And this one allows us to do that because it folds down and the way we're going to do that is right down here and there's a couple of things we need to do. So if you have a fat tire bike, if you have an electric bike, this is going to be the rack you want. One, because it's going to be able to hold bikes up to 80 pounds. So, that's 80 pounds per bike. It's going to be able to fit wheel bases up to 60 inches and tire width up to five inches. more

Hollywood Racks Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2015 Nissan Murano- Video
Adam: What's going on, everybody Adam here with etrailer. Today, we're going to be taking a look at the Hollywood Racks Destination 4 platform-style bike rack on our 2015 Nissan Murano. So this is going to be able to get four bikes to and from your destinations, perfect fit for this car, just because you can fit four people in here pretty easily. So, if you have a carbon fiber frame bike, this probably isn't the best route to go, just because it is going to strap to your frame. I usually like to get wheel-hook type bike racks whenever I have a carbon frame bike, but any of the other bikes you may have it's going to work really, really well with it. Electric bikes, no, but it is going to be able to fit tires widths up to three inches, and we're going to have a weight capacity of 35 pounds per bike.What I like about it is how diverse it can be. more

And this is a four bike hanging style bike rack, so it's going to hold your bikes by its top tube, and it's going to allow you to get up to four bikes loaded, so you can take them to and from your destination.It's a really high-quality rack that you're really getting a lot for the money you spend on it. It's going to hold your bikes at three different points. You're going to have two thick rubber straps on the top tube, securing them into the top cradles. What I really like is that it's got an anti-sway cradle with a strap around the seat post tube. more

Today on our 2014 Nissan Murano, we're gonna be doing a test fit on the Thule Helium Pro Hanging Style Three-Bike Rack. I've already got it set up here just to give you a good idea what it looks like and how it looks on our Murano.One thing that's unique about this bike rack is that it is also motor-home approved, and it's one of the only few that can actually tilt away. It's gonna be nice and solid to hold our bikes on the back of a motor-home with all that vibration that you normally have. One thing to note is that you cannot tilt it away with bikes loaded, so just keep that in mind.But it secures our bikes with three points of contact. We've got two straps for our top tube, and then one strap for our seat post tube. The one for our seat post tube is gonna help cut down on some of that sway during transport, prevent bike to bike contact, bike to bike rack contact, and bike to vehicle contact.Let's go ahead and take it off. more

RockyMounts Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2014 Nissan Murano- Video
Today on our 2014 Nissan Murano, we're going to be doing a test fit on the RockyMounts WestSlope platform style two bike rack. As you can see I've already got it set up here just to give you a good idea what it looks like and how it's going to work with our Murano. Now what's nice about this bike rack is it secures our bikes without any frame contact. You can see how the hook here is going over our front tire, putting down pressure into the cradle and then in the rear, we have a strap going over that tire keeping everything in place. It's nice and stable, and this is the perfect bike rack for maybe a carbon fiber bike where we don't want any frame contact.Now with the bike in place, we can easily access our rear hatch by titling it away. Pull on the key pin here in the middle, and we'll lower it down. more

Hollywood Racks RV and Camper Bike Racks Review - 2014 Nissan Murano- Video
Today on our 2014 Nissan Murano, we're going to be doing a test fit of the Hollywood Racks Sport Rider SE2 for electric bikes. Now right away, this bike rack may look like a standard bike rack. It's not, it's actually built a lot more heavy-duty. We have welded-on gussets underneath the wheel cradles to support the extra weight of electric bikes. We can actually hold two electric bikes with up to 80 pounds per bike, so again very heavy-duty. It's going to support that extra weight.Now, Hollywood Racks does recommend that you do not travel with your battery installed. more

This bike rack will allow you to carry one bike on the back of your Nissan Murano using your existing hitch. Here on our test course, we'll start by going through the slalom. This is going to show us the side to side action, which simulates turning corners or evasive maneuvers. Once we get to the alternate speed bumps, we'll see the twisting action. Yakima Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2016 Nissan Murano- Video
Speaker 1: Today on our 2016 Nissan Murano, we're going to be doing a test fit on the Yakima Four Timer four bike platform rack. That part number is Y02469.As you can see, we have a bike installed, so I'll take a closer look at some of these features. Now right away I want to point out a great feature about this bike rack is that while we have it in a four bike configuration right now, if you want to convert it to a two bike, you would remove this nut and bolt right there. Once you do that, you can take off the two bike addition and shorten it, which will help for those times where maybe you're only taking two bikes out for a day.Another great feature about this bike rack is that it can tilt away from your vehicle to give you rear hatch access. To do that, we're gonna come up and pull this gray pin on the other side. Let it hang there and then we're gonna pull the red pin right here, and let it tilt away from the vehicle. more

Inno Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2016 Nissan Murano- Video
Speaker 1: Today on our 2016 Nissan Murano, we're going to be doing a test fit of the Inno Aero Light Four-Bike Rack for 1-1/4" and 2" Hitches, part number INH640.We do have a bike installed, so let's take a closer look at some of these features. We have this nice integrated cable lock system that comes out from the base of our bike rack, wraps around the frames of our bikes, and inserts into that lock right there. When you want to unlock the cable, you get your set of keys that comes with your bike rack and slide up this tab right there. You got the insert for your key to unlock your cable and unload your bikes.Our cradles are going to be able to pivot left and right and move up and down on our bike rack to accommodate different size bike frames you might have or the spacing you might want between your bikes.On the bike itself, we're going to have three different points where its secured. We have two straps on the top of our bike frame. Then down here we have a third strap that is securing the frame into the anti-rattle cradle. more

Today in our 2013 Nissan Murano, we're going to be test fitting the Swagman XC 2 bike rack, part number S64650. We already have a bike installed on the rack. Let's go ahead and take a closer look and show off some of the features. How the bike attaches to the rack, we're going to have one point of contact and that's going to be a frame hook up here. It is padded, so your bike will not get scratched up once it's installed. We also have these adjustable wheel cradles here you turn to the left to loosen them up, and then move along the arms freely to accommodate different size bikes and to assist with loading. We also have this nice raised shank here, so when you do have hitches that sit a little bit lower to the ground you're not going to have clearance issues between the bike rack itself and the ground. more

Yakima HoldUp Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2013 Nissan Murano- Video
Today on our 2013 Nissan Murano we're going to be test fitting the Yakima HoldUp 2 Bike Rack, part number Y02443. We already have a bike installed on the rack, let's go ahead and take a closer look and show off some of the features. Now the most prominent feature of this bike rack is the fact that you can tilt it away from the vehicle with the bike still attached. To do that holding on to the bike rack you come to this red knob at the front, pull out, then come down. With that we have access to our rear hatch to get whatever we need with plenty of space on either side to do so. To put it back in it's original position simply lift up, you hear that click and it's locked back into place. Now some other features of this bike rack it does have an integrated cable lock here at the top of the wheel hook, just pull it up and around the bike and attach it to this point on the other side, lock it into place and your bike is secure on the rack. more

Let's go ahead and take a closer look and show off some of the features. Now, the most prominent feature about this bike rack is the fact that it can tilt away from the vehicle with the bike still attached. To do that, you have this release lever at the front, and while holding onto the bike rack, you just pull it towards you and let the bike rack come down. With that, we have full access to our rear hatch to get whatever we need with plenty of space on either side to do so. Now, to put it back in its original position, we'll just lift up. more

Today on our 2010 Nissan Mirano, we're going to be taking a look at the Thule Vertex 4-bike rack, part number TH9029XT. On this bike rack, it has three straps that secure the bike. It's got the two up top and then the anti-sway strap down here. We're going to go ahead take the bike off so we can look at a few other features on this rack. Now, with the bike out of the way, let's get a measurement to see how much this adds total to the rear of the vehicle. It looks like it adds about 34 1/2 inches total. more

Thule Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2010 Nissan Murano TH912XTR- Video
Today on our 2010 Nissan Murano we'll be taking a look at the Thule Roadway 2 Bike Rack, part number TH912XTR. With the bike on here you can say that it's held down in 3 spots by these straps. You got the 2 up top and then 1 anti-sway down here. We're going to go ahead and take the bike off, and now with the bike out of the way we will replace our straps and then we'll take a look at what else this bad guy can do. This one, if you pull this gray lever right here it will fold it down so that if you're going into your garage or your anywhere that is tight, parking spaces, that gives you a little bit better fit. Now with these arms folded down see how far it sticks out from the rear, it adds about 11-1/2 total inches to it. With the arms up it adds about 24-1/2 inches to the total length of the vehicle. Now once nice feature about this is that if with it down you can actually pull this gray lever down here and tilt it away from the vehicle to get better access to your cargo area. more

Today in our 2014 Nissan Murano, we're testing the Kuat Transfer. Now the transfer is a three bike platform style rack. This has been designed for use in inch and a quarter or with two inch hitches. Part in the brand is TS03G. This is a great rack. As far as your big platform style racks are concerned, this is really lightweight. more

Thule Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2014 Nissan Murano- Video
Today on our 2014 Nissan Murano, we're doing a test fit on the Thule T2 Classic. Now, this is platform-style 2-bike rack. They designed it for use in 2-inch hitches. Part number on it TH9044. Great way about the design of the rack and great thing about it rather is going to be the way it holds our bike. We got a front-wheel hook that presses our front wheel down into our front wheel cradle, and a rear wheel strap that does the same at the rear wheel cradle. more

Swagman Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2014 Nissan Murano- Video
Today on our 2014 Nissan Murano we're test fitting this slagman dispatch 00:00:04. This is a platform style, RV approved, two bike rack. It's been designed for use in two inch hitches. The part number on this, S64684. Now the dispatch is going to use a frame hook to hold down on your bike. It's going to hold it in the two wheel cradle, each is going to have a strap as well. more

Swagman Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2014 Nissan Murano S64675- Video
Today on our 2014 Nissan Murano we're test fitting the Swagman Original towing bike rack. This is a tilt away style 4 bike rack. Part number on it is S64675. This has been designed for use with 2 inch hitches. It does a great job of killing a couple birds with one stone. As you can see here, we've got an inch and 7/8 ball that's out at the end of our ball mount at the bottom. We've still got our 4 bike rack up here so we can haul whatever it is we need to haul up to a 350 pound tongue weight or 3500 pound tongue weight rating. more

Softride Element-Parallelogram Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2014 Nissan Murano- Video
Today on our 2014 Nissan Murano we're test fitting the Softride Element Parallelogram. This is a hanging style 4 bike rack. They've designed it for use in 2 inch hitches. It'll tilt away and also fold up against the vehicle. Part number on it is SR26248. One of the great features is the way this is designed to tilt out. Simply going to pull out on the T pin located here on the side and then allow it to tilt down and away from the vehicle. more

Kuat NV Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2014 Nissan Murano- Video
Today on our 2014 Nissan Murano we'll be doing a test fit of the Kuat NV platform-style 4-bike rack for 2" hitches. That's part number N105-107. Let's go ahead and begin our test fit by placing the shank into the receiver here. Then we'll line up our pinholes. Once we get that lined up, we'll grab our pin and lock, put that through. Thule Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2015 Nissan Murano- Video
Today on our 2015 Nissan Murano, we're going to be doing a test fit of the Thule Vertex Hanging Style 4 Bike Rack. As you can see we've already got our bike up here in place so you can see what it's going to look like once you have it fully assembled and on the back of your vehicle. This is going to be part number TH9029XT. Let's start off by getting a few measurements starting with our closest distance first down here at the bottom flange to the back side of the bumper that's going to be about 1 1/2 inches. Overall distance that we've added to the back of the vehicle from the backside of the bumper to the backside of the cradle arms is going to be about 35 1/2 inches and our rear ground clearance will be about 9 3/4 inches to the bottom side of the shank here. All right let's talk about how the bike is secured to our rack. You are going to have an alternating strap on every other side as you can see here. Those lower hanging straps are going to be your most important straps. more

Today on our 2015 Nissan Murano we're going to be doing a test fit of the Yakima FullTilt hanging-style 4-bike rack. As you can see, we've already got our bike up here and in place so you can see what it's going to look like once you have it fully assembled and on the back of your vehicle. This is going to be part number Y02462. Let's start off by getting a few measurements, starting with our closest distance first down here at the bottom flange to the backside of the bumper. It's going to be about 6-1/4". Overall distance that we've added to the back of the vehicle from the backside of the bumper to the backside of the cradle arm is going to be about 37". Our ground clearance from the bottom of the fin on the bottom side of the shank at about 9". Now let's talk about how our bike is secured to our rack. more

Curt Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2015 Nissan Murano- Video
Today on our 2015 Nissan Murano, we're going to be doing a test fit of the Curt Premium 4 Hanging Style 4 Bike Rack, part number C18064. As you can see, we've already got a bike up here on our platform, completely assembled so you can see what it's going to look like once you have it on your vehicle. Let's start off by getting a few measurements. Our closest measurement will be down here on the front hand side, from the T handle to the back side of the bumper, at about 3 3/4 inches. This rack does come with a two inch shank for your two inch receivers only and it's going to be attached using an anti-rattle bolt, which we'll go over in a few minutes. Overall distance that we've added to the vehicle will be from the bumper to the backside of the cradle arms at about 32 inches. Ground clearance from the backside at about 9 1/2 inches. Moving up top, we'll talk about how the bike is secured to the rack. more

As you can see I've already got the bike mounted and the bike rack loaded onto the Murano here, just to give you a good idea of what it looks like. Let's go ahead and show you how it works. Our bike is held in place by these three straps here. I've got one here on our first cradle and then we've got two. One specific one will be our anti-sway strap. more
