Today, we're taking a look at this one, this will probably be your more premium option as far as ski and snowboard carriers. A great feature is that it also doubles as a fishing rod carrier that will carry up to six poles. But what makes it great is that you can keep it on all year round, it is aerodynamic, but it locks into itself with these straps as well as a Same Key System on all the lock cores right here. Notice that we have these giant buttons for when you have your big winter gloves, easy to open and to load and unload your gear. more

Hey everyone, Charles here at etrailer, and today, we're taking a look at the Rhino-Rack Ski and Snowboard Carrier on the 2020 Chevrolet Equinox. So this carrier will allow you to carry four pairs of skis or two snowboards, right now we just have a pair of each, and if we scooted them closer, we could actually get two pairs of skis and a snowboard on here, but it's gonna be made out of a durable aluminum, so it's gonna be rust-free and corrosion-resistant. I like these buttons, 'cause they stick out and you could wear your thick, heavy winter gloves and still pop them open with just a simple judo chop. Super easy to load and unload just like that. On the inside, you're gonna have a thick rubber material here, keeping your gear snug and secure. The rubber also helps maintain traction for when your gear's wet from the snow, and a great thing about this is that they also double as a fishing rod holder, can carry up to six fishing poles easily with this, so you can keep them on all year round for your winter sports and then in the summertime for when you go fishing. more

Yakima PowderHound Ski and Snowboard Carrier Review - 2007 Chevrolet Suburban- Video

Today on a 2007 Chevrolet Suburban we're going to test-fit the Yakima PowderHound Roof-Mounted Locking Ski and Snowboard Carrier, part number Y03081. One thing to note about this rack here is that you notice how we have an angle going up. This has a provision built into the kit where you can ramp it up like a inaudible 00:00:18 to give you some extra room for your bindings. Now in this case, you probably didn't need them, but if you have ski bindings that are really tall and might hit your roof, then this is a good option to have installed on your vehicle. Also, you can put a snowboard AND some skis on there, depending on the size of your equipment. It does come with a couple keys; there's a lock on each half of the ski carrier to secure your items. If you notice, we take a closer look at the rubber part on our equipment. It gets a nice grip on it yet it cushions it and also keeps it from moving around. Again, this is intended to haul two snowboards or four sets of skis. Next we're going to take a few moments and show you how we install this on the roof rack. more

We'll place the black buckle of the strap closest to us under the foot of the carrier. We'll then open our top jaw, reach in, and lift the black lever. We'll want to loosen this slightly. This will disengage the small gray catch. more

Today on our 2014 Chevrolet Cruze we're going to be test fitting the Whispbar Locking Rooftop Ski and Snowboard Carrier. With a 6-ski or 4-board capacity, its part number is WB-300. With the Yakima Q Towers Roof Rack System already installed on our vehicle we'll begin by grabbing the front half of our carrier. We'll place it onto our front load bar, bring the black rubber coated metal strap around the underside, and fit it back into the carrier. We'll then open our top jaw, lift the black lever, releasing the gray catch. We'll then close the black buckle and secure it in place by pushing down on the black lever which will engage the gray catch. With this side tight we'll move to the driver side and repeat that same tightening process. more

We're then going to open the top jaw of the carrier, lift up on the black lever located inside. We'll now cam our buckle closed, tighten down that lever slightly, and push it back down into position. more

We'll flip up the thumb tab, tighten it, and then push it back down. We'll move to the other side and repeat this process. Now we'll grab the other half of our carrier and place it onto our rear bar. Whispbar Roof Ski and Snowboard Carrier Review - 2012 Chevrolet Camaro- Video

Today on our 2012 Chevrolet Camaro we'll be test fitting the Whispbar locking rooftop ski and snowboard carrier with a 6-ski or 4-board capacity, part number WB-300. With the Yakima round bar roof rack system assembled onto our vehicle we'll begin the test fit by placing half of our carrier onto the front part of our roof. We'll bring the strap around the bar fitting it back into the foot of the carrier, clipping it down into position. We'll then repeat that process for the other side. We'll grab the second half of our carrier and place it onto the roof rear part of our roof. We'll bring the rubber-coated strap around the crossbar, fitting it back into the foot of the carrier and clipping it down into position. Again, we can repeat that process for the other side. When putting on the second half of our carrier, we want to make sure that it's in line with the front half. Now, to finish securing our carriers, we'll open the jaw by pressing the over-sized button on the end of our carrier. On the inside we'll find a tab that we can flip up and hand tighten. Once we get it tight we can push it back down. We'll do this for the other side. We'll put up the jaw here at the rear bar and repeat the same tightening process that we do at the front. With our jaws open we'll go ahead and slide in our snowboard. We'll close the jaws firmly and then we're ready to go. Please know that you have about 20 inches from crossbar to crossbar. more

Yakima FatCat Ski and Snowboard Carrier Review - 2013 Chevrolet Silverado- Video

Today, on our 2013 Chevrolet Silverado, we'll be test-fitting the Yakima FatCat 6 Locking Rooftop Ski and Snowboard Carrier, with a 6-ski or 4-board capacity, part #Y03088. With a Yakima Roundbar Roof Rack System assembled unto our vehicle, we will begin our test today by placing the front half of the Yakima Fatcat directly onto our front crossbar. Here on the passenger side, we will bring the rubber strap around the bar, fitting it back under the foot of the carrier. We'll move to the other side, and repeat the same process. Then, we will come back to the passenger side, and press the oversized button here on the end of the carrier to open our jaws. We will flip up the thumb tab, and tighten it down until our strap is tight around our crossbar. more

Whispbar Roof Ski and Snowboard Carrier Review - 2013 Chevrolet Silverado- Video

Today on our 2013 Chevrolet Silverado, well be test fitting the Whispbar Locking Rooftop Ski and Snowboard Carrier with a six ski or four board capacity, part number WB-300. With the Yakima round bar roof rack system assembled on to our vehicle, well begin our test fit by placing half of our carrier on to our front crossbar. Here on the passenger side, well bring the rubber-coated strap around our bar, fitting it back into the foot of the carrier. Once we have set it in place, we can then clamp it down. Well press the oversize button here on the end of the carrier to open our jaw. Now, well move to the driver side, bring our strap around, fitting that back into the front of the carrier and clamping it down and then using the thumb tab screw on the inside to tighten our strap around our bar.Well move back to the passenger side and tighten down our thumb tab screw. more

Yakima FatCat Ski and Snowboard Carrier Review - 2013 Chevrolet Tahoe- Video

Today on our 2013 Chevy Tahoe, we'll be test fitting the Yakima FatCat 6 Locking Rooftop Ski and Snowboard Carrier, part number Y03088. To begin our test fit, we'll set the first part of the carrier onto the front cross bar. We'll bring the rubber coated steel straps around the underside of the cross bar and hook them into position. We'll then turn the red knob on the inside top part of the bracket to tighten down the straps. We'll then open up the carrier to expose the black levers. We'll tighten down the black levers and clamp them down into position, securing the carrier to the vehicle. more

Yakima FatCat Ski and Snowboard Carrier Review - 2010 Chevrolet Cobalt- Video

Today on our 2010 Chevy Cobalt, well be test fitting the Yakima Fatcat 6 Locking Rooftop Ski and Snowboard Carrier, part number Y03088.Now to begin our test fit, we'll set the first part of the carrier onto the front crossbar. We'll bring the rubber coated metal straps around the underside of the front crossbar. We'll open up the carrier to have access to the clamp on the inside. We'll clamp the end of the rubber coated steel strap into position and on the inside of the carrier, tighten down the lever and snap them into position. We'll then repeat this for the other side of the carrier.Note, that you cannot tighten down to secure the carrier to the crossbars without having access to the levers on the inside of the carrier.Now that the front carrier is secured to the vehicle, we'll set the rear part of the carrier onto the rear crossbar and we'll repeat the same steps. By opening up the carrier, bringing the rubber coated steel straps around the underside of the crossbar and snapping them into position.We'll then tighten down the levers on the inside of the carrier and secure them. more
