Today in your 2018 Toyota Highlander, we're gonna be taking a look at and showing you how to install Tekonsha's 7-way vehicle wiring harness with brake controller harness as well. And this gives you a fully functioning 7-way at the back, and also provides you with a connector that's routed inside that has all the wiring that's necessary to operate a brake controller. And this is what our 7-way it looks like when it's installed. We've got our 7-way connector here at the back that is fully functional, giving you all of your lighting signals, which includes left turn signal, right turn signal, tail lamps, brake lamps, as well as your reverse lamps. In addition to that, you also get an output for a brake controller. more

Hopkins Plug-In Simple Vehicle Wiring Harness Installation - 2018 Toyota Highlander- Video
Speaker 1: Today on our 2018 Toyota Highlander we're going to be installing Hopkins four pole flat trailer connector vehicle wiring harness, part number HM11141845. This four pole flat trailer connector is going to hook up to your trailer and provide all the necessary signals.This includes your left turn, right turn, tail lamps and brake lamps so you'll be DOT compliant in all states. There's an included dust cap that can be removed or put back on. Since it does live inside the vehicle, it is going to be free of moisture but this will allow you to keep it nice and closed and prevent any moisture from entering the connector when it is on the outside if you're not using it.It can also be used to hold your connector up when you're not using it. When you're done using your connector you can open up your tailgate, wrap it up and store it in the rear compartment. When you're ready to use your connector just pull it out, hang it over the back, you can close down your panel and then lay it flat right over top of the weather stripping.When you close your tailgate it's going to pinch it to hold it in place, it's not going to damage the wiring. more

This'll just slide over, and you can use this to keep out any dirt and debris. This'll help make sure that you got a long lasting connection. more

We've got one from Hopkins, one from Tekonsha, and one from Curt. Now, these are all gonna act relatively the same. They're gonna provide the same lighting signals at a 4-pole connector out the back of your vehicle to be able to be plugged into your trailer. Speaker 1: Today on our 2018 Toyota Highlander we're going to be taking a look at and showing you how to install the Curt T-connector vehicle wiring harness, with four pole flat trailer connector, part number C56217.Here's what our wiring's going to look like once it's fully installed. It's going to provide us with a four pole flat trailer connector, giving us all the required lights to get down the road safely and within the law. Such as our brake lights, turn signals and our taillights. Whenever we're not towing, our wiring is going to stay on the inside of our car. We're not going to have to worry about any damage to our wire because the weatherstripping here is going to provide enough cushion to where the hatch closing will not cause any damage so long as we stay away from the latch itself. Just take our wiring, wrap it up, lift up on the floor covering under here and we can store it right by our spare tire tools.Our wiring kit is a specific kit made for our Highlander. more

Speaker 1: Today on our 2018 Toyota Highlander we're gonna be taking a look at and showing you how to install the Tekonsha T-One vehicle wiring harness with four-pole flat trailer connector, that's gonna be part number 118449.Here's what our wiring's gonna look like once we have it installed. It is gonna stay on the inside of the vehicle until we're ready to use it and it's gonna provide us with a four-pole flat trailer connector which is gonna give us all the required lights to get down the road safely and within the law such as our taillights, brake lights, and our turn signals. Whenever we're not towing we can simply take our wire, come to the hatch of our vehicle, and it'll store right here right by our spare tire tools so it'll be ready for us whenever we need our trailer.Now the nice thing about our wiring is that it's gonna be a simple installation and it's gonna be tailor made specifically for our Highlander. We're only gonna have a few connections to make and one fuse to put in underneath the hood and then we'll have our wiring ready.Now that we've seen what our wiring looks like and seen the end result let's show you how to get it installed. To begin our installation you want to come to your rear hatch and we're gonna take any kind of floor coverings like this mat and we're gonna fold them out of the way so that we can get access to the very back section here. Now we're gonna lift up on this panel and we are gonna remove it for now and set it aside.Now the plastic cover panel over here on the driver's side we're gonna remove as well. more
