Roadmaster Even Brake 2nd Vehicle Kit Installation - 2014 Jeep Patriot

Today on our 2014 Jeep Patriot, we'll be installing the Road Master even brake second vehicle kit, part number RM-98400. Now to begin with, this vehicle already has a base plate kit installed on it, as well as the bracket to mount our breakaway switch. The first thing we're going to to is we need to mount our breakaway switch to the bracket on the base plate. To do this, we'll use the bolt and the nut that's supplied with the kit. You can see that there's a two-prong plug off the end of it. We'll then need to go ahead and connect the long black wire that has the same connectors on it. We'll need to route this wire into the vehicle's cab so it can be plugged into the transponder. more

Trailer Wiring Harness Installation - 2010 Jeep Patriot 118552- Video

Trailer Wiring Harness Installation - 2010 Jeep Patriot 118552

Today on this 2010 Jeep Patriot we are going to install wiring harness part number 118552 from Tow Ready and we are also going to use a 4-pole flat connector mounting bracket and we are going to use part number 118144 also from Tow Ready. For a quick overview what is going to happen is we are going to make our attachment points behind both tail lights and then we are going to run a 4-pole wiring harness down to the hitch and we are going to take our power wire and run it to the battery and we are going to run it up the driver side frame rail up to the battery. Lets begin. Open up the tail gate and start taking off the tail lights. When you take the attachment points off these are actually plastic rivets underneath here, the cap is kind of fragile so be careful when you remove it. Use a screwdriver to get it started and then use a trim panel tool to remove it. Gently pull it back a little bit, maybe wiggle it, and then pull it apart. At this point we can leave the light attached and then take off the other one. If you can it might be a better idea to disconnect the wiring harness from the light and put the light in the same spot just so it does not move around. 01:06 more
