So here's what our trailer hitch is gonna look like installed on our van here. Now, it has a hidden cross tube design, meaning the cross tube is gonna be tucked away behind the bumper. So the only thing we are able to see is the actual receiver tube, which has a nice black powder coated finish. Therefore, it's gonna blend in with the vehicle well, and it's also gonna help protect the hitch from rust and corrosion. more

So adding a trailer hitch your Grand Caravan, it's gonna be an excellent option because it's gonna make your vehicle that much more versatile. Now we can obviously use a trailer hitch for towing, but let's say we wanted to free up some space inside the vehicle for us and the family on those long road trips. Or if we just wanted to hit the trails, we could easily attach either a hitch mounted bike rack, or hitch mounted cargo carrier. So here's what our hitch is going to look like once we have it installed across. The only part you see hanging down is the class two 1 1/4 inch by 1 1/4 inch receiver itself. Now the reason you're gonna want a class two hitch over a class three hitch is that if you already own class two and class one accessories such as bike racks and cargo carriers, this will allow you to still use your old accessories over your new Grand Caravan without having to replace them or get an adapter.Welded onto the bottom of our receiver are our rolled steel safety chain loops. What I like about these is that even though this is a class two hitch, if you have large diameter safety chain hooks such as this one here, it'll still clip on easily. more

As you can see that cross tube is going to remain hidden up behind the inaudible 00:00:18 so you're not going to be adding a lot to the looks of the rear of the vehicle. Just your receiver two opening here and your safety chain connection points. Now, connection points are nice and open, made out of a round, steel stack, so just about any style chain should work out well on there. Here's our inch and a quarter by inch and a quarter receiver tube opening. You'll see the band woven around the end there to act as a reinforcement collar. more

Here's what our hitch is going to look like installed. Nice thing I like about it aesthetically is this crosstube is going to be completely hidden up behind that rear fascia. All we're really going to be adding is going to be our receiver tube opening here and our safety chain connection points. Those connection points you'll see are the rolled steel style. I like those are going to do the job but they're not one of those big plates that take up a lot of room there. more

Today on our 2016 Dodge Grand Caravan we're a going to take a look at and also show you how to install the Curt custom fit class 2 trailer hitch receiver. This offers the inch and a quarter by inch and a quarter opening. It's part number is C12264. Here's what our hitch is going to look like installed. You can see our main cross tube runs from frame to frame here, almost completely hidden, you would never actually be able to see it standing behind the vehicle, you would have to kneel down a little bit so that's nice. What we're left with is just going to be the receiver tube, comes out here to our inch and a quarter by inch and a quarter opening. A flush reinforcement collar around the end there cleans it up, see it's tucked in behind the bumper. Now in installing it, you can see, it's going to push up just slightly here on the rear bumper. more

Today on our 2007 Dodge Grand Caravan, we're going to review and install the Draw-Tite class three two inch receiver tube hitch, part number 75305. Now, here's what our hitch is going to look like once installed. This is a completely steel and fully welded constructed hitch. The entire hitch has a nice black powder coated finish which will resist rust and corrosion that can build up over time. You can see a majority of the hitch is exposed but it blends in nicely with the under body of the vehicle. This is our class three hitch and on either side of the receiver tube is going to be our chain hold down, five eighths pin hole that goes all the way through the receiver tube and our half inch pin hole designed to use with the J pin style anti rattle bolt and lock. Being a class three hitch, it's a two inch by two inch receiver tube opening that's capable of up to three hundred and fifty pounds of tongue weight and a thirty five hundred pound tow capacity. more

Trailer Hitch Installation - 2008 Dodge Grand Caravan - Curt- Video
Today on our 2008 Dodge Grand Caravan, we're going to take a look at and then show you how to install the Curt Custom fit class two trailer hitch receiver. This has the inch and a quarter opening, it's part number is C12264. Here's what our hitch is going to look like once we get it installed on the vehicle so you can see it tucks up nicely right underneath the rear. Not a whole lot of extra that you're going to see, just your safety chain connection points, your receiver tube opening, everything else is hidden up behind the bumper so it gives it a really nice clean look. This is a class two, it's going to be very versatile as far as bike racks, cargo carriers, towing are concerned. It offers a three hundred and fifty pound tongue weight rating, thirty five hundred pound gross trailer weight rating but of course we need to consult the owner's manual of the Caravan to see what it's ratings are and then go off of whichever those numbers are the lowest. We're going to have a half inch pin hole diameter, that's going to work great with most of the half inch pin hole accessories, whether it's an anti rattle bolt, hitch pin and clip, hitch immobilizer. more

Today in our 2013 Dodge Grand Caravan, we'll be installing and taking a look at the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver class II with 1-1/4" opening, part number C12264. Now this is what your new Curt Hitch will look like on your Grand Caravan. As you can see, the cross tube is tucked nicely here behind our bumper. The only thing that sticks out is the receiver tube, so it allows you easy access to putting your accessories into your hitch. You have your chain hold downs right here, that are easy access, and your 1/2" pinhole. This is a class II hitch, so it is rated at 350 pound tongue weight and 3,500 pounds of towing capacity. more

Today on our 2006 Dodge Grand Caravan we'll be installing Hidden Hitch class three 2" receiver tube hitch, part number 87719. Now as you can see it's got a sturdy steel construction with a nice black powder-coated finish. Everything's kept nicely underneath the bumper so it doesn't stick out, with the exception of our receiver tube to make it nice and easy and accessible. This is our class three hitch. Has a tongue weight capacity of 350 pounds and a towing capacity of 3,500 pounds. When added with a weight distribution hitch we can go up to 400 pounds of tongue weight and 4,000 pounds of towing capability. Trailer Hitch Installation - 2007 Dodge Grand Caravan - Curt- Video
Today, on this 2007 Dodge Grand Caravan, we're going to install part number 13389 from Curt. This is what the hitch looks like once installed on the van, from the center of the hitch pin hole to the outside of the bumper will be about 4 inches and from top of the receiver opening down to the ground will be about 13 inches. Our first step to install our hitch, is remove three, 10 millimeter bolts just behind your rear spring shackle. These bolts will be located between the spring shackle and the bumper and the next bolt above the spring, we'll have to remove that one as well. Now, we're done with the driver side. We'll go ahead and repeat the same process over on the passenger side. With all of our hardware removed, we can go ahead and start installing the hitch. We'll take the tab and put it over the spring back by the axle. more

Today on our 2014, Dodge Grand Caravan, we'll be installing the Curt trailer hitch receiver in a class 3, with a 2 inch opening on the receiver, part number 13364. Here's what our hitch looks like installed on our vehicle. Now we'll go ahead and give you a couple measurements in helping you choose some accessories for your hitch, such as a ball mount, a bicycle rack, or a cargo carrier. From the center of the hitch pinhole to the outermost edge of the bumper is approximately 4 inches. From the top of the opening in the receiver to the ground is approximately 13.5 inches. Now let's go ahead and install our hitch. We'll first need to remove one bolt from three different exhaust hangers to lower the exhaust down out of the way to give us access to the two bolts here on the passenger side. The size sockets that you'll need to remove all of the hardware are 13mm to remove the three bolts that hold the exhaust up in place at the hangers. more
