, a bicycle rack or a cargo carrier. From the top of receiver opening down to the ground will be about fourteen inches. From the center of the hitch pin hole to the edge of the bumper will be about six inches. I'll go ahead and show you how the hitch is installed. First thing you do is get the exhaust out of the way. There's a couple ways of doing it. more

Today on this 2011 Subaru Forester we're going to install part number 75650 from Draw-Tite. This is what the hitch looks like once installed on the Forester. Next we'll give you some measurements to help you out in selecting some accessories such as a ball mount, a bicycle rack, or a cargo carrier. From top of receiver opening down to the ground will be about 14 inches. From the center of the hitch pin hole to the edge of the bumper will be about 6 inches. Now we'll go ahead and show you how the hitch is installed. First thing we need to do is get the exhaust out of the way. There's a couple ways of doing it. You can go ahead and spray down the rubber hangers here and slide them off or you can just take off the mufflers completely, which is what we're going to do. more

Today were working on 2011 Subaru Forester. Were going to install current Hitch part numbers 13147. Here are couple of measurements that will assist you in selecting accessories for your new hitch. From the center of the hitch pinhole to the outermost point of the bumper is four inches. From the top to the receiver tube to the ground is 15 inches. Now lets go ahead with the installation. more
