Hi everyone. It's Evangeline here at Etrailer, and today we'll be taking a look at our Swagman Chinook 2 Bike Platform Rack right here on our 2020 Jeep Cherokee. So the Swagman Chinook is what I would call the middle of the road bike rack, for your Swagman line of bike racks. So you can go really extra weight capacity with a Swagman E-spec, you can go with a lot less features, which is a Swagman XC2, or you can go with these Swagman Chinook where you have slightly above weight capacity, with all of those integrated locks and good wheel straps that you would expect from a nicer Swagman bike rack. So we'll take a look at this bike rack just to see if it's the right fit for your bicycles, as well as your Jeep Cherokee. So the first feature we'll take a look at is the tilt away feature. more

Now, what's great about this bike rack in particular is how sturdy and strong it is because it can handle bikes up to 70 pounds per bike. So your big, heavy e-bikes, they'll work perfectly on it. It also has some nice sliding cradle features, which means it can handle bikes of all different shapes and sizes.Before mounting on my bike, what I like to do, especially for my bike is to take off this mount just for extra maneuverability, then I put the bike on there. Today on our 2015 Jeep Cherokee, we're going to be taking a look at the Thule Hitching Post Pro hitch mounted bike rack.One of the big questions we get asked in regards to these hitch mounted bike racks, is if you're still going to be able to have full access to the back of your Jeep. This one does fold down out of the way and allows us to do that down here. Pull this keeper off, slide this pin out, and this drops down and actually goes down quite a bit. Goes down more than a lot of the other racks. But with that said, it's going to give us a ton of space and room to open up our hatch, get whatever we might need in and out of the back of our Jeep. more

Now it's a hanging style which means it's going to use the top cross tube to strap our bike in, and we're also going to have a third attachment point right down here. That's going to be that anti-sway cradle, so the bike doesn't move too much, and we prevent that bike to bike contact.But we're going to go ahead and remove our bikes so we get a closer look. Thule Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2014 Jeep Cherokee- Video

Today on our 2014 Jeep Cherokee we're going to be taking a look at the Thule DoubleTrack Pro 2 Bike Platform Rack, part number TH9054. Now we already have our bike mounted and it's going to mount using three different attachment points. Now each wheel's going to have a strap going through and it's going to have a rubber coating to protect our wheels. If we come to the back side, there's going to be a gray button and if we push on that button, we can go ahead and pull our strap out. We can do the same thing on the back wheel as well. With the wheel straps loose, we come to the knob on the back and we can loosen up our clamp. We rotate it out of the way. more

Saris Freedom Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2014 Jeep Cherokee- Video

Today on our 2014 Jeep Cherokee, we're going to be test-fitting the Saris Freedom, a platform style tilting four-bike rack for two inch hitches, part number SA4414B. To begin our test-fit we're going to slide the shank of the bike rack into the receiver tube of our hitch. We'll then line up out pin holes and thread in our anti-rattle bolt. We'll tighten it down with our wrench and secure it with our lock. With our rack in this position, we'll have about 11 inches worth of ground clearance. The closest point of the rack to the back of the Cherokee is about 2 and three quarters of an inch, and overall we've added about 15 1/2 inches to the length of the vehicle. Pulling the grey level at the top of the rack, it will allow us to tilt it away from our vehicle into the platform position. As you can see, this does give us access to the rear hatch. more
