Today on our 2019 Ford F53 Chassis motor home, we're going to be taking a look at the Thule Camber Tube bike rack.Whenever we go on a trip in our motor homes, space is going to be limited on the inside. We don't want to take any more space than we have to by putting bikes inside. We want to leave that space for our pets, friends, or family. Our Thule Camber is going to be a great way to transport that bike, so we can take it with us and enjoy the outdoors. What's going to make the Thule Camber stand out a little bit, is that it is going to be rated for use on motor homes, so we can rest assured that our bike and our bike rack is going to be secure and we can get where we're going.Now our bike rack is going to have three points of contact holding everything in place. Thule Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2015 Ford Edge- Video

Hey everyone! Today we have a 2015 Ford Edge and we're going to test it with a Touhey Helium Pro Three-Bike Hanging Style Rack.Now this hanging rack's going to allow you to transport up to three bikes to and from the trails, or wherever else you're going to take them. It's got a pretty cool design in that it comes in at about 20 pounds, so it's going to be pretty light and very easy to handle so any time you're installing it into your hitch or taking it out, you're not going to have to put too much strain on your back or anything like that which is pretty nice because most, you know, three to four bike platform racks are going to get up there in weight. You know, 30, 40 pounds and that's just going to be a lot less weight you got to carry so, which is good for that.Now, the bike itself is going to be attached at three different points. We have two straps on top of the top tube, right there. The third point is going to be down here on the seat post tube. It's going to be securing, the strap is going to be securing it into the anti sway cradle and that just helps prevent a lot of unnecessary movement out of our bike while we're traveling.We're going to have an onboard cable lock that comes out from the base, it goes over top of your bikes and locks into this slot right there. more

It comes in at just under 20 pounds so you're not gonna have too much trouble installing it in your hitch and taking it off for whenever you don't need it. When compared to a lot of other platform style racks, the ones that get up there 30 to 40 pounds, that could be a bit of a hassle and a bit of a strain on your back to be constantly put in and out of your hitch. While Thule came up with this bike rack so you don't have that problem anymore.The bike itself is gonna be held in at three different points. Starting with our arms here, at the ends of both of our arms we're going to have the patented Yakima bottle openers. The cradles themselves are going to be stationary, meaning they can't move back and forth, but they do have this TPE padding, which is actually going to act as a shock absorber while you're driving, so when you hit those bumps, it's going to help protect the frame of your bike. Also, the bottoms of our zip strips here are also padded.On the back side of our mast here is this plastic piece. Now, since this doesn't come with any locks to speak of, you do have options where you can remove this plastic piece here and replace it with a Yakima handcuff integrated cable lock, which you can find on eTrailer.com.Now, the bike is held into place, we're going to have three points of contact. more

Saris Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2018 Ford Escape- Video

Now we have a decent amount of access to our trunk and plenty of space in between the bumper and the bike rack to get what we need. more

What kind of sets this apart from the other platform style bike racks is while like most of them it does tilt away from the vehicle with both bikes attached to gain trunk access, this one as opposed to having to go up to the front and loosening up pins and having to hold it in place, all you do is you go up to this, holding onto the bike rack, you go to this foot pedal, push down, and let it tilt toward you. Now we have full trunk access to get what we need. TO put it back up, you simply lift up by the bike rack, never the bikes, until you hear that click.How this holds the bike in place will have two points of contact. We're going to have a little strap here in the back to hold our rear tire in place, and we'll also have this wheel hook up at the front holding it down, so there's not going to be any frame contact at all. more

This is a bit different than the previous models as the previous model double track would actually have a frame hook that would push down and hold the bike in place. Instead, here we have a frame clamp that can swing in and out of the way to make loading and unloading much easier. They also switched up how the wheel cradles work here. Where before you would have a knob that you would turn to the left or right to move them, but this way you only have a handle here that you can slide it back and forth, and then push it down into place for it to stay in place. more

To tilt it, we're going to pull out on our blue handle here at the back.We'll be able to tilt that down, away from our vehicle. I like to move my pedal so that it's up higher, but you'll see that we're not going to be able to gain full access into our back truck-bed area in this position. That is okay though because we do have another position, which will allow us to gain full access.To do that, we'll start by lifting up until our bike rack locks into place, and we can loosen up our handle all the way. We're going to loosen this up completely, but it will not come out of our hitch. more

Speaker 1: Today with our 2016 Ford F-150 SuperCab, we're going to be showing you how it interact with our RockyMounts BackStage Swinging Platform Style Two-Bike Rack, part number RKY10002.What I like best about this bike rack is it has the ability to swing away, giving you full access to your truck bed or tail gate, unlike other bike racks that just tilt away, giving you partial access. To swing it back in, we can operate our two knobs. Lift up the one on the center here. We'll start bringing it in, and then we'll lift up the one on the end here and start swinging it out.
