Colin: Hey everyone. It's Colin here at etrailer. Today, we have a 2015 Subaru Crosstrek and we've been testing some roof racks on it. And right now, we have the Thule WingBar Evo roof rack system installed. And this is a roof rack that has been designed to mount to your raised side rails of your Crosstrek.And this is going to allow you to get your favorite rooftop accessories loaded up, whether you want to carry a bike up there, maybe have a kayak or even a cargo box that you can load up with some luggage and some other cargo and conserve on space on the inside of your Crosstrek.Now, with this roof rack system, up top we're going to have our 47" long WingBar Evo crossbars. These are going to be what you mount all your accessories to. more

Speaker 1: Today on our 2014 Subaru XV Crosstrek, we're gonna be test fitting the Rhino-Rack Vortex Aero roof rack system, consisting of part numbers RRVA118B-2. These are the Vortex Aro crossbars, black in color and 46" long. These also come in silver as part number RRVA118S-2. We'll also be using part number RRSX100 and these are the Rhino-Rack SS legs for the Vortex Aero crossbars, particularly for the factory raised side rails. The Vortex Aero roof rack system is great for carrying a wide variety of accessories on your roof while freeing up space inside your vehicle. Another thing to consider with this roof rack system is that you're able to loosen these up and move these back and forth to accommodate your accessories as well. more

Speaker 1: Today on our 2014 Subaru XV Crosstrek we'll be taking a look at and showing you how to install the Yakima railbar crossbars, part number Y00433-0434. Now keep in mind that these bars are also available in black with part number Y00448-0449. The Yakima railbar system is a great solution for carrying your vehicle accessories on your roof whether those are bike racks, ski and snowboard carriers, or cargo baskets. The aerodynamic shape of our bars as well as the weatherstrip on the inside are going to help to reduce wind noise and drag. Our bars are also going to be made out of a lightweight aluminum with a coating to prevent any scratches or abrasions.If we remove our cover, you can see that our weatherstrip is easily pushed down to allow for those channel mounted accessories. Our bolts here in the center underneath our cover on our tower is going to tighten and loosen up our clamps. more

Today on our 2014 Subaru XV Crosstrek we're going to be test fitting the Malone Steeltop Universal Roof Rack for Raised Side Rails, part number MPG201. The Malone Steeltop Universal Roof Rack system is a universal roof rack system designed to work with your factory raised side rails. These are square bars, so they work with a wide variety of rooftop accessories such as bike racks, kayak carriers or cargo baskets, and they also come equipped with locks on the end so you can actually secure these to your factory raised side rails once they're installed. Together the two bars hae a combined carrying capacity of 165 pounds, though you always want to double check with your vehicle's manual to make sure your roof can withstand those weights. This is a very easy and simple installation for your side rails, and comes with all the tools necessary to install it. Now that we've gone over some of the features of the roof rack system, let's go ahead and show you how it installs. To start off, we'll unlock our end caps, pulling off those pieces there. That's going to expose the Allen head screw we need to loosen up the clamp. more

Today in our 2014 Subaru XT Crosstrek, we're going to be test fitting the Yakima roof-rack system, consisting of part number Y00408. These are the 48-inch crossbars. Part number Y03536, and these are the round-bar SL adapter kits for the Yakima Baseline, Skyline, and Timberline, and Ridgeline towers, and part number Y00147. These are the Timberline towers for Yakima crossbars, specifically for the raised factory side rails. The Yakima roof-rack system is great for carrying a wide variety of accessories on your roof, ranging from bike racks to cargo baskets, to cargo boxes, to water-sport carriers, such as for Kayaks and canoes. To carry these items on your roof, you have two very strong and durable crossbars that have a carrying capacity of 220 pounds, although always double check with your vehicle's manual to make sure your vehicle can withstand that weight on its roof. This is very easy to install. It simply wraps around the factory raised side rails of your vehicle, and can fit multiple cars with these factory side rails. more

Today, on our 2014 Subaru XV Crosstrek, we're going to be dong a test fit on the Thule Rapid Crossroad Roof rack system using the 53 inch Thule Aero Blades. The part numbers are TH450R and THARB53. To begin our test fit, we're going to place the front half of our roof rack up here onto the front roof line of the vehicle. As we do it, we're going to try to get the black rubber coated straps around the underside of our side rails. It's kind of sometimes hard to do there on the driver's side from this side. We're going to use our fixed point here, where the side rail meets the front, we're going to measure back from that 2 inches to the leading edge of our foot pack. more

Today on our 2013 Subaru XV Crosstrek well be test fitting the Thule Square Load Bar System using part numbers thlb50 for the 50-inch steel bars, and part number th450 for the Thule Crossroad Roof Mounted Roof Railing Foot Pack. With our roof rack assembled according to the instructions well begin our test fit by placing our front bar onto the front part of our roof. To insure that we have this bar set right, we need to find a fixed point on the side rails and measure back to the leading edge of the foot packs. Theres a gap here at the front of the side rails, and well measure 2 inches to the leading edge of our foot pack. Well do this measurement for both sides of the vehicle to insure that our feet are in line with each other. Once we have that in place we can then check for even bar overhang on each side of our vehicle. more

Well go ahead and check and make sure that we have even bar overhang on each side of our vehicle. Then well want to find a fixed point on our side rails to measure back to the leading edge of our foot pack. Well do this measurement for both sides to ensure that our feet are in line with each other. more

Today on our 2013 Subaru XV Crosstrek well be test fitting the Thule Aeroblade Edge Roof Rack for raised factory side rails, part number th7502-th7502. To begin our test fit well grab one of our bars and place it on the front part of our roof. Well remove the black plastic covers on the top and go ahead and install our straps. On one side of the straps youll see four slots numbered one through four. These different slots are to accommodate the different size of side rails that are out there. The other side of the strap has two holes. more
