Thule Hitching Post Pro Hitch Bike Rack Review - 2016 Ford Edge- Video
Today on our 2016 Ford Edge we're going to be taking a look at the Thule Hitching Post Pro 4 Bike Rack, part number TH934XTR. Now, we already have our bike on our bike rack, and the way it's going to mount is we're going to have three points of contact. Two on the top crossbar here, and one on the vertical support that's going to act as the anti-sway cradle. Now, the way that we're going to take these off, simply just pull the straps off and our bike will come right off. Now, as you can see the grooves in our cradle are going to provide a nice secure grip for our bike, and the heavy duty straps have a rubber coating on them. So we're not going to have to worry about any scratches or abrasions on our bike frame. Now with the bike out of the way I'd like to give you a few measurements. more

Hollywood Racks Trail-Rider Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2010 Ford Explorer- Video
Today on our 2010 Ford Explorer we're going to be test fitting a Hollywood Racks Trail Rider, part number HR200. Now we already have our bike secured down to the bike rack. The main point holding this bike down is going to be this frame hook right here. The two cradles are going to hold the wheels. Now we do have hook-and-loop fasteners to keep the wheels in place. Just pull the straps and it will come right off. more

Kuat Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2010 Ford Explorer- Video
Today on our 2010 Ford Explorer we're going to be test fitting a Kuat NV 2.0 2-bike platform rack. Now as you can see, we already have our bike securely attached to the rack. One of the really nice features of this rack is you can actually tilt the rack down without having to remove it and still gain access to the back hatch. You still have room to get anything in or out that you may need. Now to lock the bike rack back in place, simply pick up and it will lock back in place. Now the bike is tied down and attached at two points, one at the rear wheel with a strap. To remove it you just push this button, pull the strap out, push this button on the hook, release it, tilt it out of the way, and your bike will come right off. more

Hollywood Racks Trail-Rider Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2013 Ford Focus- Video
Today on our 2013 Ford Focus, we're going to be test-fitting the Hollywood Racks Trail Rider 2-bike rack for 1-1/4" and 2" hitches. Part number HR200. We already have a bike installed on the rack, let's go and take a closer look and show off some of the features. First off how the bike is actually attached to the rack, we're going to have three points of contact. We're going to have this padded frame-hook up at the top and it's padded so once you install your bike its frame won't get scratched up. You have two hook-and-loop straps on either tire and the wheel-holders themselves are adjustable along the arms here by loosening and tightening these knobs. They're adjustable to accommodate different-sized bikes but also to assist with loading. The bike rack does have this nice free shank so even if your hitch sits pretty low to the ground, you're not going to have any clearance issues between the bike rack and the ground. Let's go and take the bike off and set it aside. more

Let's go and take a closer look and show off some of the features. The most prominent feature of this bike rack is the fact that it can tilt away from the vehicle with the bike still attached. To do that, you come to the front here, to this latch, pull towards you while holding onto the bike rack, let it come down, and now we have full access to our rear hatch to get what we need. We'll lift it back up into its position until you hear a click. How the bike is actually held into place, we're going to have two points of contact with no frame contact at all. We'll have a wheel hook up at the front, and then we'll have this wheel strap at the rear. more

Now, they are fixed in these positions and they have these groves on the inside here, so your brake cables can actually fit into those groves and they won't get smashed up against the frame. Today on our 2013 Ford Focus we'll be doing a test fit on the Kuat Beta hanging style two bike rack. That's part number B202-114. I've already got it loaded up on the Ford Focus just to give you a good idea of what it looks like and how it's going to hold our bikes. It actually secures our bikes in three spots. We have two straps for our top tube and then one strap for our seat post tube. This one is going to be our anti-sway strap. It's going to help prevent bike-to-bike contact and bike-to-vehicle contact and help prevent that sway when we're on the road. more

Today on our on our 2015 Ford Edge we're going to be taking a look at the Swagman Trailhead 4-bike hanging-style rack for 1-1/4" and 2" hitches, part number S63380. Now on this bike rack the bike is secured in three locations. We've got our two straps that are right there. Then we've got one more back here. The third location that we secure is down here on the downtube of the frame for sway control to make sure that the bike doesn't swing too much. Today on our 2012 Ford Focus we're going to be taking a look at the Thule Vertex 4 Bike Rack, part number TH9029XT. As you can see we already have a bike installed on the rack, let's go ahead and take a closer look and show off some of the features. This first one I would like to show off is it has a integrated cable lock here at the top of the mast. You just pull it out, wrap it around you bikes and it will attach at this spot here at the front and you can lock it into place for additional security for your bikes. Now the bike actually attaches to the rack itself, we're going to have 3 points of contact with the bike's frame. We're going to have 2 straps up at the top here and one off to the side. That's going to serve as an anti-sway strap to keep the bike from moving too far back and forth, possibly hitting the bikes in front of it and damaging them both. Let's go ahead and take a closer look and show off some of the features. Now, the most important feature about this rack is the fact that this can tilt away with the bike still attached. To do that, we have this latch here on the side. You want to hold onto the bike rack when you release this so it doesn't just come falling down. You pull down on that, gently let it come down like so, and now we have access to our rear hatch to get what we need without having to remove the bike. Now, I would like to point out from the center of our handlebars to this edge here, we measured it to be about 9 inches, so as you can see we have plenty of space here for a little bit longer handlebars with other bikes. more

Today, on our 2010 Ford Fusion, we're going to be doing a test fit to the Thule Vertex 4 Bike Hanging Style Rack. Part number TH9029XT. Now on this bike rack, there are 3 locations that secures the bike down. It's got 2 straps up here across the frame, and then one anti sway strap down here on the down tube. That anti sway strap's going to help eliminate too much of that shake in the bike, to help avoid hitting other bikes, or the rack itself. Now let's take our bike and we'll get it out of the way, so that we can highlight some of the other features on this rack. Once we've got that set off to the side, let's take a measurement to see what the total distance added to our vehicle is. Total distance added looks to be about 33 inches. On this, it does have an integrated cable lock, which you can pull out, and you'll insert right there. more

Today on our 2016 Ford Fusion we'll be doing a test fit on the Kuat Transfer Three Bike Rack. That's part number TS03G. Now, it's also available as a two bike rack and that's part number TS02G. I've already got it loaded up on the Fusion just to give you a good idea of what it looks like and how it's going to secure our bikes. It actually secures our bikes in two spots. We have this large front wheel hook putting down pressure on our front wheel into the front wheel cradle. Then we have a rear wheel strap going between our spokes, and then keeping our rear wheel in place. more

Today on this 2016 Ford Explorer, we're going to be test fitting the Kuat NV 4 Bike Platform Rack, part number N105-107. As you can see we already have a bike installed on the rack, let's go ahead and take a closer look, and show off some of the features. Now the first feature I'd like to show off is the fact that this bike rack can actually tilt with the bike still on it. To do that, there's a silver switch here on the passenger side. I want to hold onto the bike rack for this. You pull out, like so, and let the bike rack tilt forward, and we have full access to our rear hatch, without having to remove the bikes. To put it back into the originally position, you simply just lift up on the rack, until you hear that click, and it's locked into place. more

The first one we'd like to show is the fact that it can tilt away from the vehicle with the bike still attached. To do that, we'll lift up these arms and then there's this latch here at the front, you can just go and take your foot, push down on it holding onto the bike rack, let it tilt away, and now we have access to our rear hatch. Now, I would like to note if you have any longer handlebars than this, you may run into some problems opening up your hatch. Go ahead and lift it back into position. more

Today in this 2016 Ford Escape, we're going to be test fitting the Softride Element Parallelogram Tilting 4 bike rack, part number SR 26248. We already have a bike attached to the rack. Let's go ahead and take a closer look and show off some of the features. Now, one of the most important features is the fact that this can tilt away from the vehicle with the bike still attached with this being a hanging bike rack that's pretty much the only one of its kind. You come to the side here with this black handle, pull it out like so, then let it tilt away, and we have full access to our rear hatch. To put it back into its original position, you just simply push it back up, align the pins and it will lock back into place. Now, how this attaches to the rack, you're going to have two points of contact with your bike's frame. more

Swagman Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2016 Ford Escape- Video
Today in this 2016 Ford Escape, we're going to test fitting the Swagman Trailhead 4 Bike Rack, part number S63380. As you can see we already have the bike installed on the rack, let's go ahead and take a closer look, and show off some of the features. Now how the bike is attached to the rack, we're going to have 4 points of contact with the bike's frame. We're going to have 3 rubber straps up at the top here, and one off to the side, and that's going to serve as an anti-sway strap to keep the bike from moving too far back and forth possibly hitting the bike rack, or the bikes in front of it. Let's go ahead and take the bike off and set it aside. Now with the bike in this position I'm going to go ahead and give you some measurements. Starting from the bumper, to this edge here, we've added about 34 1/2" to the rear of the vehicle. more

Pro Series Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2016 Ford Escape- Video
Today in this 2016 Ford Escape we're going to test fit the Pro-Series Q-Slot platform style 2 and 4 bike rack, part number PS63138. We already have a bike installed on the rack, let's go ahead and take a closer look and show off some of the features. How this attaches to the rack, you're going to have three points of contact, one is going to be the frame hook up at the top here, which is padded so we'll not scratch it once you install it. There's also two and hook-and-look straps on either wheel. Let's go ahead and take the bike off and set it aside. Now when you remove the frame hook, you want to make sure you hang onto the bike when you do this because you don't want it falling forward into the vehicle. Raise that up and go ahead and lift it out. more

We're going to have 2 straps up at the top here and 1 off to the side, and that's going to serve as an anti-sway strap to keep the bike from moving too far back and forth, possibly hitting the bike rack or the bikes in front of it. Measuring from the bumper to our edge here, we've added about 34 inches to the rear of the vehicle. more

Thule Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2016 Ford Escape TH912XTR- Video
Today on this 2016 Ford Escape we're going to be test fitting the Thule Roadway two bike rack, part number TH912XTR. We already have a bike installed on the rack. Let's go ahead and take a closer look and show off some of the features. How the bike attaches to the rack: we're going to have three points of contact with the bike's frame. We're going to have two straps up at the top here and one off to the side and that's going to serve as an anti-sway strap to keep the bike from moving too far back and forth, possibly hitting the bike rack or the bikes in front of it. Let's go ahead and take the bike off and set it aside. With the bike rack in this position, measuring from the bumper, from this edge down we've added about 28 and a half inches to the rear of the vehicle. Now these arms do fold down in close quarter situations such as parking, to do that we'll just take the gray leaver here, push up, when you hear that click it's locked into place. more

Thule Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2005 Ford F-150- Video
Today on our 2005 Ford F-150 Super Cab, we'll be doing a test fit of the Thule T2 Pro platform-style 4-bike rack. That's part number TH9034-9036. I've already got it loaded up on the F-150 just to give you a good idea of what it looks like and how it's going to secure our bikes. It actually secures our bikes in 2 spots. We have this rear wheel strap going over our rear wheel. Then up here at the front, we have this large wheel hook going over our front wheel, putting down pressure into our front wheel cradle. more

Thule Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2012 Ford Escape- Video
Today on our 2012 Ford Escape, we'll be doing a test fit of the Thule T2 Pro platform style 4 bike rack. That's part number TH9034-9036. I've already got it loaded up on the Escape just to give you a good idea on what it looks like and how it's going to hold our bikes. It actually secures our bikes in 2 spots. We have this nice big wheel hook here in the front putting down pressure on our front wheel into this large wheel cradle here and then we have a rear wheel strap going over our wheel here keeping that in place. All in all there is no frame contact. One of the key features about this bike rack is its ability to tilt away from the vehicle with 4 bikes loaded up. more
