Swagman Fork Down Roof Bike Rack Review - 2013 Kia Sportage

Today on our 2013 Kia Sportage, well be test fitting the Swagman Fork Down Roof-Mounted Bike Rack, part number S64710. We'll begin our test fit by placing the bike rack onto the vehicle's crossbars. We will then bring out our hardware starting with the front well take the silver bracket to go in underside of the front crossbar and insert them into the pre-drilled holes at the front of the bike rack. We will then thread on our black wing nuts and repeat these steps for the other side.We will then move to the rear, where this time we will just slide the silver bracket down through the predrilled holes in the bike rack and bring the black plate up against the underside of the rear crossbar, again using the black wing nut to tighten it down. We will then make sure all of the wing mats are fully tightened down and were ready to load our bike. We will double check to make sure our skewer is loose at the front and will undo the strap.We will place our bike onto the bike rack, sliding the forks down onto the skewer. more

RockyMounts TieRod Stretch Roof Bike Rack Review - 2013 Kia Sportage

Today on our 2013 Kia Sportage we'll be test fitting the RockyMounts TieRod Stretch Roof Mounted Bike Rack, part number rky1011. We'll begin our test fit by placing the bike rack onto the vehicle's crossbars. We'll loosen up the Allen bolts at the rear to bring the rear bracket on the underside of the rear crossbar.We'll then move to the front where we'll remove the black plastic cover and bring the rubber-coated steel straps around the underside of the front crossbar and hook them into the connection points. We'll then use the included Allen key to tighten down the silver bolt to bring the straps tightly up against the front bar.We'll then move to the rear to finish tightening down the Allen bolts for the rear bracket. Once everything is all tightened down and secured we're ready to load up our bike. We'll replace the black plastic cover at the front and double check to make sure our skewer is loose so our forks can slide down onto it.We'll undo the tray straps at the rear and place our bike onto the bike rack. more

Thule Domestique Roof Bike Rack Review - 2008 Kia Sportage

Today on this 2008 Kia Sportage well be test fitting the Thule Domestique Roof-Mounted Bike Carrier part number TH513. Our Sportage already has a full roof rack from the factory installed on it, so we can just go ahead and set our carrier on top of this roof system. Well fit the front clamp around our front bar and well use the included Allen key to tighten it down. Once weve done that we can go ahead and re-install our front skewer. At the rear well fit the clamp around our rear bar and again use the Allen key to tighten it down. Well set the rear wheel into the tray and position the front fork down into the skewer. more

RockyMounts TieRod Roof Bike Rack Review - 2008 Kia Sportage

Today on our 2008 Kia Sportage, we are going to be test fitting the RockyMounts TieRod Roof Mounted Bike Carrier, part number RKY1014. Our Sportage is already equipped with a full factory roof rack system, so were going to mount our tierod directly to the factory crossbars. To do this, well set the carrier up on top of the crossbars, well then take the rubber coated steel strap at the front of the carrier, wrap them around our crossbars and re-secure them to the head. At this point we can go ahead and tighten it down with an Allen key. At the rear of the vehicle we will take the clamp, fit it around our rear crossbar and use the wing nuts to tighten down the rear clamp. Once thats all done our bike rack is installed and were ready to start putting a bike on. more
