Trailer Brake Controller Installation - 2015 Subaru Outback Wagon

Speaker 1: Today on our 2015 Subaru Outback Wagon, we're gonna be looking at the Tekonsha Prodigy P3 Trailer Brake Controller, part number 90195. Now to help us get it installed, we're going to be using the universal installation kit for trailer brake controllers with a 7-Way RV and 4-Way Flat Connector, part number ETBC7.So here's what our brake controller's going to look like, once we have it installed. Now the thing I really like about this one, is the fact that it's going to be proportional, which means that our brake controller is going to apply the brakes the same time and intensity to our trailer as we push on them in our car. Now it's going to do that, because it's going to have an internal inertia sensor that's going to detect the slowing down, or the deceleration, and apply the brakes accordingly. It's also going to have a really nice big display. It's going to be easy to read, but also not blinding when we're driving down the road. If we come over to the side here and hit the button, can actually go through and change the display as well as the brake type. more

Trailer Brake Controller Installation - 2015 Subaru Outback Wagon 90885

Speaker 1: Today, on our 2015 Subaru Outback Wagon, we're gonna be taking a look at and showing you how to install Tekonsha Prodigy P2 trailer brake controller; part number 90885. And to help us get this installed, we're going to be using wiring kit ETBC7. This is what our brake controller looks like when it's installed. It's gonna provide braking to your trailer. This is going to be a proportional brake controller, which means that the braking force on the trailer is going to match the deceleration on your vehicle. What that means is that your trailer and your car are gonna slow down at the same rate, as opposed to the time delayed, where your car would slow down, and your trailer may not slow down quite as fast, so that means your car would be slowing down the trailer also. So, you can see, we have our brake controller connected. more
