Trailer Wiring Harness Installation - 2018 Subaru Forester- Video
Speaker 1: Today on our 2018 Subaru Forester, we're going to be taking a look at and showing you how to install the Tekonsha T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness with 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector, part number 118467.Here's what our wirings are going to look like once we have it installed. It is going to give us a four-pole flat trailer connector, and it is going to stay on the inside of the car at all times. Now, it is going to have an included dust cap that is permanently attached, and it's going to provide us all the lights required by law to get down the road when we're towing our trailer, such as our tail lights, turn signals, and even our brake lights.Now, when we're not towing, and we're not using our wiring, we can simply open up our hatch, and our wiring is actually going to store right in this compartment right underneath our floor covering. The nice part about having the wiring on the inside is that we're not going to have to worry about any of the elements getting to our wires or corroding our connection points.Now, our wiring is a custom wiring kit, so we're not going to have to cut or splice into any wires on our Forester. We're just going to have one panel that we're going to have to remove right here and there's going to be a plug back here that our harness is going to plug directly into. Now, our wiring kit does come wiring everything needed to get it installed, including the converter box to take our signal from our car and send it out to our trailer, as well as an included fuse and fuse holder to protect our vehicle, and the wiring from any kind of back feeding or any other kind of issues that may arise.Now that we've seen the end result of our wiring and gone over some of the features, let's show you how to get it installed. more

Speaker 1: Today on our 2018 Subaru Forester we're going to be taking a look at and showing you how to install the Hopkins Plug-In Simple Vehicle Wiring Harness with 4-pole flat trailer connector, part number HM11143865.So here's what our wiring is going look like once we have it fully installed. It is going to provide us the 4-pole flat trailer connector, and it's going to give us all the required lights to get us down the road safely, such as our tail lights, turn signals, and our brake signal. It's going to have an included dust cap cover, which is going to keep all the dirt and debris and grime from getting inside our connector, because our wires are going to stay on the outside of the vehicle at all times.Now one thing Hopkins did do to help prevent any kind of damage to the wires, since it is going to be on the outside, is they put this protective coating on it, which is going to help keep the wires damaged from either sun rays, or any kind of moisture or anything else, that the elements would cause damage to our wires.Now our wiring is going to be a simple plug and play installation. We're going to have one port right behind this panel right here at the back of our vehicle that it's going to plug directly in to. It is going to have a converter box, so it's going to get all the right signals from our vehicle and convert them over to a working signal on our trailer.At the same time, that converter box is also going to protect our vehicle from any issues that may arise in the trailer end. Speaker 1: Today on our 2018 Subaru Forester we're going to be taking a look at and showing you how to install the Curt T-Connector Vehicle Wiring Harness for a 4-pole flat trailer connector, part number C56040. Here's what our wiring is going to look like, once we have it installed.It's going to give us a 4-pole flat trailer connector and it does come with a dust cover. Now this is going to provide us with all the lights we need for our trailer such as our tail lights, turn signals and stop lights. Now whenever we are ready to tow, we're going to drive our wire out our hatch. That's going to be right here by our receiver tube.Now when we're not towing, we can open up our hatch and as you can see, the seal here is going to protect our wire so we're not going to damage it when we do close it when we're using it. When we're not using it, we can simply just lift out the floor covering and store it right here by the spare tire. more
