So right here we have the Curt wiring kit, this one is the Tekonsha and this one here is the Hopkins kit. While they're all gonna get the job done, all utilize that factory connector plug to, you know send those signals out to your trailer, there are a few small differences and if you we're to ask me what one I personally would put on my own vehicle, I would either say the Tekonsha or the Curt. And really for one big reason and that's because the length of four-way flat wiring that you get is nice and long. more

Hey guys, it's Jake here with etrailer. Today we have a 2022 Ram 2500. We're gonna be taking a look at and I'm gonna show you how to install the Draw-Tite 5th wheel and Gooseneck In-bed Wiring Kit. Now, the biggest reason why people like to put a wiring kit in the bed of their truck is so that when you're hooking up to your 5th or your gooseneck you've got all the components in the bed of the truck that involve hooking up to your trailer. So you hook up to your 5th wheel or your gooseneck trailer and while you're in here making all your connections, you take your wire and you plug it right into the side of your truck. The only other option of plugging in a gooseneck or 5th wheel is to drape the 7-pole wire over your tailgate and plug it into the 7-pole down by your bumper. more

Bargman Custom Fit Vehicle Wiring Harness Installation - 2022 Ram 2500- Video
Hey guys, it's Jake here with etrailer. Today we have a 2022 Ram 2500, and we're gonna be taking a look at and I'm gonna show you how to install the Bargman fifth wheel and gooseneck in bed seven pole. Now, the biggest reason why you would want to install a seven pole in the bed of your truck is because when you're hauling a fifth wheel or a gooseneck, both of those are typically going to have your standard seven pole plug on 'em, and it's much more convenient to plug it in here and not have anything draping over the tailgate of your truck. Typically, what people do if they don't have in bed wiring is they'll run their seven pole from the gooseneck or fifth wheel over the the tailgate of their truck and plug it into their seven pole. Well, there's a couple of problems with that. If you're doing that on a regular basis, chances are at some point you're going to forget that it's plugged in and pull away with it still connected because the wiring will be looped down here, you could disconnect from your camper, or your gooseneck trailer and pull away and your wiring will still be underneath plugged in. more

So this is gonna plug into your OEM port here, and extend it out to the end of the hitch, so it's easier to add a seven-pole plug. Let's check it out. So if you wanted to add a seven-pole plug on the outside here at the bottom of your hitch, you wouldn't be able to reach it with your OEM plug. Curt 5th Wheel Gooseneck Wiring Harness Installation - 2017 Ford F-150- Video
Hello neighbors, it's Brad here at etrailer and today we're taking a look and installing the Curt custom in-bed wiring for fifth wheel and goosenecks on a 2017 Ford F150. If you have a gooseneck or fifth wheel, you have a seven pole from your trailer that you need to plug in and instead of draping it over your tailgate and trying to get into your factory seven way you can get this harness extension which plugs into your factory seven way and allows you to plug in in-bed making it nice and easy to have your plug right here. It's gonna keep that cable nice and protected in the bed as well. Super easy to do. You are gonna need to drill a hole and being that this is an aluminum bed, it's nice, they actually come with some zerk fittings that you're gonna put in there that will allow you to get this on your aluminum bed with no problem. It's not gonna cause any rust or corrosion long term. more

Hello, neighbors, it's Brad here at etrailer and today, we're taking a look at installing the CURT Trailer Wiring Harness on a 2022 Jeep Compass. Adding a four-pole trailer wiring to any vehicle with a hitch is always a great idea because even if you don't ever plan on pulling a trailer, to be able to hook up to one and have the light sequence work just in case of emergency is really nice. And it's really not too hard of an install because it's custom fit. That means that you are simply just going to plug it into your factory tail lights, and that makes it nice and easy on that part. You do have to run a power wire up to the front, but other than that, it's going to keep you safe and legal whenever you're planning on towing. And the reason being is it's tying into those light sequence. more

Hello neighbors, it's Brad here at etrailer and today we're taking a look at installing the Tekonsha four pole custom trailer wiring harness on a 2023 Honda Odyssey. Adding a hitch to any vehicle is definitely a great way to get your bike racks or cargo carriers around but a lot of times we don't think about when we need to tow in. Sometimes life brings us something where we do need to hook up to a trailer and go, and that's fine to have the hitch but if you don't have wiring, then your light sequences are not gonna work. So you're gonna be driving around illegally and unsafely. So adding a four-pole trailer wiring harness is a great addition to any hitch just in case you ever need to use it. And this one being a four pole means that you're gonna get your running lights, your turn signals and brake lights transmitted to your trailer. more

Now this is a custom fit harness that is designed to fit your 2007 to 2013 Mitsubishi Outlander. And this harness is going to give you a four-pole flat trailer connector at the back of your Outlander to power your trailer signal lights. This is also going to be compatible with five-pole, six-pole and seven pole adapters, and of course those adapters are sold separately. Curt 4-Way Flat Trailer Connector Installation - 2022 Mercedes-Benz GLC- Video
Hello neighbors, it's Brad here at etrailer and today we're taking a look at installing the Curt Universal Trailer Wiring Harness on a 2022 Mercedes-Benz GLC 300. Now right out the gate, I will recommend potentially picking up a different kit and reason being is this doesn't come with all of the parts that you need. You will need to pick up a fuse holder, a fuse, butt connectors, as well as ring terminals and a power wire to get this one to work. And that's because this kit does not include all of that, but there is a universal kit that does encompass all of that, allowing you to get your install done with that one package. Now I will point out, if your vehicle is the premium or premier package, the universal kit is gonna be the only one that works with this. But if you don't have that package, you're actually in luck. more

Adding a four pole to your Jeep is gonna allow you to do a few things. First and foremost, it's gonna allow you to give the proper signals from your vehicle to your trailer so that others behind you know that you're safe and legal and they know what your intentions are. So if you wanna make a right turn or turn into a parking lot, they're gonna know that because your vehicle's sending the signals to the trailer lights. Today we have a 2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee L, and we're gonna be taking a look at and I'm gonna show you how to install, the CURT T-Connector vehicle wiring harness. Now, right off the bat, this is gonna be a four pole wiring harness, so that you can connect to your trailer, get the lighting signals from your vehicle to the trailer so that you can let others know when you're towing that trailer, what your intentions are. Right off the bat, you'll notice that we have a five pole here. Well, we use an adapter because the person owns this vehicle is gonna use it primarily to tow his boat. And he needs that reverse lockout function to be on there which is going to be your fifth pole to be able to help to unlock the brakes when he is backing up with his boat trailer. more

Adding trailer wiring to your vehicle is a great addition to adding a hitch because if you ever plan on pulling a trailer or have accessories that light up, you're going to want a 4-pole. And this is going to allow you to have your running lights, your turn signals, and brake lights. And all of this runs into a module that will keep it protected from any back feed. It also plugs in directly to the factory style plug, so there's really no cutting on that end. You will have to extend a power wire that's going to run up to your battery and attach that to 12 volt power. more

Hey guys, it's Jake here with etrailer. Today we're gonna be taking a look at and I'm gonna show you how to install the Curt 4-pole wiring harness on our 2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee. Now a couple reasons of why you would wanna install a 4-pole on your Jeep Grand Cherokee is if you plan on towing a small trailer that has a 4-pole, if you ever plan on renting equipment or anything like that that has a 4-pole you're gonna need trailer signals. So this is gonna give you the lighting signals that you need to transfer from your vehicle to the trailer lights. Another couple of reasons would be if you have a bike rack that has light accessories or a cargo carrier that might have taillights, This is also going to help to power those. This wiring harness is gonna transfer your four basic signals to the lights on your trailer, which is going to be your left turn, your right turn, your stop, which is just a combination between the left and the right being applied at the same time and your running lights. more
