Today we're going to be taking a look at the best custom fit vehicle harnesses available for the 2013 Mazda CX5. Now all of the wiring harnesses that we have here today are all going to offer the four-pole flat trailer connector. That's going to power the right turn and brake, left turn and brake, running lights, and also it grounds out the system on the trailer. We've got our CURT here. This is a non-powered converter box. This is designed for use only in the CX5 with the incandescent bulb or non-LED bulbs. Then we're going to have the Tekonsha here and the Hopkins here. more

Trailer Wiring Harness Installation - 2013 Mazda CX-5

Today on our 2013 Mazda CX5 we'll be installing the Tow Ready T1 Vehicle Wiring Harness, part number 118563. Now to use our new four pole harness, take our four pole harness and run it towards the center of the vehicle and down to our hitch or accessory. Be careful, stay away from the latches, pinching it off in the latch can harm the wire; however, the weather stripping is thick enough that we can simply close the rear hatch on the wire. Then once we're finished we'll simply roll it up and store it in the rear cargo area here on the driver's side. To begin our install we'll first open up the rear cargo door and remove the rear cargo liner. Next we'll go ahead and remove the rear threshold. To remove the rear threshold, there are two push pin fasteners we'll have to remove first. more

Today on the 2013 Mazda CX-5, we're going to install part number C56011 from Curt. Now, our wiring harness installs right behind the tail lights so we're going to remove some interior panels. The first up, we'll go ahead and open up the hatch. Then we'll take the spare tire cover and fold it back. Now, in the inside edge, there will be two plastic fasteners that we have to remove. Then we'll go ahead and remove the threshold. A steady pressure pulling up on the bottom edge pulling straight up will get to release in the clips. more
