Trailer Hitch Installation - 2006 Buick Lucerne- Video

Trailer Hitch Installation - 2006 Buick Lucerne

Today on this 2006 Buick Lucerne, we are going to be installing Draw-Tite hitch part number 36309. And this installation will also apply to Hidden Hitch part number 90140. OK, we are underneath the vehicle and we are taking a look at the driver side frame rail. We want to go ahead and point out the mounting location for the trailer hitch. The first thing that I want to note is that we do have exhaust here, right in the way of the frame rail. And on this particular vehicle, we do have dual exhaust. So, it is the same on both the driver and passenger side. We do need to lower the exhaust down. In doing so, we want to go ahead and take and remove the bolt at the rear portion of the frame here. And that is going to lower down the exhaust bracket. We want to do that on both the driver and passenger sides for dual exhaust models. Before lowering the exhaust hangers though, I do want to go ahead and put a support strap across the main exhaust tube here, at the forward side of the vehicle. The reason is, once you remove the exhaust off of its hangers, it could put additional strain on the forward exhaust hangers and possibly allow it to fall and damage the exhaust. 0:55 more

Trailer Hitch Installation - 2004 Buick Rendezvous

Today on this 2004 Buick Rendezvous we will be installing Draw-Tite hitch part number 36425. This installation will also apply for Hidden Hitch part number 90158. We are underneath the vehicle near the bumper, we are looking at the driver side frame rail. As you can see we have two large oblong holes at the end of the frame rail and we are going to be using both of those as attaching points for our trailer hitch. We will be placing carriage bolts and blocks up inside the frame and pulling it back down into position for both of those locations. That is going to be the same on the passenger side as well. If you notice further rearward we have this lip that is attaching the body to the bumper. We are going to be drilling four holes, two per side, to attach the trailer hitch to as well. What we want to do first is put the hardware into the frame, get the hitch up into position, and we will use the hitch as a template to drill those holes out. 00:47 more

Trailer Hitch Installation - 2002 Buick LeSabre- Video

Trailer Hitch Installation - 2002 Buick LeSabre

Today we are going to be installing Draw-Tite hitch part number 36309 on a 2002 Buick LeSabre. This hitch application will also apply to the Hidden Hitch part number 90140. Okay, underneath the vehicle, we are going to go ahead and take a look at the frame rails and point out the mounting location for the trailer hitch. Looking at the passengers side frame rail, you can see we have got the exhaust here that is mounted to this bracket here at the end of the frame. We are going to need to lower that down. The weld nut that this bolt is attached to, which is holding our exhaust bracket on, is going to provide our rear-most attaching point for the trailer hitch. And that is going to be the same on both sides of the vehicle. Our more forward attaching point we are actually going to have to drill. So what we will do is put the hitch up in position with our rear-most attaching point, and then we will use the hitch as a template to drill the hole out on each side. more
