Curt Trailer Hitch Installation - 2015 Mazda CX-9

Narrator Today on our 2015 Mazda CX-9, we'll be installing the CURT trailer hitch receiver, Class 2 with an 1-1/4" opening, part #C12112. Now as you see here, this is what our hitch looks like on our Mazda CX-9. Things are very tucked nicely, up underneath the bumper cover, and attached up to the frame. The nice thing about this hitch: extremely, extremely easy to install. All you have to do: lift your hitch up and install the hardware into the frame, into the built-in well nuts, tighten and torque, and you're ready to hit the road. I see there's a nice black powder coat finish; that's gonna resist rush and corrosion. more

Best 2015 Mazda CX-9 Hitch Options

Today on our 2015 Mazda CX9 we'll be looking at our best hitch options. We have three hitches here today, on the top we have the Curt Class 3, part number 13575. The middle one here is a Draw-Tite, Class 3, part number 75531. Finally, on the bottom is a Curt Class 2, part number C12112. You may notice our Curt hitches have a rectangular steel construction, whereas our Draw-Tite hitch here is a round tubular design. It doesn't make much of a difference there at all. It's jut personal preference and how you would like them to look. more

Trailer Hitch Installation - 2015 Mazda CX-9 - Curt

Today on our 2015 Mazda CX9 we'll be installing the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver with Class 3, part number 13575. This is what our Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver looks like on our Mazda CX9. As you can see, it's a nice square tube, that the arms are tucked underneath to the frame rails. It has a nice black powder-coat finish here that's going to resist rust and corrosion over time. The good thing about this hitch, really easy to install. Your frame has all the built-in weld nuts so all you have to do is hold the hitch up and install the hardware that comes with the kit. This is a 2-inch by 2-inch opening here and it is a Class 3 hitch that's capable of 400 pounds of tongue weight and 4,000 pounds of towing capability. You'll want to go ahead and check your owner's manual to double-check that and you'll want to go with the lowest weight that either your vehicle or the hitch says. You have nice access to the tow rings for your safety chains and your 5/8ths pin hole for your hitch pin. more
