Kuat Piston Pro 3 Bike Rack Review - 2023 Cadillac XT5- Video
Hi, Matt with etrailer. Today we're gonna be talking about the Kuat Piston Pro bike rack on our 2023 Cadillac XT5. Now this does come in a couple different other versions. Today we have the three bike version, but you can get this as a two or four bike version. Another thing I'd like to add that this is a pretty heavy carrier, close to 100 pounds, and the Cadillac doesn't have a super high tongue weight unless you have the trailering package. If you have the trailering package, then this one's gonna be just fine for you. more

Yakima RidgeBack Bike Rack Review - 2023 Cadillac XT4- Video
Hey, it's Ethan here at etrailer. Today we're gonna be taking a look at the Yakima RidgeBack on the back of our 2023 Cadillac XT4. The RidgeBack is a four-bike hanging-style bike rack capable of supporting four bikes up to 40 pounds each, holding them in place primarily on the top tube by these cradles, featuring this anti-sway cradle in the back to help limit that back and forth movement, but it does make contact the frame, obviously, to hold the bike so we don't recommend using these types of frames for carbon frame bikes. And if you do have an alternative frame-style bike, you might need to get a bike adaptor bar to make that work. One of the nice features that this bike rack does offer is the ability to tilt away, but we'll have to get the biker removed to do that. Starting first with this anti-sway zip strip, you just pull 'em out, you pinch the sides on either, and you do have to soar these somewhere, but we found that this spot in the back, it's pretty useful for holding them in place while you're getting 'em off. more

Curt Premium 4 Bike Rack Review - 2023 Cadillac XT4- Video
Hey, it's Ethan here at Etrailer. Today we're gonna be taking a look at the Curt Premium bike rack on the back of our 2023 Cadillac XT4. Curt Premium is a hanging style bike rack that will make contact with the bike, primarily by the frame. Holding it in place by these two rotating cradles, and then one anti-sway cradle in the back. So if you do wanna use this bike rack, and you have a carbon frame bike, we definitely recommend against it 'cause it does make frame contact, and it can damage it while you're driving. But the premium does have this nice feature where it tapers down at the end so you can accommodate some kids' bikes without the need for a bike adapter bar. more

Now, the monorail is a two-bike platform style bike rack capable of supporting two bikes up to 60 pounds each, held primarily in place by these wheel hooks and one strap on the back. Now, one of the nicer features that this rack does offer is that it doesn't make frame contact, so you're not gonna be worrying about damaging carbon frame bikes, if you choose to use those, while you're driving, and it accommodates alternative frame bikes as well. The rack can tilt away by using this blue lever down here at the bottom. I like to hold onto the frame while I do it, and slowly guide it down. more

Hey, it's Ethan here at etrailer. Today we're gonna be taking a look at the Hollywood Racks Destination, on the back of our 2023 Cadillac XT4. The Destination is a two-bike platform-style bike rack capable of supporting two bikes up to 35 pounds each, held in place primarily on the center mast by these rotating clamps, they do rotate 360 degrees, and they're padded to support your bike as much as they can, but they do make frame contact so we definitely don't recommend using carbon frame bikes, so this can get damaged while you're driving, but the fact that they do move up and down and rotate should help support some alternative frame bikes. The rack itself does not tilt away with the bikes loaded so we do have to remove the bike to get the back open. So we can start doing that just by first releasing this strap in the back and then the strap in the front. The same way just by using these gray levers. more

First impression of the rack on the back of the Escalade, really simple, you know, this is going to be able to hold down two bikes and it's to be a great kind of entry-level, economical way to carry your bikes around. So if you're someone that, you know, rides occasionally, you know, kind of on them nice days or whatever, definitely gonna get the job done. If you're someone that's out a couple times a week, every weekend, something like that, you know, there's some better options that are more well-built and everything, but, for, you know, the job that this has to do, it does really good at it. So first impressions of the rack on the back of the Escalade is I think it looks really good. Actually two outs are very well-built and, you know, put together very nicely. And I feel like that's really important, especially on the back of a vehicle like the Cadillac, you know, you don't want to have a super nice truck and some flimsy cheap bike rack hanging off the back of it. But that said, one of the really neat things about this one is it's it's you kind of customize it if you will. So it's available in three different colors, so you can kind of pick which one you like the best or which one matches the Escalade. more

Right off the bat, first thing I noticed is the fact that this looks pretty slick on our 2020 Escalade. It's really, really sharp, right Also, what I like is the fact that this is wheel mounted. So, we can get most of our carbon frame bikes on here, and a lot of our other bikes that max out around 40 pounds. So the rack that we have here today can hold up to a total of four bikes, but if you're looking to carry an additional one, there's a five bike version available as well. Now with that being said, kind of my first impressions, I think this going to be a great, manageable, easy way to carry around a lot of bikes. And honestly, I think, if you're someone that likes to leave their bike rack on maybe through the week and not have to deal with it when the weekend rolls around and you want to go ride, I think this actually looks pretty good on the back of the Cadillac as well.So before we get too carried away, I just want to address one of the big questions that we always get asked in regards to hitch-mounted bike racks, and that's if you're going to be able to have full access to the back of your SUV. more

SportRack Super EZ Hitch Bike Rack Review - 2011 Cadillac SRX- Video
Today on our 2011 Cadillac SRX we'll be test fitting the SportRack Super EZ Platform Style, Hitch Mounted 2-Bike Rack, part number SR2901LR. We'll begin our test fit by sliding the shank of the bike rack into the opening of the hitch. After lining up the pin holes we'll thread in our anti-rattle bolt, tighten it down using a wrench and then secure it with a lock on the the other side. With the bike rack secured we'll go over a few clearance measurements. We have about 18" of ground clearance. The closest part of the bike rack to the closest part of the vehicle is about 7" away and we've added about 26" to the overall length of our Cadillac. To access the cargo area we can remove the middle black pin at the base of the rack and tilt the mast out away from the vehicle. You can see when we open the hatch it does not interfere with the bike rack. So I'll load up a bike. more

We'll begin our test fit by sliding the shank of the bike rack into the opening of the hitch. We'll line up the pin holes and then allow the integrated hitch pin to fall into place. We'll then turn the black knob, which will engage the anti-rattle device, securing the bike rack to the hitch. Now that it's secured, we'll go over a few clearance measurements. We have about 16 inches of ground clearance. Closest part of the bike rack to the closest part of the vehicle is about two inches away, and we've added about 13 inches to the overall length of our Cadillac. more

We can now remove the gold pin at the top of the mast and swing the cradle arms of the bike rack outward. With the cradle arms out, we've added about 38 inches to the overall length of our SRX. more

Thule Hitching Post Pro Hitch Bike Rack Review - 2012 Cadillac SRX- Video
Today on our 2012 Cadillac SRX we'll be test fitting the Thule Hitching Post Pro, part #TH934XTR. We'll begin our test fit by sliding the shank of the bike rack into the opening of the hitch. We'll thread in our anti-rattle bolt and tighten it down using a wrench. With the bike rack secure we'll go over a few clearance measurements to see how the two fit together. We have about 15 inches of ground clearance. The closest part of the bike rack to the closest part of the vehicle is about 7 1/2 inches away, and we've added about 18 inches to the overall length of our Cadillac. We can now remove the gold pin at the top of the mast to swing out our cradle arms. more

Thule Helium Aero Hitch Bike Rack Review - 2012 Cadillac SRX- Video
Today on our 2012 Cadillac SRX, we'll be test-fitting the Thule Helium Aero Hitch-Mounted 2-Bike Rack, part number TH9042. We'll begin our test-fit by sliding the shank of the bike rack into the opening of the hitch. We'll allow the integrated hitch pin to fall into place and we'll then turn the anti rattle knob at the base of the bike rack to engage the anti rattle device. With the bike rack secured, we'll go over a few clearance measurements to see how the two fit together. We have about twenty one and a half inches of ground clearance at the rear of the bike rack. Lowest point on the bike rack is about sixteen and a half inches from the ground. Closest part of the bike rack to the closest part of the vehicle is about two and a half inches away, and with the cradle arms down, we've added about twenty inches to the overall length of our Cadillac. We can now pull the gray lever at the top of the mast and swing the cradle arms out. more

We'll being our test fit by sliding the shank of the bike rack into the opening of the hitch. We'll allow the integrated hitch pin to fall into place, and we'll then turn the black knob to engage the anti-rattle device. With the bike rack secured, well go over a few clearance measurements and see how the two fit together. We have about 17 inches of ground clearance. The closest part of the bike rack to the closest part of the vehicle is about 2 inches away, and we've added about 13 inches to the overall length of our vehicle. We can now lift up on the gray lever on the top of the mast and swing the cradle arms out. more

Softride Dura Hitch Bike Rack Review - 2012 Cadillac SRX- Video
Today on our 2012 Cadillac SRX we'll be test fitting the Softride Dura parallelogram tilting 4-bike rack, part number SR26247. We'll begin our test fit by sliding the shank of the bike rack into the opening of the hitch. We'll thread in our anti-rattle bolt and tighten it down using a wrench. With the bike rack secured, we'll go over a few clearance measurements to see how the two fit together. We have about 15 1/2 inches of ground clearance. The closest part of the bike rack to the closest part of the vehicle is about 6 1/2 inches away, and we've added about 37 inches to the overall length of our SRX. To load up a bike, we'll undo the cradle straps, place our bike into the frame cradles and then secure it with the straps. With our bike all loaded up, we'll go ahead and check for clearance access. more

We'll begin our test fit by sliding the shank of the bike rack into the opening of the hitch. We'll thread in our anti-rattle bolt and tighten it down using a wrench. With the bike rack secured, we'll go over a few clearance measurements to see how the two fit together. We have about 15-1/2 inches of ground clearance. Closest part of the bike rack to the closest part of the vehicle is about 11 inches away, and we've added about 16 inches to the overall length of our Cadillac. We can now loosen up the hand knobs on the upper left and right-hand corner of the mast to swing out our cradle arms. more

The closest part of the bike-rack to the closest part of the vehicle is about four inches away, and weve added about ten inches to the overall length of our Cadillac. We can now remove the black pin at the top of the mast and swing the cradle arms out. With the cradle arms out, weve added about thirty-five inches to the overall length of our SRX. more
