Thule Apex 4 Swing Hitch Bike Rack Review - 2010 Ford Escape

Today on our 2010 Ford Escape, we'll be test fitting the Thule Apex Swing 4-bike carrier, part number TH9027. We'll begin our test fit by sliding the shank of the bike rack into the opening of the hitch. We'll allow the integrated hitch pin to fall into place, and we'll secure it to the vehicle by turning the black knob to engage the anti-rattle device. We'll now go over a few clearance measurements to see how the two fit together. We have about 16" of ground clearance. With the cradle arms folded down, we've added about 14" to the overall length of our vehicle. more

Yakima DoubleDown Ace 2 Bike Rack Review - 2010 Ford Escape

Today on our 2010 Ford Escape, well be test fitting the Yakima DoubleDown Ace Two Bike Carrier, part number Y02450. Well begin our test fit by sliding the shank of the bike rack into the opening of the hitch, installing our pin with the red knob and securing the bike rack to the vehicle by turning the black knob at the back of the shank to engage the anti-rattle device. Well now go over a few clearance of measurements to see how the two fit together. We have about 19 inches of ground clearance. The closest part of the vehicle to the closest part of the carrier is about 7-1/2 inches away. With the cradle arms folded down, weve added about 13 inches to the overall length of our vehicle. more

Well begin our test fit by sliding the shank of the bike rack into the opening of the hitch, allowing the integrated hitch pin to fall into place and securing it with the black knob to engage the anti-rattle device. Well now go over a few clearance of measurements to see how the two fit together. We have about 17 inches of ground clearance. With the cradle arms folded down, weve added about 14 inches to the overall length of our vehicle. Well now pull the grey lever at the top of the mast to swing the cradle arms out. more
