Speaker 1: Today we're going to be taking a look at the best hitch options for our 2012 Dodge Avenger. The best options for our Dodge Avenger are going to be our Draw-Tite and our Curt. While these are very similar, there are a few subtle differences between the two. When it comes to clearances, that's going to go to our Draw-Tite. It's going to have 1/2" better clearance in both directions, which will come in handy when choosing your accessories.When it comes to appearance, that's going to go to our Curt. It seems to have a little bit nicer of a finish on it and the reinforced collar really makes it look nicer off the back end.The main differences between these two hitches is the clearances. more

Speaker 1: Today in our 2012 Dodge Avenger, we're gonna be installing the Curt Class One 1-1/4" Trailer Hitch Receiver. Part number C11133. This is what our hitch is gonna look like installed on our vehicle. The crossbar's gonna be hidden beneath the bumper, so you're only gonna be able to see the receiving tube, and the safety chain loops.This Class 1 1-1/4" Receiver is gonna be great for hooking up bike racks, cargo carriers, or very light towing. It uses a 1-1/2 hitch pinning clip, the loop style safety chain loops have a large opening, which will accommodate just about any size safety chain. It features a 200 pound tongue weight, which is the force going down on top of the receiver, and a 2000 pound gross trailer weight. more

Speaker 1: Today in our 2012 Dodge Avenger, we're going to be installing the Draw-Tite Class One, 1 1/4" trailer hitch receiver, part number 24871. This is what our hitch is going to look like on our vehicle. As you can see, the cross tube is hidden behind the buffer, so you're really only going to be able to see the receiving tube and safety chain loops. It's a class one, 1 1/4" receiver, which is going to be great for hooking up bike racks, cargo carriers, and for very light towing. It uses a 1 1/2" hitch pin and clip.
