Best 2010 Honda Odyssey Trailer Wiring Options

Today on our 2010 Honda Odyssey, we'll be looking at our trailer wiring options. We have two wiring harnesses, here, today. Right here, we have a Tekonsha T-One vehicle wiring harness, part #118438. Right here, we have the CURT T-connector vehicle wiring harness, part #C56161. These converter boxes, here, will isolate our trailer's wiring from our Honda's wiring, so we don't have to worry about any backfeeding of voltage, or any shorts in the trailer affecting the lights on our Honda, or can damage any of the wiring on it. Both of our wiring harnesses that we have here today feature the standard 4-pole trailer connector. more

Trailer Wiring Harness Installation - 2010 Honda Odyssey

Today on our 2010 Honda Odyssey, we'll be installing the Curt T-Connector Vehicle Wiring Harness with 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector, part number C56161. When we want to hook up to our trailer, all we got to do is drop down some of our wiring here, set it to the side of our trunk latch and we'll close our hatch on down. Take our dust cover off, hook up to our trailer and we're ready to tow safely. When we arrive to our destination, we can unhook from our trailer, replace the dust cover here and we have plenty of room to make it all the way back to our trailer and have plenty of wire to spare. We don't have to worry about it being too short and we have plenty of wire to make our connection. Once we have actually hooked it to our trailer, gone to where we we're going and unhooked our trailer, we will pull the dust cover back on, bundle our wire all up and we can stick it to the side of our trunk where it's out of the way and it's also out of the elements, so we don't have to worry about weather contaminating and causing corrosion inside our wiring harness. This is what our wiring harness consists of. We have our connector here, which will plug into the factory tow package on our vehicle and then a ground wire here, which will attach to the vehicle's body with a self tapping screw. more

Trailer Wiring Harness Installation - 2010 Honda Odyssey 118438

Today on this 2010 Honda Odyssey, we are going to install part number 118438 from Tow Ready. The first thing we need to do is get to the rear of the vehicle. We are going to open up the back hatch. And the first thing that we need to do is remove the rear threshold right here. We will start off by removing the tie-down anchor points right here. And they just unscrew. Alright, and there is a series of clips on the top right here. We will go ahead and undo those. And there are some on the backside here we can simply just pull out with our fingers. Alright, now we are going to do the same thing with this panel here, but we are not going to take it all of the way off. We are just going to loosen it up so we can get behind it. We have one more anchor point that we need to remover here too. We are going to take our lid off of our jack storage compartment and we are going to pop it loose too. And we just need to move just that little bit. That is all we need. 1:07 more
