Trailer Hitch Installation - 2013 Chevrolet Traverse - Draw-Tite

Today on our 2013 Chevrolet Traverse, we will be installing the draw-tight hitch, part number 75528. Here's what the hitch looks like installed on our vehicle. Now we'll go ahead and give you a couple of measurements in helping you select some accessories for your hitch, such as a ball-mount, bicycle rack, or cargo carrier. From the center of the hitch pin hole to the edge of the bumper is approximately 6-3/4". From the top of the opening of the hitch to the ground is approximately 18-1/2". Now we will go ahead and install our hitch. First we will go ahead and show you the attachment points where the hitch will actually attach to the vehicle. Next we'll go ahead and locate the hangars that need to be removed to lower the exhaust out of the way. Before removing any of the exhaust hangars, we will go ahead and install a safety strap to help support the exhaust once the exhaust hangars have been removed. To get the exhaust hangars off, it helps if you use a little spray lubricant, as well as a pry bar or a large flat-head screwdriver. Now that we have all the exhaust hangars removed and the exhaust is lowered out of the way, we will go ahead and remove the rear fascia panel. To do that, you will see that there are two plastic tabs on the underside of the rear fascia that need to be turned. You will pull down and out towards the back of the vehicle and the rear-center section of the fascia will be removed. Next, we'll need to go ahead and clean out the four weld nuts that are in the vehicle. more
