Swagman Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2020 Hyundai Santa Fe- Video

Hi there Hyundai owners, today on your 2020 Hyundai Santa Fe, we're going to be taking a look at Swagman's XC2 two-bike platform rack. This two-bike platform rack's gonna be great for mountain bikes, or larger bikes as well, up to a tire width of about three inches. So you can put just about anything on here, and they do have staggeredness to them so that way you don't have to worry about your handlebars contacting. And we have frame contact that holds our bike into place. So this is gonna ensure that it stays in there very solid and that our bike's not gonna go anywhere. Now because this is a frame contacting bike, I don't recommend this for carbon fiber bikes as it could potentially damage the frame due to the vibrations. more

Thule Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2019 Hyundai Santa Fe- Video

Today on our 2019 Hyundai, Santa Fe, we're going to be taking a look at the Thule Helium Pro platform style bike rack.The rack that we have here today is a two bike version, but there's also a one bike version available as well. But with that being said, one of the things that really separates this platform style rack compared to some of the others, is that it uses two wheel hooks, one on each tire. So, that's going to work out really well for those of you that have those carbon fiber bikes, you won't have to worry about any frame contact.Now, a lot of times with platform racks, when you get a couple of bikes on them, you run into the issue of putting that second bike on there and having interference with your seat, the second bikes handlebars can get jammed up and it can be a real hassle sometimes. That's not going to be the case with this one and that's because we're able to offset our bike. So if loosen up our wheel hooks a little bit, you're actually able to roll the bike one way or another, and clamp it back down. more

Which means it might not be the best option if you have a carbon fiber bike like more expensive bikes, you're worried about scratching, the frame or indenting or anything like that if these straps. If you're just worried about any of that, this is probably not the way to go. You'd want to put it on a platform rack. more

Now, this rack holds up to two bikes, however, if you need to carry an additional one, there is a three bike version available.One thing I did notice we can actually fold the center mass down. with the lever up and swing it away from the car. That way we're going to have plenty of room to get all of our stuff in and out of our hatch. Now, my favorite thing about this rack is that it's made from aluminum. The center mass does fold down to allow us to get access to our hatch, and to do that we'll come down here towards the bottom. It's going to be a pin here that we need to remove, but something I want to point out whenever we remove this pin, there's not going to be anything stopping our rack to come towards the vehicle. So whenever we do this, we want to make sure you got a hand on the rack to support it. Go ahead and remove the clip from the other side of the pin, pull it out, and we can swing it down. more

Our RockyMounts Westslope is going to allow us to carry two bikes to and from the trail and alleviate the problem of trying to get all the bikes inside of our Santa Fe. And since it's a platform style rack, what that means is it's going to hold our bike, but it's not going to have any frame contact at all. So we don't have to worry about scratching the finish, and it's going to be great for those road bikes that have those carbon frames.It'll secure the back tire using wheel strap to hold it in place. And on the front it's going to use this wheel spoke, so it's only going to be contacting the tire.One of the really nice things about the platform style rack too, is if we need to get in the back hatch, we can actually tilt the bike rack away without removing the bikes. more

Now, with the Hitching Post Pro secured to our Santa Fe, we'll go over a few clearance measurements to see how the 2 fit together. We have about 15 inches of ground clearance to the rear. The closest part of the carrier to the closest part of our Santa Fe is here at the rear bumper about 7 inches away, and with the cradle arms down, we've added about 17 inches to the overall length of our vehicle. We'll now pull the gold pin at the top of the mast to swing the cradle arms out, and with the cradle arms out, we've added about 38 inches to the overall length of our vehicle. To access the cargo area, we'll pull the gold pin at the base of the carrier to tilt the mast down. more

We'll now lift the gray lever at the top of the mast to swing the cradle arms out and with the cradle arms out we've added about 36 inches to the overall length of our vehicle. To access the cargo area we'll lift up the gray lever at the base of the carrier to tilt the mast down. Now as you can see we can easily gain access to the rear hatch of our Santa Fe. To load the bike we'll make sure the mast is in its upright position. We'll undo the cradle straps, place our bike into the frame cradles and secure with the straps. That complete today's test fit for the Thule Apex 4-Bike Carrier Part No. more

Today on our 2012 Hyundai Santa Fe we'll be test fitting the Yakima Doubledown Ace four bike carrier, part number Y02451. Now to begin our test fit we'll slide the shank of the carrier into the opening of the hitch, line up our pin holes, insert the attached pin into the pin hole and turn the black knob to engage our anti-rattle bolt. Now we'll go over some clearance measurements to see how the bike carrier and this vehicle will fit together. There is about 11 inches of ground clearance. Thule Vertex 4 Hitch Bike Rack Review - 2012 Hyundai Santa Fe- Video

Today on our 2012 Hyundai Santa Fe we'll be test fitting the Thule Vertex four bike carrier, part number TH9029. We have about 6 inches of clearance between the closest part of the bike rack and the closest part of the vehicle. Overall, we've added about 23 inches of additional length to the rear of the vehicle. more

Pro Series Q-Slot Hitch Bike Rack Review - 2008 Hyundai Santa Fe- Video

Today on our 2008 Hyundai Santa Fe, well be test fitting part number PS63134. This is the Pro Series Q Slot Platform Style Two Bike Carrier for both 1-1/4 and 2-inch hitches. Now to begin our installation, using the included adaptor for the 2-inch hitch, well slide our bike rack shank into the hitch, line up the hitch pin hole and install our hitch pin. Well then put the safety pin on the other side of our hitch pin which will secure our bike rack to the vehicle. Well now go ahead and give you a few measurements. Our ground clearance at the back of the bike rack is 15 inches and from the closest point of the bike rack to the back of the vehicle is 6 inches. more
