Thule Roof Rack Review - 2017 Kia Soul

Today on our 2017 Kia Soul we're going to be test fitting the Thule AeroBlade Edge Roof Rack System, consisting of part numbers TH7602-TH7602, and these also come in black as part number TH7602B-TH7602B. And part number THKIT3146. The Thule AeroBlade Edge Roof Rack System is great for carrying a wide variety of accessories on your roof rack, and potentially freeing up space in your vehicle. It can carry anything from bike racks, to cargo baskets, to enclosed cargo boxes, and to some water sport carriers such kayaks and canoes as well as ski carriers. The way it installs it has a nice factory style look to it, and at the top here we have these rubber strips, and that coupled with the aerodynamic shape of the bars is going to cut down on wind noise and drag while you're driving. Our end caps here have this plastic piece that can be knocked out and replaced with a Thule lock core system, so once you have this installed it can actually be secured to your roof. Also, if we take off the end cap by peeling this out here you can see it has a T-track, so this roof rack is capable to use T-track accessories. Also this uses fixed points to install onto your vehicle. more

The Thule Podium Roof Rack System is great for carrying a wide variety of accessories, ranging from bike racks to cargo baskets to enclosed cargo boxes to water sport carriers or ski and snowboard carriers. The rubber strips in our bars, as well as the aerodynamic design, help with cutting down wind noise and drag while you're driving. Unlike the Thule Aeroblade Edge System, instead of having to remove an entire end cap to get to your T-track accessories, all you have to do is open that up, remove the strip and insert your accessories that way. Now, both podiums come with temporary plastic locks. more

The bars have a nice aerodynamic shape to them which is going to cut down wind noise and drag while you're driving, but they also have a decent carrying capacity as well because both bars have 220 pounds that you can put on there, but always double check with your vehicle's manual to make sure your roof can withstand that weight. This roof rack system is easy to install. You don't have to worry about hooks coming down into the inside of your vehicle. more

Yakima Roof Rack Installation - 2016 Kia Soul

Today in our 2016 Kia Soul we're going to be test fitting the Yakima Roof Rack system, consisting of part numbers Y00425, and these are the JetStream Crossbars, part number Y00148, and these are the SkyLine Towers for the Yakima Crossbars for fixed mounting points, and the part number Y00233, and these are the landing pads that the towers are actually going to sit in. We already have the front one installed and, as you can see, with the bars here, they have a nice aerodynamic shape to them, and that's going to cut down wind noise and drag when you're driving. Combined with the other bar, they're going to have a carrying capacity of 165 pounds although you will want to double-check with your vehicle's manual to make sure that your vehicle can withstand that kind of weight on its roof. Let's go ahead and show you how the rear one installs. Here on this table, we have the bars, our landing pads, and our towers, and all the hardware needed to put this on our vehicle. We'll first go ahead and remove the strip here in the bar. Normally you would remove the strip, then install the towers on either side and cut the strip to length, to between, so you know exactly what measurement needs to be each time, but for demonstration purposes, we're just going to go ahead and leave that out today. more

Today on our 2014 Kia Cadenza, we'll be test fitting the Thule Traverse Roof Rack System using Part Numbers THLV58, TH480, and THKIT1638. We'll begin our test fit by placing the front load bar onto the front of our roof. We'll need to measure 12 1/4 inches from the first part of the glass to the first part of our foot. We'll need to make this measurement on both the passenger and driver side of the vehicle to ensure the front load bar is perpendicular to the roof of our Cadenza. Once the front bar is in this position, we'll take the included tensioning tool to tighten down the black bolt inside the foot of our roof rack which is going to bring the clips up tightly against the roof line. Now when you're tightening it down, you'll need to alternate tightening it from side to side so that the bar doesn't favor one side of the vehicle. With the front bar secure, now we'll go ahead and place the rear bar onto the rear of our roof and measure the load bar spread. more

To position our front bar we need to measure 310 mm or 12-7/32 from the center of the door gap between the front and rear door, and the center of the front bar. Once we have our position set we can go ahead and tighten down the front crossbar assembly. We will move back and forth from drivers side to passengers side to tighten down the system evenly, and make sure that we dont lose our position. more

Rhino Rack Roof Rack Installation - 2006 Kia Sedona- Video

Rhino Rack Roof Rack Installation - 2006 Kia Sedona

Today on this 2006 Kia Sedona with factory raised side rails we are going to be installing a Rhino roof rack part number SXB3. We already have our crossbar assemblies put together so now we are ready to mount them on our vehicle. First we will set our front crossbar assembly up on the side rails. Before we start tightening down we are going to check to make sure the crossbar is overhanging evenly on both sides. We also need to ensure that the crossbar is running perpendicular to our factory raised side rails. To check this we are going to measure from the front end of our side rail to the leading edge of our feet on our Rhino Rack roof rack. We will make sure it is the same on both sides so that we know the crossbar is perpendicular to the side rails. Once we have checked all of our measurements and ensured the crossbar is into position we can go ahead and tighten it down. We will take the included allen key and move back and forth from the passenger side to the driver side tightening down the roof rack systen evenly. This will help ensure that we do not lose our positioning and that we do not have too much tension on one side or the other. As we tighten the allen head bolt our rack base will clamp onto the side rails and it will also lock onto our crossbars. Once we have the front crossbar tightened down we are ready to move to the rear of the vehicle. more
