Hi there, Chevy owners. Today on your 2017 Chevrolet Silverado 3500, we're going to be taking a look at and showing you how to install Torklift's StableLoad Suspension Enhancement System. These are available either in a stainless steel, which we'll be showing off today or a black powder coat finish. And this is what our StableLoads look like when they're installed. There are extra plates that are designed to go between your lower overload spring and your leaf spring stack, which will cause your overload spring here to be applying additional pressure onto your suspension sooner than it would be before. This is going to provide you with more support here in the back. It's going to help lift up your vehicle some if you are sagging down due to heavy loads here in the back. more

Hi there Silverado owners. Today on your 2017 Chevrolet Silverado 2500, we're going to be taking a look at and showing you how to install SumoSprings Rebel Custom Helper Springs for the rear axle. And this is what our SumoSprings look like when they're installed. They replace your factory jounce bumper and we'll attach right to that jounce bumper cup while the other end attaches to your axle, right on the perch for the jounce bumper used to contact. The big difference here is that the SumoSpring is significantly larger. So we're going to make contact much sooner than what our factory jounce bumper was as the jounce bumper from the factory is really just designed for when your suspension is bottomed out but this one here is designed to give us support throughout the load as it's being squished. more

Hi there Silverado owners, today in your 2017 Chevrolet Silverado we're going to be taking a look at and showing you how to install SumoSprings Rebel custom helper springs for the rear axle. And this is what our SumoSprings look like when they're installed. They connect between the rear axle and the frame to offer load leveling support throughout the back of your vehicle. What I like about the SumoSprings is that they are designed to work with one another to help minimize sway as well as jauntiness when going down the road, they're designed to compress up to 50% to provide you with a maximum of 5,000 pounds of load leveling support. Now you do want to keep in mind this doesn't increase the amount that you can carry, just how much the SumoSprings will help assist supporting. Before we begin our installation, we're going to go ahead and simulate a heavy load. We've got a water tank here with about 2000 pounds of water weight on it. We've got it on our trailer, hooked up to the back of our vehicle so we know we've got the back loaded down plenty good. more

Hi there, Express Van owners. Today in your 2019 Chevrolet Express Van 4500, we're going to be taking a look at and showing you how to install SuperSprings' SumoSprings for the rear axle. Before we install our suspension enhancements, we're going to hit our test course and we're going to see how our vehicle rides. Once we get them installed, we test course again and compare our results. We're going to start by hitting our uneven bump section here in our test course. And this is going to stimulate hitting a pothole, and it's going to get us rocking back and forth. Any kind of uneven terrain or rough surfaces you drive over can make the vehicle start to sway, and that can make it difficult to maintain control. more

SuperSprings Custom Suspension Stabilizer Installation - 2016 Chevrolet Silverado 2500

Hi there Chevrolet owners. Today on your 2016 Silverado 2500, we'll be taking a look at and showing you how to install SuperSprings 00:00:08 custom suspension stabilizer and sway control kit for factory leaf springs. And this is what our SuperSprings look like when they're installed. They will install above your factory leaf springs and they'll provide additional assistance for your leaf springs, acting just as in another lead spring plate. They perform similarly as an overload spring, but they do offer support pretty much throughout the entire travel. If our vehicle's unloaded, they offer minimal support so it feels very much like a factory ride height, but the more we load our vehicle down, the more this spring is going to work with our factory springs to provide us additional support which will help keep our ride height from dipping as much under a heavy load, and it'll also offer increased sway control during evasive maneuvers and when going over uneven bumps. Our shackle attaches our new spring to the bottom side of our factory springs, and we have a roller here down at the bottom that allows it to move as necessary as our spring flexes. more

Hi there, Silverado owners. Today on your 2019 Chevrolet Silverado 2500, we're going to be taking a look at and showing you how to install Airlift's Ride Rite air helper springs. Before we install our airbags, we'll take some measurements of our stock ride height. From the ground to the top of our fender well here, we're measuring about 42 and a half inches. Then in the front of the vehicle, we're measuring just under 40 inches, right at maybe 39 and three quarter, right around there. So here's what the bags are going to actually look like once we have them installed. Now, these are going to be a direct replacement for our factory jounce stops. And as you can see, just looking at the size of them, they are going to provide us a lot more support, purely because our factory jounce stops are going to be mounted to the bottom of the frame, and it's really meant just there to keep our frame from making contact with the axle. So whenever we get down too close, this'll make contact, preventing them bottoming out. more

Firestone Ride-Rite Air Helper Springs Installation - 2018 Chevrolet Silverado 1500

Ryan: How's it going Ryan here at eTrailer.com. Today on our 2018 Chevrolet Silverado 1500, we're going to be taking a look at and showing you how to install the Firestone Ride-Rite Air Helper Springs for the rear axle. Airbags are going to be beneficial whenever we're hauling a heavy trailer or even have a heavy load in the bed of our truck for a couple of different reasons. With the factory suspension, without airbags, with that heavy load in the back, the truck is actually going to sag in the back and that's going to lift the front end up higher, shining our headlights up potentially in other motorists' eyes and not on the ground down where we want them. And since our tires won't be sitting perfectly flat on the ground, those are also going to get worn out faster and we're not going to have such responsive steering and braking as we would whenever we're driving it stock. So what we like to do to get a feel for the improvement that our airbags are going to make is take measurements of the front and back of the truck, the factory suspension, and no weight. Then put weight in it, and then we can compare all of our numbers. more

So today on our 2015 Chevrolet Silverado 3500, we're going to be installing Firestone's Ride-Rite RED Label Extreme Duty air helper springs for the rear axle. It's a double-convoluted design, which has a higher burst pressure than your traditional design. The airbags sit between the frame and your axle to help provide load-leveling support. What's nice about airbags that sets them apart from other suspension enhancements such as Timbrens is the fact that it's adjustable. You can increase or decrease the pressure depending on the load you have to get the most optimal ride and braking and handling performance. There is some maintenance required. Air pressures will fluctuate with humidity and temperature, so you may have to adjust your airbags from time to time if you don't load very often to maintain the pressure. It's a no-drill installation. more

Today on your 2015 Chevrolet Silverado 3500, we're going to be installing timbren rear suspension enhancement system. And this is what our Timbrens is like when they're installed, they just replace our factory jounce bumper, but they're much more robust looking. To continue, they don't contact when the vehicle is unloaded, but it will contact right away once you put a little bit of load on it. The spring itself is designed to compress and the more it compresses, the stronger it gets providing more and more support. If you have a small load in the back to where it just barely touches, you're going to get some minimal support. It's just going to help smooth out your ride, reduce some sway and just be an overall more enjoyable experience. When you put down a large load, the springs going to really compress and start to swell. more

Hey everyone. Ryan here, at etrailer.com. This is what our airbags are going to look like installed under our Express van. Now these are really gonna help with these Express vans because many times they're weighed down. Either by a lot of passengers, or they're being used as a work van, which means that you're gonna be towing trailers or carrying heavy equipment. The way these are gonna work, is they're gonna sit in between our axle tube and our frame. Now when we put air in them, they're actually gonna help dampen some of that weight and relieve some of that strain and stress off of our factory suspension components. The bags are going to have a 5,000 pound load leveling capacity. more

They're going to maximize the load carrying capacity of our truck, increase stability, and improve ride quality, all so we can get down the road safely and be comfortable at the same time. Speaker 1: Today on this 2013 Chevrolet Silverado 2500 we'll be having a look at and showing you how to install the Firestone Ride-Rite Air Helper Springs for the rear axle, part number F2596.Now here's what our airbags look like installed. The reason you're gonna want a set of airbags for your truck is quite simple. If you're towing a heavy trailer, like in our customer's case, with a fifth wheel or you haul a lot of heavy wet in the bed of your truck, the back of your truck's gonna sag down. Now it's not gonna allow for your factory suspension, especially your shocks, to be able to absorb the bumps as you're driving down the road. They'll be more compressed and they won't be able to have full range of travel to give you a smooth ride. Also, you're gonna find out that as your back end comes down, you're gonna have less weight on the front of your truck because you're not gonna have the steering, the handling, the braking, and the safety that you're looking for. more

Speaker 1: Today on this 2017 Chevrolet Silverado 3500, we'll be having a look at and showing you how to install the Airlift Load Lifter 7500 XL air helper springs for the rear axle. Part number AL57538.Here's what our airbags look like installed. These airbags are going to allow us to support up to 7500 pounds of weight in the bed of our truck or towing a gooseneck or fifth wheel trailer with a high pin weight. This will maintain our vehicle's ride height giving us smoother braking, steering, and just a better ride down the road in general. Now when you compare these to other options these are a bump stop replacement option. They replace your factory bump stop here, which as you can see is quite small. When you're comparing these to other suspension enhancement options such as the Timbren bump stop replacement, you can see how much bigger the Timbren is over the factory one. more

Speaker 1: Today on this 2015 Chevrolet Silverado 2500, we'll be having a look at and showing you how to install the Timbren Rear Suspension Enhancement System, part number TGMRCK25D. What these are going to allow you to do is carry a heavy load in the bed of your truck, or tow a trailer with a high tongue weight without having to worry about the backend of your truck sagging down quite as much. These will help maintain your ride height and give you a smooth ride. As this bump stop starts to collapse in this ridge area here, it becomes stiffer giving you more support. And now we'll compare it with the Timbren to the factory bump stop. As you can immediately tell, it's much larger. This will give us more of a cushion to absorb the heavy loads that our truck is carrying or towing. more

Speaker 1: Today on our 2016 Chevrolet Silverado 1500, we're going to be taking a look at and showing you how to install the Airlift LoadLifter 5000 air helper springs for the rear axle. That's going to be part number AL57204.Typically, the reason who you would want airbags is because you're carrying a heavy in your truck bed like this or if you have a heavy load on your trailer. It's going to cause a lot of strain on your suspension and it's going to cause that back end to sag down. Now not only that, but it's going to wear out your brakes faster and potentially, since the back end's dropping down, it's going to bring the front end up which could cause major tire wear or unsafe alignment of your headlights blinding people when you're going down the road. Now the load we have in the back of our bed actually dropped the back end two inches down and it actually raised the front end a half an inch up. Which I can tell you by driving around, I could definitely tell there is a major load in the back and it just didn't really feel as responsive driving around. And it just kind of felt like the front end was floating. more

Speaker 1: Today on our 2016 Chevrolet Silverado 2500 we're going to be taking a look at and showing you how to install the Firestone Ride-Rite air helper springs, part number F2430.So here's what our air bags look like when they're fully installed. Now these are going to mount in between our axle and our frame here. And they're going to provide us 4800 pounds of load leveling support. Now our air bags are going to enhance our factory suspension for safety and stability when we're carrying a heavy load by keeping it level and preventing the sagging in the back of our truck, and keeping our headlights level where they're supposed to be. And they're going to help reduce tire wear and premature wear on our factory suspension components. Now since we have individual valves for each one of our air bags, they're going to be able to adjust independently, which is great because we're going to be able to maintain weight distribution with adjusting the air pressure individually for those times when we have an off-center load. Not only are our air bags going to help level out our truck, but they're also going to give us a nice, comfortable ride, absorbing some of the road shock and softening the contact between our frame and our axle preventing bottoming out.Now our air bags are adjustable from 5 to 100 psi. more

Now the reason you're going to want a set of airbags for your vehicle is if you're towing a heavy trailer with a high tongue weight, or loading a lot of cargo or materials in the back of your truck, the back of your truck is going to sag down, and it's going to cause some poor handling characteristics for your vehicle.By raising your suspension back up with the airbags this is going to cause your vehicle to drive a lot more like stock. These will allow you to support up to 5,000 pounds of weight. Now it's not going to increase your gross vehicle weight rating by 5,000 pounds, it's just going to help your factory suspension work like it was designed to.What's great about airbags compared to other options like the Timbren vehicle suspension enhancement that we have on our website is that these are adjustable. more

On the right side of the screen you will see the new airbags installed, you will notice as we go over bumps the airbags will greatly reduce the strain on the factory suspension while providing a much safer ride while leveling out your vehicle when loaded and prolonging the life of your factory suspension. This does not add to the overall weight your vehicle can support, but will help maintain ride height and stability when those loads are applied to the vehicle. So you do still want to check your vehicle's owner's manual and be sure you're not exceeding the capacities specified in there. The main reasons you're going to want airbags on your vehicle is if you're hauling some heavy loads in the back, and it's causing the rear end to sag. These airbags will keep the ride height at the normal value when under a heavy load. This is great because when you got a heavy load in the back it can cause your headlights to aim high as the rear sags, and the front pops up. more

Speaker 1: Today on our 2014 Chevrolet Silverado 2500, we're going to be taking a look at and also showing you how to install the Firestone Ride Right Double Convoluted Air Helper Springs for the rear axle, part number is F2596.Now if you're in the market for a set of airbags for your truck, it's probably because you've got a situation and something like this. Either you're carrying a utility trailer that's often loaded and it's causing vehicle sag, maybe you've got a gooseneck, a fifth wheel, in bed camper, any number of things. Just anytime we're loading down our truck, essentially what you're going to have is vehicle sag.The more of a load that we put on our truck, the more the rear ends sag. And when that happens we're taking the truck out of its normal operating range, we're putting excess weight on the back, that's going to make this rear suspension work a lot harder. When your lead springs have extra work to do, they're going to build up heat, friction, and eventually it's just going to fatigue quicker than what it normally would. Now we know the rear end sags, but we really don't tend to think about the front end very much. And there's a lot of things that happen that can be very detrimental to the ride quality of your truck when that rear end sags. more

Firestone Coil-Rite Air Helper Springs Installation - 2007 Chevrolet Suburban

Speaker 1: Today in our 2007 Chevrolet Suburban, we'll be having a look at and installing the Firestone coil ride air helper springs for the rear axle, part number F4108.All right, here's what our airbags look like installed. These airbags are a suspension enhancement option that's available for our suburban that will allow us to support an additional 500 to 1,000 pounds of weight depending on our application. Now, these won't give us an additional 500 to 1,000 pounds of gross vehicle weight rating or allow us to tow an additional 500 to 1,000 pounds of weight. These will just help maintain that ride height when we have a heavy load that we're towing or on the back of our vehicle by having the level ride height or factory ride height, depending on how you look at it. This will help reduce tire wear, help improve braking, and help keep our headlight angle at a factory location, thus maintaining our factory-like handling characteristics. Now that we've gone over some features, we'll show you how to get them installed. The first thing we need to do is get some measurements before we have any weight on our vehicle with the factory suspension in place. more

Speaker 1: Today in our 2014 Chevrolet Silverado 1500, we'll be having a look at and installing the Air Lift Load Lifter 5000 air helper springs for the rear axle. Part number AL57204. Here's what our air bags look like installed. These airbags will operate between five minimum PSI and 100 maximum PSI. They offer up to 5000 pounds of load leveling support. So what that means is if you're towing a trailer, like a gooseneck or a Fifth Wheel and you had a 5000 pounds pen weight, this will maintain your vehicles right hight up to that amount of weight. Also, if you have a heavy load in the bed of your truck like hauling a load of rocks or gravel, you can maintain your factory right height with that amount of weight. It's important to note that these airbags don't give you an additional 5000 pounds of load carrying capacity. more

Here's what our airbags look like installed. These are simple bolt-in installation, with no modification required to our vehicle at all. These will help maintain our ride height, keeping our vehicle's suspension working as it was originally designed, making for a smoother ride, also helping with braking, stability, and turning. Just keep in mind, these aren't going to offer us additional towing capacity or additional weight-bearing capacity. They're just going to help maintain our ride height and ride quality when we have a heavy load or a heavy pin-weight trailer on our vehicle. This doubled convoluted design airbag system will support anywhere between 5 and 100 PSI of air pressure. more

Firestone Ride-Rite Air Helper Springs Installation - 2015 Chevrolet Silverado 3500

Today on our 2015 Chevrolet Silverado 3500, we're going to take a look at and also show you how to install the Firestone Ride-Rite Air Helper Springs made for the rear axle. This part number is F2528. Anytime we're getting a lot of weight in the back end of our vehicle, whether it's from let's say a salt-spreader, maybe your fifth wheel or your gooseneck, as we get that sag in the rear end, not only does our rear end come down, but that front starts to angle upward. In the rear, we're going to have excessive friction building up in our leaf springs. Also with that heavy load in, those jounce bumpers are going to be hitting and making contact with the stop, which is going to cause for a rough ride. In the front, once that angle comes up, we're changing steering geometry, so our braking, our stability, our handling aren't going to be nearly as well, and we're also going to increase tire wear. Another side effect will be that our headlights are tilted upward, causing us to not be able to see the road as well as we should. Here's what your airbag kit is going to look like installed. more

Today on our 2012 Chevrolet Silverado 3500HD, we're going to be taking a look at and installing the Airlift Load Lifter 5000 Air Helper Springs for the rear axle, part number AL57338. Here's what this Helper Spring kit's going to look like once it's installed on the vehicle. What's really nice about these Air Helper Springs being able to help level out the ride of your vehicle with a heavy load is that when your vehicle's leveled out, it's going to keep your headlights level so you'll be able to see the road properly. It's going to help reduce irregular tire wear. It's going to improve braking performance because you'll have proper weight distribution between the front and rear wheels, and it will also help with side to side body roll, especially with a heavy load. It sits on top of the rear axle here and goes to the mounting plate that's up on the bottom side of the frame. This is going to help to support the rear of the vehicle when there's a load and that way the factory leaf springs aren't taking all of the load and these are able to help. more

It looks like here in the rear it's going to be forty-three inches to the inside of our fender well. Now let's check the front. Here in the front, we've got about forty. Now we've added in about two hundred gallons of water, just to simulate a heavy load in the truck. Now here in the back, we're looking at about forty and a quarter, so we've come down considerably. As you can imagine, this is putting some excess stress on our rear suspension system, excess stress on the rear tires. more

Now with about 2,750 pounds of water in the back in weight, we're going to see what our measurement is now. We're looking at about 40 inches. So we lost about 2 and three quarter inches of our height. Now let's see how it rides with the stock suspension.
