Trailer Hitch Installation - 2009 Toyota Matrix - Curt- Video
Speaker 1: Today on our 2009 Toyota Matrix we'll be having a look at and installing the CURT Class 2 trailer hitch receiver, part number C12221. Here's what our hitch looks like installed. As you can see, our hitch is nice and concealed underneath our vehicle. The frame of it is tucked back far enough that you really can't see it unless you're down on the ground looking directly underneath it. You can see our frame here. It's well hidden behind the fascia but you can see it if you're directly on the ground underneath the vehicle.Welded to the bottom of our frame and our receiver tube is our safety chain plate. more

Curt Trailer Hitch Installation - 2009 Toyota Matrix- Video
Speaker 1: Today on our 2009 Toyota Matrix, we'll be having a look at and installing the Curt Class II Trailer Hitch Receiver, part number C12228.Alright, here's what our hitch looks like installed. As you can see, our hitch is tucked up nice and tight underneath our fascia. The only part you really see hanging down is the actual Class 2, inch and a quarter receiver itself, with our safety chain loops welded onto the bottom of it. Now are safety chain loops have a fairly large opening, so we shouldn't have much of a problem hooking up any safety chains even if they are on the larger size.Our receiver has this nice collar that's welded on to the end of it, to give it a nice finished look and to help give it a little bit more durability. On the side of our receiver, you'll find our industry standard half-inch diameter hitch pin hole to secure any of our hitch mounted accessories that we may have.This hitch features a max gross tongue weight rating of 250 pounds, which is the amount of force pushing down, and a max gross trailer weight rating 2500 pounds, which is the amount it can pull. You want to consult with the owner's manual of your Toyota Matrix and not exceed what the vehicle is rated for. more

Trailer Hitch Installation - 2009 Toyota Matrix- Video
Today we are going to be installing Hidden Hitch part number 60898 on a 2009 Toyota Matrix. This installation will also apply for Draw-Tite part number 24812. Okay we are underneath the vehicle and we are looking at the driver-side frame rail here. As you can see at the bottom we have got three existing weld nuts. Those are going to provide our three attaching points for the trailer hitch. That is going to be the same over on the passenger side. It may be necessary to clean the weld nuts out prior to putting the hitch up into position on some models that have seen a winter or two where there might have been some road grime or corrosion built up. more
