Today on our 2012 BMW X5, we're going to take a look at and show you how to install the Tow Ready Upgraded Heavy-Duty Modulite Circuit-Protected Vehicle Wiring Harness with Install Kit. The part number is 119190KIT. Here's what the alternative mounting solution looks like. We've got it mounted outside of the car here. What are the uses for trailer wiring What are going to do, of course This is going to provide us the signals we need for whether it's a trailer, cargo carrier, or whatever else that we want to attach here on the back so we can have that lighting at the back. If you did it per the instructions and your wiring is mounted inside, .. This is a sample here, but what we would do, we'd pull it out of the storage area, bring down the amount that we need, and then just allow our door to come down. more

Trailer Wiring Harness Installation - 2008 BMW X5- Video
Today our 2008 BMW X-5 we'll be installing the heavy duty Modulite circuit protected vehicle wiring harness with instillation kit. Part number 119190KIT. To start our install, go to the back hatch and open that up. You want to lower both sections of it so we get access to our panels on the inside we need to remove. We'll go ahead and grab our bottom panel here. Just lift up on the handle, pull up and you can set that out of the way, as we will need access. Underneath here, to our battery located at the rear of the vehicle. Next we'll need to remove these side panels on each side to get access to our tail light wiring. more

Trailer Wiring Harness Installation - 2011 BMW X5- Video
Today on a 2011 BMW X5, we're going to install part number 119190KIT. All right. First thing we're going to do is get inside the back of the vehicle and remove some panels, so we have some working room. First off, we'll go ahead and remove the panels on the side that go behind the tail light, then we'll go ahead and remove the panel and the covering for the battery. Okay. Starting on our driver side, we'll go ahead and remove the wiring going to the tail light. more

Trailer Wiring Harness Installation - 2003 BMW X5- Video
Today on our 2003 BMW XV, we'll be installing part number 119190KIT. To begin our install we'll up the back hatch and tail gate and remove the side panels on both the driver's and passenger's side. We'll need to remove the floor liner as well as the spare tire in order to get to the battery. With the interior removed next, we are going to search for the wires we need to tap into. We'll find them hire in the wire harness assembly going into the tail light. There's a little tab that you can push down on to pull off the socket. more

Trailer Wiring Harness Installation - 2001 BMW X5- Video
Today on this 2001 BMW X5 we are going to install part number 119190. We are also going to use part number 118151 and that is going to be the install kit. The first step is to get inside the vehicle because that is where the wiring harness is and basically what we are going to do next is remove the interior panel before we can get to the wiring itself. We are going to take out the two side panels. The first thing we are going to do is find a wire harness that actually goes directly into the tail light and there is a socket that goes into it so disconnect that, there is a little tab right in the middle. 00:35 more
