So there is gonna be two different kits available. The one we have here has a six-way round connector and a cable that allows you to plug into the seven-way in the back of your motorhome. The other kit doesn't it come with this cable or the connector, just has a four-way flat type connector so if your motorhome has a four-way flat, you're able to just plug that right in. Hey everybody, how's it going Today, we're gonna be going over and shown you how to install the Roadmaster Diode seven to four wire wiring kit here on our 2018 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited. So, our diode wiring kit and our most basic form, it's gonna transfer the signals from our motor home to our towed vehicle. Now, the reason we need to do this is, it's gonna really allow us to remain up to code for all local state rules and regulations. So, while we're in our motor home and we're signaling to others, what we're gonna be doing, we're obviously not gonna be able to see the taillights on the motor home, or at least not very well for those behind you. Therefore, we need to transfer those signals over here to our towed vehicle. So, others on the road can see what we're doing. more

So our diode wiring is going to be one of the main components to our flat towing setup. This uses our factory brake light, factory turn signals, and taillight signals to keep us safe on the roadway. So our kid is going to allow us to use our factory wiring and it keeps all of our wiring contained inside of the vehicle so we don't have to use magnetic lights or any sort of other outside lights that are going to be sticking on the back of our Jeep. Our diodes are going to protect our Jeep's factory wiring from any backfeed that might come through our taillight signal so we don't have to worry about our taillights being messed up on our Jeep.In terms of installation, installing our diodes really isn't that bad. more

Hi there Jeep owners today, on our 2020 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited, we're going to be taking a look at and showing you how to install Roadmaster's Diode Wiring Kits. Now there are a few different kits available. The big difference between them is which kind of cable you'll get to attach from your vehicle to your motor home. We have a kit available with no cable, which is the one that we are installing today. But we also have kits that come with coily cables, which is ideal if your tow bar has no cable management. We have ones with straight cables, which is ideal for your motor home's tow bar has cable management so you can slide it through those channels unless we have a hybrid cable that is part coyly part straight and that's typically used in a setup where you have cable management, but maybe you need a high-low adapter and there's a extended length between your motor home and your vehicle, so you need a small section of coil to ensure we don't have anything dragging on the ground.There's five main components required to flat tow your vehicle behind your motor home, your base plate being one of the main ones for your vehicle here. more

Today, we're going to taking a look at the Hopkins Custom Tail Light Wiring Kit for Towed Vehicles on our 2018 Jeep Wrangler JK Unlimited.Now, our taillight kit for towed vehicles is going to allow us to transfer the lights from our motor home, so they come back on the taillights on our Jeep. So whenever we're flat towing it, people know if we're changing lanes, slowing down, or if we're just driving at night, they know that our Jeep is being flat towed.Now keep in mind, this is only going to be one component of a complete flat tow setup. Everything you're going to need is going to be a base plate, a tow bar, tow bar wiring, safety cables, and a braking system.Now the nice thing about our taillight wiring kit is it's going to use our factory taillights rather than having to use those magnetic lights. Now those do work, but obviously in our Jeep, there's not a whole lot of metal up here. The top is not metal, this part of the bumper isn't, so we'd be forced to put the magnetic lights on the side.And then we'd have to worry about running that wire down the side of the Jeep to the front, so we can get hooked up to the motor home. more

You'll need your tow bar, which is the connection between your vehicle and whatever you're towing, you'll need your safety cables, which is a supplemental connection in addition to your tow bar. Now you do want to keep in mind this is only going to be one component of a complete flat tow setup. For our Jeep, we're going to need a base plate, wiring, a tow bar, a braking system and safety cables.So we've got our Jeep hooked up to our motor home and you can see that our lights are working in unison and that's because our diodes are going to allow the signal from our motor home to be transferred to our Jeep's tail lights. That way we can safely and securely get down the road because whether we need to slow down or change lanes, we need to have the signals back here just like if we're towing a trailer. That way when we are going down the highway, we go to change lanes and nobody has to look past our Jeep to see the signal because it's going to be all the way back here at the very back.Now there are a few different options of getting those signals to the back of your Jeep. And I really think that diodes are going to be the best solution because we could use magnetic lights like a lot of us have seen in the past, but that's going to bring up a couple more problems. more

Roadmaster 4-Diode Universal Wiring Kit Installation - 2013 Jeep Wrangler- Video

Rob: Hey everybody, Rob here at etrailer.com and today we're taking a look at the Roadmaster Hy-Power Diode Wiring Kit on our 2013 Jeep Wrangler.Now if you want to tow your Jeep behind your motor home, you're going to need to have your lights, because when we're going down the road, just like when you're pulling a trailer, we need to be safe and let all the other drivers around us know what's going on. And whether that's we're driving at night we need to have our tail lights on, or we need to change lanes on the highway. We want to make sure those signals are getting to the back of the Jeep because that's going to be the furthest point back.And you can see the lights on our Jeep are matching what's going on on our motor home. And you can also see we didn't have to change any of the outward appearance of our Jeep. Because we do have the option of using those magnetic lights, but then the Jeep's top here is not metal. So we'd have to find somewhere to mount them, either on the side or on the bumper somewhere, and then we'd have to run the wire up to the front of the Jeep to the back of the motor home. more

Hopkins Tail Light Wiring Kit Installation - 2010 Jeep Wrangler- Video

Today, on our 2010 Jeep Wrangler, we're going to be taking a look at and showing you how to install the Hopkins Custom Tail Light Wiring Kit for Towed Vehicles.Now the purpose of the wiring is to transfer the lighting signals from the back of your motor home to the back of your Jeep. That's not only going to keep you legal, but it's going to allow other motorists to know what your intentions are as you go down the road. Now one thing I like about this kit is that it's going to have built in diodes, which are going to protect your Jeep's factory wiring if a short or an electrical issue we're to occur on your motor home side.Now the wiring is going to come pre-attached at the front end with a four pole flat connector. Now what I recommend doing, like we did on our Jeep, is actually upgrading to a six way round connector like we have here. And that's just going to give you a little more options to run other accessories like a charge line kit for example. more

Roadmaster Diode 7 to 6 Wire Coil Kit Installation - 2016 Jeep Grand Cherokee- Video

Hey everybody. Rob here at etrailer.com, and today we're going to be taking a look at the Roadmaster seven wire to six wire Flexo-Coil wiring kit. Now, if you do want to flat tow your Jeep behind your motor home, so that way we can get to the campsite and, go out to eat, maybe run an errand without having to take our motor home. But the problem comes in, we have to have those signals just like when you're towing a trailer so we can safely get down the road and make sure everybody around us knows what's going on, and the advantage of our diodes is that it is going to allow us to get those signals to the back of our tail lights, and it's going to use our factory tail lights and bulbs, so we're not going to have to worry about an extra bulb inside of our lens or using magnetic lights.Magnetic lights do work, but we're going to have to find somewhere to put them on our Jeep, run the wire up to the back of our motor home. And then while we're driving down the road that wire bouncing up and down, rubbing against the paint could eventually scratch it. And our diodes, as you can see, they're not going to change any kind of outward appearance of our Jeep. more

Today on our 2014 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited, we're going to be taking a look at and showing you how to install the Roadmaster Diode 7-Wire to 6-Wire Flexo-Coil Wiring Kit. When we want to tow our Jeep, we're going to need a base plate, tow bar wiring, the tow bar itself, as well as a braking system. Now specifically for our Jeep, we're also going to need an automatic battery disconnect, as well as a charge line kit to make sure our battery stays charged.Whenever we're flat towing our Jeep, it's going to be very imperative that our lights match the same as they do on our motor home.
