Trailer Hitch Installation - 2009 Ford Van - Draw-Tite

Speaker 1: Today on our 2009 Ford van we're going to be taking a look at and showing you how to install the Draw-Tite Class V Custom Fit Trailer Hitch Receiver, part number 41945.My overall impression of the hitch is that it is an extremely heavy duty hitch. We're going to be able to tow a rather heavy trailer and not have to worry about the tongue weight on it. At the same time, we're going to have the versatility to add a bike rack or a cargo carrier to free up some space inside our van.It is a class V, it is going to sit right below the bumper and that cross tube is going to be visible. It's going to give us a 2 inch by 2 inch receiver tube opening. We're going to have a lot of different options available for any kind of accessory that we want to mount ranging from a ball mount, bike rack, or a cargo carrier. The way we're going to mount all of our accessories is going to be the hitch pin hole here, which is going to be towards the front. It's going to accept the standard 5/8 pin and clip. more

Trailer Hitch Installation - 2009 Ford Van - Curt

Today on the 2009 Ford E350 Van, we'll be taking a look at and installing the CURT Custom Fit Class IV Trailer Hitch Receiver, part number 14055. Here's what our receiver hitch is going to look like once it's installed on our vehicle. You're going to see that it's going to stick out a little bit on that backside just because it is a van and doesn't have that recessed bumper like most vehicles do. It's going to give you that extra movement and ability to put things on the back without it meeting up right on the backside of the vehicle. Total distance that it's going to stick out is going to be about 3-5/8 inches. Now, you can see that it's going to have that fully welded construction, that black powder-coat finish to help prevent any kind of rust and corrosion. You're going to have that plate steel on the bottom to add extra strength and durability. That's also going to double as chain tie-downs on either side. You're going to have that 5/8 inch pin hole going all the way through and your 2 inch x 2 inch receiver tube opening for all your attachments. more
