Draw-Tite Max-Frame Trailer Hitch Installation - 2021 Kia Sportage

Hey everybody, Ryan here at etrailer. Today on our 2021 Kia Sportage, we're gonna be taking a look at and showing you how to install the Draw-Tite class III trailer hitch receiver. So it seems like many of our Sportage customers use their SUV's to do a little bit of everything. So if it we're me, I would want a hitch that could handle, you know, pretty much anything you want to throw at it, and I think this Draw-Tite is going to do just that. So one of the big things I noticed that kind of separates this hitch from some of the others, is I think this one would be a better choice for those of you that plan on doing quite a bit of towing. Now that's not to say that this won't work well with hitch-mounted accessories like a bike rack or cargo carrier, because it will. more

Hey everybody, Ryan here at etrailer. Today on our 2021 Kia Sportage we're gonna be takin a look at, and showing you how to install the Curt class 3 trailer hitch receiver. So, it seems like our Sportage customer's use their SUV's to do a little bit of everything. So, if it we're me I would want a hitch to be able to handle pretty much anything you wanna throw at it and look good too. And, with this Curt set up here I feel like it checks both of those boxes. So the hitch, for the most part, is gonna be completely hidden, really the only thing you're gonna be able to see is, kind of, the center section hangin down so it really does do a great job of, kinda, maintaining that factory appearance. more

Clayton: Hello everybody, Clayton here at eTrailer.com. Here at eTrailer.com we install, test, and review a lot of different products to help you, as the customer, make a more educated decision before your purchase. Today we're going to be working on a 2021 Kia Telluride and we're going to be taking a look at, and showing you how to install, Curt's Class III Trailer Hitch Receiver. There might be a few different reasons that you're looking at putting a hitch receiver on your Telluride and one of those is going to be to, obviously, pull a trailer. But maybe you want to get some cargo out of the back of your Telluride and you want to use a cargo carrier or you want to take your bikes out for a trail ride and it's a lot easier to put them on a bike rack than it is to try to put them on the roof or disassemble them and keep them in the back.It looks really sharp on the back of our Telluride. We're not able to see any of our cross tube. The only thing visible is going to be our actual receiver, so it looks really sharp. more

Curt Trailer Hitch Installation - 2014 Kia Forte

Today on your 2014 Kia Forte, we're going to be taking a look at and showing you how to install CURT's 1 1/4" trailer hitch receiver. Now, this is what our hitch looks like when it's installed. You will be able to see the cross tube here at the bottom, as well as the receiver here at the back. But it does stay tucked up pretty nice where our cross tube is here, so it's really not that noticeable when you're standing up, you really have to get down here to notice it. And the collar here at the back has a nice reinforced collar on the end, that in my opinion is the best looking of all the hitches that go on the Forte. One of the things I did notice with this one is it does stick out a little bit further than the competitors as well, which means you're going to have greater clearance when inserting your accessories between the bumper and those accessories. With some of the models that fold up with it tucked in tighter on those other models, it may have contact with the bumper, whereas this one here, we've got that additional clearance, so folding it into the storage position is likely going to give you better results with this hitch. This is a class one, one and a quarter by one and a quarter receiver. So it's going to be great for all of your accessories, whether you're wanting to put a two bike platform rack in it and load it up with a couple of bikes, or maybe free up some space inside your vehicle by putting in a cargo carrier. more

Draw-Tite Sportframe Trailer Hitch Installation - 2014 Kia Forte

Hi there Kia owners. Today on your 2014 Kia Forte, we're going to be taking a look at and showing you how to install, Draw-Tite's 1-1/4" Trailer Hitch Receiver and this is what our hitch looks like when it's installed. Now, you will be able to see the cross tube across the bottom here and the receiver, but they are tucked up fairly well underneath, so when you're standing up looking at it, you really don't notice it too much, except the receiver at the back here. The receiver here doesn't have a reinforced collar though, and that does to me, kind of take away from the appearance of the hitch a little bit.The reinforced collar just gives it a more robust look, but it's still a Class I, 1-1/4 receiver. That's going to be great for your accessories, such as a bike rack. Maybe you can put on a two bike platform rack and load that up. That's going to be great and you could also put a cargo carrier in here, but you do want to keep in mind that you will likely not be able to load that cargo carrier up to the max, but you can get some of the gear that might be in the back of your vehicle, or in the trunk out, to free up for some more space. The tongue weight for this is going to be the force going down on the receiver. more

You can see that it's going to have a really clean appearance to it, almost a factory look, and that's because most of the cross tube is going to be hidden behind the bumper, and all we're really going to see is this receiver tube sticking out. Now, since it's a Class 1 hitch it is going to give us that inch and a quarter by inch and a quarter receiver tube opening, which is going to be great if we need to free up some space inside of our Soul, so we can put a cargo carrier on there, or if we need to transport some bikes we can put a bike rack in there and take our bikes to the trail. But, however we're going to use our hitch all of our accessories are going to mount to the hitch pin hole here on the side. It's going to accept a standard half inch pin and clip. Our connection point is going to be a loop style welded to the bottom of the receiver tube, and you can see we have plenty of room to get most size hooks on or off. However you're going to use your hitch you want to make sure it's up to the task, so the weight ratings, our hitch is going to have a 200 pound tongue weight, which is the maximum downward force of the receiver tube. more

Part number E98843.Here's what our hitch looks like installed. One of the first things you will notice about this hitch is that there is plenty of clearance around the receiver which makes this a great hitch to use for bike racks and cargo carriers which is what many of our customers are buying a hitch for their Sorento for to use with a bike rack. Now, even though we have plenty of clearance around our receiver, and the hitch itself isn't concealed behind the fascia, it does sit up nice and tight against it and follows all the lines of the vehicle nicely to give us a nice clean look. What really sets this hitch apart from others on the market is the finish of it. It has a matte black carbide finish which is much more durable than your standard power coat coating of a gloss black or flat black. It's much more scratch resistant and also is much more corrosion resistant. So you'll have nice looking hitch on your vehicle for a very long time.On the side of our receiver, you'll find our industry standard, 5/8th of an inch diameter hitch pin hole that you can use a pin and clip to secure your hitch mounted accessories. more
