Hi, everyone. Aiden here with etrailer.com and today we're gonna be taking a look at the Yakima OnRamp 2-Bike Rack here on our 2018 Toyota Highlander. Now the OnRamp is a really nice bike rack for hauling e-bikes. It's gonna have a 66 pound weight capacity per bike and is RV/off-road rated for 40 pounds per bike. 66 pounds is very capable for your e-bikes. You just wanna make sure you take that battery off before you hit the road just for safety purposes and to save a bit of weight. more

Kuat Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2018 Toyota Highlander- Video

It's gonna hold the bike by the back tire, on this wheel strap, and by the front tire, on this wheel hook, which means zero frame contact, making it really good for our carbon frame bikes, alternative frame bikes, and with a 60 pound weight capacity per bike, even some e-bikes with that battery removed. Kuat Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2018 Toyota Highlander KU74FR- Video
Hi, everyone. Aiden here with etrailer.com, and today we're gonna be taking a look at the Kuat Transfer V2 Platform Style Bike Rack here on our 2018 Toyota Highlander. Now, this bike rack can hold two bikes, and it's gonna hold it at the pivoting wheel cradle at the back here, and at this wheel hook on the front, which means zero frame contact. That's gonna make it good for our carbon frame bikes, our alternative frame bikes, and with a 40 pound capacity, you're not gonna want to work with any sort of e-bikes probably, so just watch out for that. Now, this does have the option to tilt away with the bikes loaded and to do that, I'm actually gonna pull this other arm up just to give me easy access to the foot pedal here. It's a really unique way of tilting down. more

Now that's a really nice platform style bike rack that's going to, like the name suggests, hold the bike by the tires. This means we're gonna have zero frame contact so good for our carbon frame bikes, good for alternative frame. And it's a 60-pound weight capacity per bike, even good for some e-bikes with the battery removed. more

Hollywood Racks Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2018 Toyota Highlander- Video
Hi everyone, Aiden here with etrailer.com. And today we're gonna be taking a look at the Hollywood Racks Destination two bike rack here on our 2018 Toyota Highlander. Now that's a really nice entry level platform style bike rack with a lot of nice features. It's going to be holding the bike down here by the tires by the wheels with these wheel straps on either side and holding it upright with this clamp on the mast. I like that these two clamps operate independently of each other. So if we have to set them at the exact same height, we can because they're completely independent, they can go up, down, rotate 360 degrees and adjust to fit your bikes. more

Hollywood Racks Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2018 Toyota Highlander HLY66ZR- Video
Hi, everyone. Aiden here with etrailer.com. And today we're gonna be taking a look at the Hollywood Racks Destination E-bike rack here on our 2018 Toyota Highlander. Now, this is a really nice E-bike rack with a 70 pound weight capacity per bike. Just make sure when you are carrying your E-bikes you are taking that battery off just for safety while you're driving. Now, the way it attaches is through these three wheel straps on the bottom, we've got one, two, and three here in the front and holding it upright with this clamp up top. more

Hi, everyone. Aiden here with etrailer.com, and today we're gonna be taking a look at the Kuat NV Base platform-style bike rack, here on our 2018 Toyota Highlander. Now, the NV Base is a really nice bike rack. It's gonna hold the bike by the rear tire here on this strap, and by the front wheel hook up here which means zero frame contact. It's gonna make it really nice for our carbon frame bikes, we don't have to worry about damaging that tube; alternative frame bikes, because we're not relying on that tube for any sort of contact; and with a 60-pound weight capacity, it's even going to be good for some of our e-bikes with that battery removed. Another nice thing this has is the ability to tilt away with the bikes loaded. more

Hey, everybody, welcome to etrailer.com. I'm Bobby and today we're taking a look at the Yakima backroad four bike rack carrier on our 2018 Toyota Highlander. Now this can be an excellent way of getting four bikes to your destination, whether it be for friends or family. Taking a look, you can see, we do have a hanging style rack here today. So if you're looking at a way of getting those carbon frame bikes to your destination unfortunately this isn't going to be a great option as we do have frame contact so we will end up warping and deteriorating those carbon frames. However, with the 37 a half pound weight capacity we are going to get most of our standard and mountain bikes up on here with no trouble. more

Thule Hitching Post Pro Hitch Bike Rack Review - 2018 Toyota Highlander- Video
Today in our 2018 Toyota Highlander, we're going to be test fitting Thule's Hitching Post Pro 4 bike hanging carrier. Our bike is held in place with three straps, two for the top of the frame and one on the vertical shaft to keep it from rattling, preventing any bike to bike contact as well as bike to rack contact.The cradles where our bike sit have grooves in the bottom and this is for your brake cables so that way they'll fit down in the groove and they won't rub or cause any abrasions to the bottom of your bike frame. The straps are adjustable using the multiple holes and they're easy to take on and off. You simply just pull it off the loop and if you're putting it on, you simply pull it down on the loop. We'll now take all of our straps loose, both on top and one on the side and we can remove our bike.Simply lift up and slide the bike off and now you're ready to ride. We'll give you an idea of how far it sticks out. more

Speaker 1: Today on a 2018 Toyota Highlander, we're going to be doing a test fit on the Rocky Mount's Backstage two bike platform rack, part number RKY10002.One of the really cool features about this bike rack, it has two separate ways to give you access to your trunk. The first I'm gonna show you is one that's kind of uncommon with platform racks. It can swing away from your vehicle. We'll undo this bolt that is connected to our blue handle. Once we get that all the way undone, there's a blue pin we'll pull and we'll bring it this way. Once we get out to here, we're gonna tilt it back like this and then go all the way out.As you can see, you have clear and total access to your trunk. more

Speaker 1: Today on our 2018 Toyota Highlander, we're going to be doing a test fit on the Yakima Four Timer four bike platform rack, part number Y02469. One of the really cool features about this bike rack is that right now we have it in a four bike configuration. However, if you just remove this nut and bolt, you can take off a two bike part of it, and minimize it to a two bike rack. That's going to cut down on the space added onto the back of your vehicle. And then just less to haul around if you only have two bikes.Like most platform racks, this one can tilt away from your vehicle while it's fully loaded. We'll pull this gray pin right here, on the other side, let it hang. more

Now this is a modular style platform rack meaning that, if we so choose, with the tightening tools that are including with our bike rack, we could remove as many layers as we choose so we can convert it from a three to a two bike rack. Rola Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2018 Toyota Highlander 59308-4- Video
Speaker 1: Today on our 2018 Toyota Highlander, we're gonna be taking a look at the Rola Convoy Full Bike Platform Rack, and that's gonna be part number 59308-4. We do have a bike installed, so let's take a closer look and show off some of the features of this rack. Now this bike rack has a nice modular design to it. Now what that means, is that with the additional tools that we're gonna get with the bike rack, we can remove each layer as we so choose. So right now, we have it set up for four bikes, but if you only want to carry three bikes for the day, with ease you can't take off the fourth layer, take off that much weight from the back of your vehicle. You can move it to two, or even a one bike rack.If we look at these cradles, we're gonna see that the back of the front wheel cradle can pivot like so, and that's gonna help accommodate to a lot of different sized wheels you might have when hauling around bikes.If we look inside the frame, we're gonna see it can accommodate a lot of different sized tires as well. more

Inno Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2018 Toyota Highlander- Video
Speaker 1: Today on our 2018 Toyota Highlander, we're going to be test fitting the Inno Aero Light Four Bike Rack for inch-1/4 and 2 inch hitches, and that's going to be part number INH640. As you can see, we do have a bike installed, so let's take a closer look and see some of the features.If we start from the outside and work our way in, we're going to see this integrated cable lock system that's going to come out from the base of our rack all the way out. You can wrap it around whatever bikes you might have installed. Then, it inserts into this little spot right here, just like that. You will get a set of keys with your bike rack, so when you want to unlock the cable you simply just slide this little tab up right here, and then you have the insert for your key, unlock your cable, and then you can unload your bikes.If we look at the cradles, we're going to see that they can pivot back and forth, and they can move up and down the rack like so. That's going to help out for any size bike you might have or the spacing you want between your bikes. more

Speaker 1: Today on our 2018 Toyota Highlander, we're going to be test fitting Kuat's Sherpa 2.0 2 Bike Platform Rack. Here we have our Kuat Bike Rack. It's a two bike platform rack so it will carry two bikes. We've got our first bike on here and it's mounted at two points, here in the front on your front tire which locks in and here at the back using a strap on your back tire. This is particularly nice if you have a carbon fiber bike because there is no point of frame contact. While your bike's installed there's an easy to reach handle located here so, you don't have to bend over too far, you can pull it and tilt your bike down. more
