Hi there flat towers, today we're going to be taking a look at and showing you how to install Roadmaster's diode wiring kit on your 2020 Chevrolet, Colorado. The big difference between these kits though is the umbilical cord that comes with it. You're either going to receive a straight cable with them, which is ideal if you have a tow bar that has channels in it so you can run that cable through those channels. There's also a kit with a coily umbilical cable, and that's ideal if you don't have any channels because that coil is going to keep your cable up off the pavement so it doesn't hang down. It's going to give you that tension from the coils. Diode wiring is going to take all the lighting signals from your motor home and transfer them to the lights here at the back of the vehicle. So people behind you will know your intentions when going down the road. more

Shane: Hey everyone, Shane here with etrailer.com. Today I have a 2012 Chevrolet Traverse and I'm going to walk you through how to install the Hopkins Plug and Play Diode Wiring Kit for towed vehicles. Why we need a diode wiring kit when we're towing our car. Well it's simple, because we want to get the light functions from our RV transferred back to our vehicle so that everybody behind us knows what we're doing. Whether we're turning, braking or driving at night. What is the purpose of the diodes The diodes, what they do is they protect the factory wiring from any back feed from the motor home if there's a wiring issue, if there's a short somewhere and vice versa. more

Shane: Hi, everyone. Shane here at etrailer.com. Today, I have a 2012 Chevrolet Traverse, and I want to walk you through how I installed Roadmaster FuseMaster Fuse Bypass for 50 amp fuses. The reason this vehicle needs it is because, when the car is set up to be in tow mode, you have to have the key in the accessory on position to shift it into neutral. Today a 2012 Chevrolet Traverse, and I want to walk through how I installed the Blue Ox fuse bypass. Now, why would we need a fuse bypass for this vehicle In order to flat tow your vehicle behind your motor home, it requires you to pull two fuses. One of the fuses is a 15 amp fuse to your ECM. It requires it to be pulled once the vehicle is put into tow mode. An easy way to do that, rather than each time you want to tow your vehicle, pulling the two fuses out, or pulling that fuse out is to get a fuse bypass. more

Diodes act as a one-way check valve, so the electricity can only go to your lights, illuminating the lights. You can see here that we've got our hazards on and our motor home and the lights at the back of the vehicle are blinking just the same.Compared to some of the other options out there such as magnetic lights or bulb and socket kits. Roadmaster FuseMaster Fuse Bypass Switch Installation - 2017 Chevrolet Malibu

Speaker 1: Today in this 2017 Chevrolet Malibu, we'll be having a look at and showing you how to install the Roadmaster Fusemaster fuse bypass switch for towed vehicles, part number RM765121.Now, the reason you're going to want a fuse bypass for your Malibu is because when you're flat towing a Malibu behind your motor home, it does require the pooling of two fuses in your fuse box so your vehicle's battery doesn't become depleted. Because the transmission has to be in a neutral position, it can actually run down the battery while the fuse is being pooled. This will prevent you from having to open this cover every single time, remove the fuses, and when you get back to your destination, reinstalling the fuses in order for you to drive the vehicle. With the simple flip the switch down to the tow mode, it's like the fuses we're just renewed because it disconnects the switch. By flipping it up to drive, it's like you reinstalled the fuses because they are now supplying power to the fuse box, and all your accessories will work properly. To begin our install, we're going to locate our fuse box inside the passenger compartment of our vehicle. It's on the driver's side right here underneath our headlights switch. We'll remove our cover by using a flathead screwdriver to get inside this section here and popping it loose, and then our fuse box is behind it.Now, we need to remove our two fuses that need to be removed when the vehicle is in tow mode. We have number 10, which is this one right there, the 15 amp fuse. more

Roadmaster Tail Light Wiring Kit Installation - 2017 Chevrolet Malibu

Speaker 1: Today on this 2017 Chevrolet Malibu, we'll be having a look at and showing you how to install the Roadmaster tail light wiring kit for towed vehicles with an LED bulb and socket, part number RM-152-LED.Now, the reason you're gonna want bulb and socket wiring for your Malibu is if you're flat towing it, this is your only option as far as lights that are internal. You can't use diodes on the Malibu because it's a variable voltage system that powers incandescent light bulbs. If you wanted not to have that, your other option is magnetic tow lights.Magnetic tow lights, they're kind of a hassle because they actually can scratch the surface of your paint, and you have to find a place to store them when you're not using them. Bulb and sockets, especially these being LED, you don't have to worry about replacing the bulb. They should last the lifetime of the vehicle for you. So it's one less thing you have to worry about. It's a separate bulb from what your vehicle uses from the factory. more

The big benefit of the diodes is the fact that it's not going to change anything on the outside of our vehicle, and we're not going to have to set up those magnetic lights each time that we tow. It's going to be a one-time installation, that's going to tape into our existing wiring on our Equinox, so we're not going to have to deal with everything every time we tow.The nice thing about our diodes, that it is going to protect our vehicle wiring. It's going to keep any kind of back feeding or short circuits from happening that may arise on the motor home end.Our kit's going to come with everything you need to get it installed, including the diodes, all the connectors necessary, and the wiring. Now that we've seen the end result of our diode, let's show you how to get it installed. To begin our installation, we look on the front here, we have a spot to mount our electrical that's already on our baseplate. more
