Demco 5th Wheel/Gooseneck Wiring Harness Installation - 2008 Chevrolet Silverado

Today on our 2008 Chevrolet-Silverado 3500HD, we're going to be taking a look at and installing the Demco 5th wheel gooseneck, 90 degree wiring harness with 7 pole plug with a 10 foot cord, part number DM8555002. First thing we'll need to do is we'll need to find a good location to mount our new 7-way connector. It's going to go in the inner wall of our bed here. Wherever you choose to do yours, you want to make sure that behind it there's no wiring or anything that's already there and also that you're going to have enough room that you can make sure that you can get your connector plugged on to the back of it behind this wall. We're going to put ours right up here, so it's nice high out of the way but still nice and easy to access. You want to drill a pilot hole, then I'll take a 2 inch hole saw and make a hole using that pilot hole that I just made. Let's now install the 7-way connector. more

Trailer Wiring Harness Installation - 2008 Chevrolet Silverado

Today in our 2008 Chevrolet Silverado, we'll be installing the Hopkins replacement multi-tow seven-way and four-way trailer connector, part number 30955. We'll start our install by removing the factory cover. You just twist out of place, pull that tab, and it slides out. With the factory cover removed, we'll take our wiring harness and just push it back through for now. We'll then take our new four and seven-pole connector and its wiring harness and push it through that hole as well. We're just going to kind of line it up in place there. Once it's in place, we'll make sure we have plenty of clearance and material to drill through and hold it in place. more

Pollak Twist-In Trailer Connector Installation - 2008 Chevrolet Silverado Pickup

Today on this 2008 Chevrolet Silverado Pickup we are going to be installing the Pollak Twist-in 7-pole connector part number PK11916. We are at the rear bumper of the Chevrolet Pickup and we are going to locate our mounting location for our 7-pole plug. If you look just to the left of your license plate holder. You have got an existing knock out plug that is basically just a holder for the position that we are going to be putting our 7-pole into. To release this there is a little tab on the outboard side. Just take a flat bladed screw driver or something you can get in there to press that tab in a little bit. Twist the knock-out counter clockwise 45 degrees and pull the knock out away from the vehicle. In doing so you can see on the back side we have got a plug in. 00:46 more
