Hi, I'm Shane with etrailer.com. Today, I'm going to walk you through how to install Roadmaster's diode wiring kit on your 2017 Ford Taurus flat tow setup. Being able to flat tow your vehicle behind your motor home is going to make it a lot easier when you get to your campsite, because you're going to be able to leave the motor home set up. We're going to have another vehicle to get us to the store or to go exploring. The diode wiring kit is going to be one of the six main components needed to flat tow the Taurus.Our diode wiring kit is going to allow vehicle to receive light functions from the RV while it's being flat-towed so that not only we're safe, but everyone else is safe also; so they know what we're doing, whether it's braking, turning or driving at night.This cable is going to give you your 7-pole end for your RV, your 6-pole end for your vehicle, and the straight cable is going to allow you to send it through the channel on the tow bar to help keep it up off the ground and keep it from dragging and getting damaged. Roadmaster Tow Bar Wiring Kit Installation - 2008 Ford Taurus- Video
Today, on this 2008 Ford Taurus, were going to install part number RM-154 from Roadmaster. To start off, were going to get in the back of the vehicle. Well open up the trunk. Were going to get access to the wiring that goes to our taillights. Well go ahead and remove the rear threshold and then go ahead and remove the fasteners for interior panels as well. Now, once we have these fasteners removed, well just go ahead and take the panels and just fold them back towards the front to keep them out of our way. Now, well go ahead and pull the wire harness away from the body work as well with where the fasteners are at just to make it a little easier to work with. Now, youll see our wiring completely. more
