Trailer Hitch Installation - 2014 Ford Van - Draw-Tite

Today on a 2015 Ford Van, we're going to review and install a class 5, 2" receiver hitch, part number 41945. The hitch itself is created from a really big and really thick tube construction, going all the way across both sides of the frame. If we take a look at the receiver section, itself is actually built a little bit different material than the steel. This is actually a cast steel assembly right here, which makes a lot stronger than a a regular steel stock that you see on other hitches. With this enhanced receiver, you get a reinforced ring right here for your hitch can hold. On traditional hitches, made out of regular steel, over time if you use industrial application, the holes will actually wallow out and you'll get a lot of slop with your receiver play. Same thing applies to the outside edge of your receiver opening as well. more

Total distance that it's going to stick out is going to be about 3-5/8 inches. Now, you can see that it's going to have that fully welded construction, that black powder-coat finish to help prevent any kind of rust and corrosion. You're going to have that plate steel on the bottom to add extra strength and durability. That's also going to double as chain tie-downs on either side. You're going to have that 5/8 inch pin hole going all the way through and your 2 inch x 2 inch receiver tube opening for all your attachments. more

Trailer Hitch Installation - 2001 Ford E-350 Van

Today on this 2001 Ford E-350 Van we are going to be installing Curt hitch part number 14055. We are underneath the vehicle and we are looking at the driver side frame rail. We want to go ahead and point out our mounting holes that we are going to be using to attach our hitch to the vehicle. If you look at the end of the frame rail, we have two existing round holes just rearward of the oblong hole. Those are going to be our two rearmost attaching points. And if you follow forward, you will see that there are two more holes just forward of the oblong hole. The forward most one is the one that we are going to be using as our third attaching point. And that is going to be the same on both the driver and passenger sides. 0:32 more
