Best 2014 Nissan Xterra Hitch Options

Today we're going to be taking a look at the best hitch options for your 2014 Nissan Xterra. The hitches we'll be looking at are the CURT class three hitch, part number 13514, and the Draw-Tite class three hitch, part number 75291. The first major difference that we're going to see between these two hitches are when the CURT's on there, it's a little bit more aesthetically pleasing than the Draw-Tite. Just with the way that this reinforcement collar is made and the plate that's along the top just helps give it a little bit cleaner look. Another major difference that you're going to see between these two is the safety chain connection points. Down here on the Draw-Tite we've got the plate-style with the oval holes cut in them. Those give us pretty good access for a lot of safety chain connections, but up here on the CURT we've got the rolled steel safety chain connections. more

Today we're taking a look at the best hitches available for the 2011 Nissan Murano. Our most popular hitches are going to be both a Curt Class III and a Draw-Tite Class III. The Curt Class III is part number 13577. The Draw-Tite part number is 75647. Now, both of these hitches are going to offer us the 2-inch by 2-inch receiver tube opening, and we're going to secure our items with a 5/8-inch diameter pinhole using class III accessories. A few of the visual difference that you're going to see, the most noticeable to me is that with our Draw-Tite we've got a rectangular cross tube and our fascia is going to sit right on top of our receiver tube. We're going to have a cross tube that's going to be completely hidden up behind our Draw-Tite, whereas with our Curt, we've got a rounded cross tube, and this is going to be visible from the outside all the way across. If you're looking to add just the least amount of hitch look to the back of your vehicle or you want it to be as hidden as possible, the Draw-Tite is an excellent decision. A few other small noticeable differences. more

Trailer Hitch Installation - 2016 Nissan Versa - Curt

Today on our 2016 Nissan Versa we're going to be taking a look at the and installing the CURT class one trailer hitch receiver, part number C11256. Here's what this hitch is going to look like once it's installed on the vehicle. As you can see, it's very well hidden right up under near the rear fascia here to where you can't see much other than the receiver tube opening and possibly the plate for the safety chain connection points here. With it being very well hidden, it's going to make sure that you're not going to accidentally hit your shin or anything on it. That's definitely a good thing. Then also how highly tucked up it is underneath here to make sure that it does stay hidden and maintains a very clean look for your vehicle. This hitch is going to be here when you need it for things like bike racks and cargo carriers. Here it's got the 1/2" hitch pinhole that's going to work well to secure your bike racks and cargo carriers. more

Today on our 2014 Nissan Maxima, we'll be installing the Draw-Tite sport frame class 1 trailer hitch receiver with an inch and a quarter opening, part number 24796. All right. Here's what our hitch looks like once it's been installed. As you can see, a very minimal amount hangs down below our vehicle here. We just have the rectangular construction of the frame and the inch and a quarter class 1 receiver here. Additionally, we have these really easy to use safe chain loops on the side of the receiver. They're really thin in diameter, so you can even fit the smallest of safety chains on here. This hitch has a max trailer weight rating of 2,000 pounds and a max tongue weight rating of 200 pounds. more

They are both class one hitches that are rated for 2000 pounds max trailer weight and 200 pounds max tongue weight rating. Now while these two hitches may look very similar in their design, they do mount entirely different to the vehicle. As far as ease of installation goes, if you've never reverse-fish-wired a bolt into a small cavity before, the Draw-Tite will be easier since you're just drilling a straight hole and you'll have easy access to drop the bolts down through. Now another main difference we have between the two hitches here is the way the safety chain cables can attach to. more

Another main difference we have between the two hitches here is the way the safety chain cables can attach to, and you see in the Draw-Tite here, it's a nice round, tubular construction there, so it'll be really easy to even fit the smallest diameter safety chain hooks onto, whereas the Curt, down here on the bottom, it has this angular plate that's welded to the bottom frame of the hitch and the receiver here, and the opening is a little bit tighter, especially here towards the sides, so if you have a small diameter safety chain hook, you may find it difficult to fit over that. Another key difference that I want to point out here today is if you look through the receiver of the Curt, it's completely open, it goes all the way through the back side, so if you have a long inch-and-a-quarter hitch-mounted accessory such as a bike carrier, or ball mount, or a cargo rack, things like that, it may not pose an issue for you on this one, since it's open, it may even stick out the back a little bit. However, the Draw-Tite here, as you can see, it is not completely open. more

Today on this 2016 Nissan Juke, we're going to review and install part number 24867 from Draw-Tite. This is their class One 1 1/4 receiver hitch. This is what the hitch looks like on our Nissan Juke. On first glance, you can see it sits relatively far back behind the bumper, probably at least a few inches or so. You also notice that the body does sit below the bumper, not tucked in behind it, so it does stay relatively hidden being reset so far back. This 1 1/4 inch opening right here and on the bottom here we have this ring here for safety chain hooks. We look right here, this is going to be our hitch pinhole and this used as a 1/2 inch diameter hitch pin or your favorite locking hitch pin. more

Trailer Hitch Installation - 2016 Nissan Altima - Draw-Tite

Today on our 2016 Nissan Altima, we're going to take a look at and also show you how to install the draw-tite sports frame class 1 trailer hitch receiver. This offers the inch and a quarter by inch and a quarter opening, its part number is 24796. All right, now here's what our hitch is going to look like installed on our Altima. As you can see, we kind of have that cross tube that's going to come across the rear here, not quite hidden up behind the inaudible 00:00:24 but I think standing behind the vehicle you're not going to see it too much. It's going to come to the center here where we've got our inch and a quarter by inch and a quarter receiver tube opening. It's a class 1 hitch, this is going to be perfect for your small hauling needs, smaller bike racks, smaller cargo carriers, things like that. See our safety chain connection loops around the bottom here that'll allow you to connect maybe a bike lock, safety chain connections, whatever you need, it's pretty nice and open. Now, to secure all your items, you're going to use the half inch diameter pinhole, this is going to work out really well for whatever class 1 accessory you should choose, there's plenty of room whether it's a locking hitch pin or anti-rattle bolt, whatever you might need. Now when it comes to weight ratings on our hitch, we have a 200 pound tongue weight rating, so that's the maximum downward force we can put here at the receiver tube opening, and it's going to give us a 2,000 pound gross trailer weight rating. That's going to be the total weight of our trailer and anything that we we're to load up on it. more

Now that we've got our 2 inch by 2 inch receiver tube opening, this is going to work out really well for your cargo carriers, ball mounts, bike racks, whatever needs you might have, and a reinforcement collar around the end here. It's got kind of more of the rounded edge to it, and it will be tucked in behind our bumper just a little bit here, so I don't think we'll have to worry about bumping into it with our knees or anything like that.
