Thule Crossroad Loadbars Roof Rack Installation - 2011 Ford Explorer

Today, on our 2011 Ford Explorer, we'll be test fitting the Thule Crossroads Roof Rack System using part numbers THLB58 and TH450. With our roof rack system assembled according to the instructions, we'll begin our test fit by placing the front bar onto the front part of our side rails. We'll want to make sure that the arrow indicator on our foot pack is in line with the center of our side rail. Then we can check to make sure that we have even bar overhang on each side. To ensure that our feet are in line with each other, we need to find a fixed point on the side rails to set each foot at or take a measurement from that fixed point back to the closest point of our foot pack. We're going to measure four inches from this point back to our foot pack. We'll do this measurement on both sides to ensure that our feet are in line with each other. more

With the roof rack assembled according to the instructions, we'll begin our test fit by placing our front bar under the front part of our side rails. We'll go ahead and set our Flip pacs on this side rail and then bring the rubber coated strap around the rail. We want to make sure that the arrow indicated on the Flip pac is in line with the center of our side rail and that we have even bar hanging on this side. Now to make sure that our Flip pacs are in line with each other, we either need to set them according to a fix point on our side rail or we need to make a measurement from from a fix point. Here at the front of the side rail, we're going to take our measuring tape and measure four inches back to the beginning of our Flip pac. We'll do this measurement on both sides to make sure that our feet are in line with each other. more
