Hey everybody, how's it going Today, we're gonna be going over and showing you how to install the etrailer trailer hitch, here on our 2017 GMC Savana van. So, adding a trailer hitch to your vehicle here, it's gonna be an excellent option 'cause it's gonna make it that much more versatile. Now, we can obviously use the trailer hitch for towing, but if we wanted to free up some space inside the vehicle, or, if we wanted to hit the trails, we could easily attach either a hitch-mounted bike rack, or a hitch-mounted cargo carrier. So, in regards to towing, our trailer hitch here is gonna have a 10,000 pound gross trailer weight rating. That's the amount we can pull outward on our fully loaded trailer. And it also has a 1,000 pound tongue weight rating, that's gonna be the downward force on the receiver tube. more

Trailer Hitch Installation - 2012 GMC Savana Van - Curt- Video
Today on our 2012 GMC Savana van we'll be having a look at and installing the Curt Class IV Trailer Hitch Receiver, part number 14090. All right, here's what our hitch looks like installed. As you can see it sits up nice and tight up against our back bumper here. The outer hitch sits back recessed a little bit from the bumper so when we're loading cargo in the back of our van we don't have to worry about running our shin into it. On the bottom of our receiver and on the frame of it we have this angular plate that's welded on, that gives us our safety chain loop attachment points. So nice solid construction there. Now at the end of our receiver here we have this nice welded on collar to help give it some added strength and give it a nice finished appearance. more

Today in our 2013 GMC Savannah, we're going to take a look at and also show you how to install the Curt Extra Duty custom fit trailer hitch receiver offering the two inch by two inch opening. It's part number is C15320. Here's what our hitch is going to look like installed. You'll see we've got a nice heavy, large, square tube. I think the biggest thing that really sets this hitch apart is going to be that nice matte finish to it. This is going to give us really nice corrosion resistance, nice finish on it. more

Today on our 2013 GMC Savana we're going to take a look at, and also show you how to install, the Draw-Tite Max-Frame Custom Fit Class III Trailer Hitch Receiver. This offers the 2-inch by 2-inch opening. Its part number is 75189. Now, here's what our hitch is going to look like installed on our vehicle. We've got out square cross tube here that's going to remain pretty visible. That's going to go into our side brackets, which go up and make our nice, strong, sturdy connections there on our frame. Those are going to come here to the middle, where we've got our receiver tube opening. This is a Class III, so it's a 2-inch by 2-inch receiver tube opening, and it makes it very, very versatile. more

Trailer Hitch Installation - 2014 GMC Savana Van - Draw-Tite- Video
Today on our 2014 GMC Savannah Van, we'll be taking a look at and installing the Draw-Tite Custom Fit Class 5 Trailer Hitch Receiver with Cast Center, part number 41946. Here's what our Draw-Tite ultra frame is going to look like once it's assembled and installed on the back end of our vehicle. It's going to have a real rugged look and design with that cast center piece that you see here. With a durable powder coat and fully welded design, it's going to have years of dependability and superior rust and corrosion resistance, with our massive chain tie-downs on either side, which are going to be really nice, and a really nice large 5/8" pinhole, and a 1/2" pinhole straight ahead of it for your J-pen stabilization device, which is going to help to prevent any kind of sway, rattle and wobble on any of those accessories you may have. You're going to have a large opening here on the end of our receiver tube that's going to be a 2" x 2" receiver tube opening, offering a 1500 pound ton weight capacity and 10,000 pound towing capacity. With weight distribution, that ton weight's going to go down just a little bit to 1300 pounds, but your towing capacity's going to go up to 13,000 pounds. Keep in mind that that's going to be everything that you have loaded up, your trailer and all. more

Today on our 2014 GMC Savana van, we will be taking a look at and installing the Draw-Tite Custom Fit Class 3 Trailer Hitch Receiver, part number 41521. Here's what our Custom Fit Class 3 Trailer Hitch Receiver is going to look like on the back end of our vehicle. It's going to have a real rugged design that's going to be fully welded, so it's going to stand up and be durable over a long period of time. It's going to have a black powder-coat finish that's also going to help prevent any kind of rust and corrosion, and stand up against the road debris and elements. It's going to have a 5/8 inch pinhole going straight through the center for all of our attachments, as well as a 1/2 pinhole directly in front of that for our J-pin stabilization device. The plate-steel design on the bottom is going to add extra strength, as well as be your chain tie-down for a nice, secure mounting point. Here's what our Class 4 Receiver Hitch is going to look like once it's installed. The Curt does a really good job about giving you a really good appearance on the back of your vehicle with that Class 4 Receiver Hitch. It's going to be tucked up underneath the back with a square tube design, black power coat finish and be fully welded which is going to add extra durability and be rust and corrosion resistant. It's going to have that 5/8 inch pinhole going straight through that's going to secure any of your attachments with a fully welded, plate steel design for your chain tie-downs to add extra strength for when you're towing and security, have a 2 inch by 2 inch receiver tube opening for all those 2 inch receiver accessories and offer a 1000 pound tongue weight capacity and 10,000 pound towing capacity. With weight distribution, that's going to go up to 1200 pounds for your tongue weight and 12,000 pounds towing capacity. Trailer Hitch Installation - 2012 GMC Savana Van - Draw-Tite- Video
Today on our 2012 GMC Savana we will be installing the Draw-Tite Max-E-Loader trailer hitch, part number 41521. I'll give you some measurements to help you choose accessories like ball mounts, cargo carriers, and bike rack's. From the top of the receiver tube to the ground is about 17". From the center of the hitch pinhole to the edge of the rear bumper is about 3-3/4". The first thing we need to do is find the mounting locations - one there, one there. We'll come over to the passenger side of the vehicle and we'll mount to those same holes as on the driver side. Here is the hardware we'll be using for the four holes closest to the back of the van. more

With the hitch installed, I'll give you a couple measurements that will help you choose accessories like bike racks, cargo carriers, or ball mounts. From the center of the hitch pin hole to the rear edge of the bumper is about 4", and from the top of the receiver tube to the ground is about 17-1/4". Now let's go see how it's installed. We'll first start by finding our mounting holes on the van. You want it there, there, and we'll use the back hole right back here. We'll use the same holes on the passenger side of the vehicle. This is the hardware we'll be using. We have one block, carriage bolt, and a flange nut. more
