Curt Trailer Hitch Installation - 2019 Mazda CX-5- Video
Rob: Hey, everybody. It's Rob here at etrailer.com and today we're going to be taking a look at the CURT class 2 custom-fit trailer hitch receiver on our 2019 Mazda CX-5. Now I know everybody wants to see what it's going to look like on their vehicle, we can go over some of the features, but if you do stick around to the end of the video, we are going to go over the installation process so you can have the confidence to do it at home.Our CURT hitch is a class 2, so it's going to give us that inch and a quarter by inch and a quarter receiver tube opening and as you can see, it has a really clean look on the car. We don't have a big bar sticking underneath, and that's because the cross tube is going to be hidden behind the bumper, and the only thing we are going to see is the receiver tube sticking out.Now, since it is a class 2, it does have a somewhat smaller receiver tube so there's a smaller footprint and again it's a little bit less conspicuous than the larger hitches on there. Now, usually when people think of a trailer hitch, they automatically think of pulling a trailer, and you absolutely can. You can put a ball mount in there and easily tow a trailer with your CX-5. more

Now I know everybody wants to see what it looks like and go over some of the features. But if you do stick around to the end of the video, we are going to show you how to go through the installation process so you can have the confidence to do it at home. I think our hitch here does have a really nice clean appearance to it. And that's mainly because of the cross tubes hidden behind the bumper here. So we're not going to have a big bar hanging down below, taking away from the aesthetics of our Mazda. more

Ryan: Hey everybody, Ryan here at Etrailer today on our 2019 Mazda CX-5, we're going to be taking a look at and showing you how to install the Curt trailer hitch receiver.But what I really like about this hitch is that for the most part, it's going to be completely hidden. Really the only thing you're going to be able to see is a receiver tube opening and it's almost going to look like it's part of your car.Now, what kind of separates us is the finish. It's going to have more of a gloss black finish, and in my opinion, it stands out a little bit more. But if that's the look you're going for, then this'll be a great choice for you.Many of our CX-5 customers plan on using their hitch for accessories like cargo carriers and bike racks, let's get to work really good for those and that's really because it's going to give us a good bumper clearance. So what I mean by that, the end of the receiver tube opening is going to sit just behind our bumper and really give us a space we need to use our folding accessories without having to worry about them contacting the back of our Mazda.So this is a class three hitch, so it's going to give us a 2 inch by 2 inch receiver tube opening and a reinforced collar for extra strength. It's going to have the standard 5/8 size pin hole. more

Out of the other hitches available. In my opinion, this one is my favorite, really for a couple of different reasons, the main one being its carbide matte black finish. It really matches the bottom of her bumper nicely. It almost has that same texture even. more

Best 2019 Mazda CX-5 Trailer Hitch Options- Video
Today, we're going to be taking a look at the best hitch options for your 2019 Mazda CX-5. Here we have the two most popular options. Up top here, we're going to have the Draw-Tite. Down here, we're going to have the Curt.Here we have the Draw-Tite installed on our Mazda CX-5, but I do want to mention that both the Curt and the Draw-Tite are going to sit about the same, and the cross tube is going to be hidden nicely behind the bumper. The main thing we're going to see is the receiver tube sticking out.The first difference you're going to notice right away is how they look. Our Draw-Tite is much narrower than our Curt, and that's because they're going to mount slightly differently than each other. more
