Hey everybody, Ryan here at etrailer. Today, we're going to be taking a look at our best trailer wiring options for your 2009 Acura RDX. So today, we're going to be checking out three different wiring kits. Here we're going to have the Tekonsha kit, here in the middle, we're going to have the Curt, and over here, we're going to have the Hopkins. Now, before you kind of get too carried away, checking out some of the differences and similarities of the kit. I figured I would just kinda talk about which one I would choose for my own RDX and just a little bit why, and after checking all of them out, I think it would be a really close tie between the Tekonsha and the Curt. more

Trailer Wiring Harness Installation - 2009 Acura RDX- Video
Today in our 2009 Acura RDX, we're gonna be taking a look at installing the tow ready T1 vehicle wiring harness with four pull flat trailer connector, part number 118500. When you're ready to use your four pull flat connector, you're gonna take it out of our cargo area. We'll lay it across the hatch here, being sure to keep away from our latch, so we don't pinch our wire, and we can just close the hatch right over top of it. When you're done with it, we can open up the hatch and we can just fold it away using the cover as a tie down. The reason you'd want this box is it's gonna isolate the trailer form the vehicle's wiring system, so if you we're to have a back feed or a short, it's not gonna affect the vehicle's wiring, causing a short and maybe taking out a computer on your vehicle. Now to begin our installation we're gonna need to take out the floor of the cargo hatch and the front floor as well, and we're gonna need to remove the spare tire. Now located underneath the front of this styrofoam cover here, there's gonna be a plug taped to the wiring harness. It's gonna be a blue plug. more

Trailer Wiring Harness Installation - 2009 Acura RDX 56008- Video
Today on our 2009 Acura RDX, we're going to be taking a look at and showing you how to install the Curt T-Connector Vehicle Wiring Harness with 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector, part number 56008. When you're ready to use your 4-pole flat connector, you're going to take it out of the cargo container here. We'll lay it across the sill plate and the weather stripping here, which is going to help hold it in place. Just make sure you stay away from your latch in the center her so you don't pinch any wiring. Close it down, and you're ready to use it. When you're all done, you can take it back out of there, we can just coil up our wire, a nice, neat little package here. We'll use the cover from our weather tight cover. more
