Shane: Hi, I am Shane with etrailer.com. Today, I'm going to walk through how to install the CURT powered taillight converter kit, with four-pole flat trailer connector on your 2013 BMW X5. Adding wiring to your vehicles is going to allow you to get light signals transferred back to either your boat trailer, maybe you have a flatbed trailer or something like that you're pulling, that is requiring lighting functions. This is going to allow you to get those functions to transfer back to your trailers so that you're not only legal, but you're safe and everybody around you knows what you're doing. Maybe you have a cargo carrier and loading up that cargo carrier, maybe putting a little bit of coverage on your tail lights. Having a four-pole plug is going to allow you to run lights to that cargo carrier. more

Trailer Wiring Harness Installation - 2013 BMW X5- Video
Today in our 2013 BMW X5 we'll be installing the ZCI Circuit Protected Vehicle Wiring Harness for a 4-pole flat trailer connector. Part #119250KIT. When it comes time to hook up to our trailer, all you have to do, pull out our panel here, grab our trailer wiring, we'll hang it down here out of the way of our hatch. You can close your panel back up here. We'll close our hatch. Just like that we can hook up our trailer and have all functioning lights on it so we can safely tow. Here's what our kit consists of.
