RockyMounts MonoRail 2 Bike Platform Rack Review - 2022 Toyota RAV4- Video
How's it going everyone Ethan at etrailer here today to talk to you about the RockyMounts MonoRail on our 2022 Toyota RAV4. The RockyMounts MonoRail is a two-bike platform style bike rack that holds onto our bikes right here with the wheel hook, and another point of contact right down here with this wheel strap. So because it holds the bike by the wheel rather than the frame, it's gonna be a good bike rack for your carbon fiber bikes or your alternative style bikes because there won't be any frame contact like I mentioned before. And it supports up to 60 pounds per bike, so it should be fine for any of your higher range mountain bikes. Another thing I like about this bike rack is that if you come down here and pull this blue lever, it allows you to tilt the bike rack towards you and in doing so you can actually come around and access the cargo area. And as you can see, plenty of clearance. more

Hollywood Racks Destination 2 Bike Platform Rack Review - 2022 Toyota RAV4- Video
How's it going everyone It's Ethan at etrailer here, today taking a look at the Hollywood Racks Destination on our 2022 Toyota RAV4. How this rack's actually gonna hold onto our bike is by using these padded rotating cradles that also have a zip strip on the end of them, they rotate 360 degrees, and they can support alternative frames, but if you we're to have a carbon frame bike, it's something you probably wanna avoid. Our bike is then held on by two secondary points of contact at the bottom here, these straps, one goes through the front, one goes through the back. The bike rack itself doesn't tilt away, which is something you're gonna wanna keep in mind, but we'll go ahead and show you how the bike comes off. So you're gonna go ahead and release this back strap first, come around to the front side, release this other strap. And this is where it can get a little bit tricky with this one, because you're gonna have to hold the bike while you manipulate this, and for our mountain bike here, it's actually going through the cup holder, so it's something to keep in mind, is that it might not be the perfect fit for all of your bikes, but if you just bear with me, should come out eventually, there we go. more

Yakima FullTilt Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2020 Toyota RAV4- Video
How's it going, everyone Ethan with Etrailer here to show you the Yakima FullTilt Hanging Bike Rack on our 2020 Toyota RAV4. This rack will support five bikes up to 150 pounds total. So about 30 pounds per bike. One thing to consider is that it's probably not gonna be the best fit for alternative style and kids style bikes. And if you have a carbon frame bike, you probably wanna avoid any sort of use of this at all 'cause it's gonna be held solely on the frame here. Okay, so one thing that we're gonna note here is that once you take this anti-sway out of play, and I can't, it's not the easiest thing to get to in the world to be honest but once you get that out, you're gonna notice that the bike does move pretty good back and forth but gravity usually does its thing and holds those in place for the most part. more

John here and today we're taking a look at the Kuat NV 2.0 Bike Rack on our 2022 Toyota Venza. This is gonna be a great choice if you need to take your mountain bikes, your electric bikes, any kind of bike that you really need. Now, right off the bat, let's go over some of the specs so you kind of have an idea of what you can put on this bike rack. And there's not too many bikes that you can't put on. Whenever it comes to how it's being held, it's being held by the back tire here with the strap and then also, this hook right here, and it's gonna be pushed up right onto the bike wheel itself. So there's gonna be no frame contact, which means if you have any carbon frame bikes or odd shaped frame bikes, you're gonna be fine to have this on there. more

Yakima OnRamp E-Bike Platform Rack with Ramp Review - 2022 Toyota Venza- Video
John here, today we're taking a look at the Yakima OnRamp on our 2022 Toyota Venza. This is gonna be a great choice if you've got yourself some heavier bikes or maybe some electric bikes and you need to get them to the trail. This is going to have a 66 pound weight capacity which is really good. That's gonna take care of most of your heavier mountain bikes and your electric bikes. And the fact is it has a ramp system which is gonna be very useful and we'll show you that later. But let's say you have those heavier bikes, how are you gonna get them off your bike rack You could lift them off and that is a little bit tougher, but with the ramp system if you aren't as strong whenever it comes to upper body, you're gonna be able to still get those electric bikes off and get them on the road. more

John here and today we're taking a look at the Hollywood Destination 2 bike rack on our 2022 Toyota Venza. This is gonna be a great choice if you need to just get you and a friend out to the bike trails or just to go riding at the park or anywhere else you may need to go with those smaller and lighter bikes. Now, right off the bat, whenever it comes to how it's held, it's going to be held at the frame. It's three points. One that's going to be on the frame here, and then two on the actual wheels. So you're not gonna want to use your odd-shaped frame bikes, even though I will say, it does have a little bit of movement, which is nice, but it will not also be able to go on any of your carbon frame because it could damage it. more

Swagman Current 2 Electric Bikes Rack Review - 2020 Toyota RAV4- Video
How's it going everybody It's Ethan at etrailer here today to talk to you about the Swagman Current bike rack on our 2020 Toyota RAV4. The Current is a two bike platform style bike rack that holds onto our bike primarily by the frame hooks here and by a couple different secondary points of contact down at the bottom with our straps it's capable of supporting up to 60 pounds per bike. One of the things I like about this rack is the tilt away feature. Pulling up on this green knob lever in the back, tilt it down and that should give you plenty of clearance to access cargo hold in the back. As you can see, no real issues with that at all. Plenty of space to get in, change shoes, access anything that you might need from the cargo area and get back out. more

The Saris SuperClamp EX is a two bike platform style bike rack that holds onto our bikes primarily through these hooks here. The tire hooks on either side and two extra straps on the bottom. I really like the hooks themselves because they allow you for a wider range of bikes. They hold onto the tires themselves and not the frames which is really nice for alternative style bikes and if you want to avoid carbon fiber bike damage. The rack itself is capable of supporting up to 60 pounds per bike. more

How's it going, everyone Ethan from etrailer here, and today, we're gonna be taking a look at our Kuat Transfer on our 2020 Toyota RAV 4. The Transfer is a two-bike platform rack, capable of supporting up to 40 pounds per bike, primarily held here by our wheel hooks and one other strap in the back. I like the wheel hooks themselves, as they avoid any sort of frame contact. For example, with our carbon frame bike here, it's just nice to know that there's not gonna be any damages with that, as you're bumping along on the road. And in general, I think it's a pretty solid hold. Another great feature of the Transfer here, if you lift this hook away, you can use your foot actually to access this pedal. more

Hollywood Racks Sport Rider SE 2 Electric Bike Platform Rack Review - 2020 Toyota RAV4- Video

The Sport Rider SE is a two-bike platform bike rack, capable of supporting bikes up to 80 pounds each, held primarily by these frame hooks, and a couple of straps on either wheel. The frame hooks do hold the bike, like I mentioned, primarily by the frame itself. So if that's something that's important to you or if you have a carbon frame bike, you're probably gonna wanna avoid this type of rack, just 'cause it could potentially damage the frame while you're driving. So for your Toyota Prius V, you do have different options for hitch receivers. I currently have the two inch hitch on there, but I do see a lot of people with the inch and a quarter hitch receiver option. When you have that smaller receiver size, your options are limited for bike racks, especially the more premium ones. So this is a great option, because you have that inch and a quarter shank, the included two inch adapter, and you still have that dual wheel mount design and premium features, like locks and a slightly higher weight capacity. more

Hi there everyone. Today we're taking a look at the Hollywood Destination e-bike rack on our 2022 Toyota Venza. This is gonna be a great choice if you've got some heavier bikes or you have an e-bike that you want to get to the trail and you want to also be able to tilt it away and have all the premium features without having to spend an arm and a leg. Let's take a closer look. Now with a 70 pound weight capacity and a 50 inch wheel base this is going to be able to hold most types of bikes that you may have whether that be your bigger mountain bikes or if you happen to have an e-bike, which the name comes from it's going to be able to take that and which is really nice. What's up everybody It's AJ with etrailer.com. Today we're gonna be checking out the Swagman XC2 on a 2022 Toyota Highlander. It's gonna be a platform style bike rack, that means it's gonna hold the bike by the frame, so it does have this hook that comes down along the frame. Makes contact there, but it is padded, so you don't have to worry about it damaging the frame at all, I still wouldn't recommend putting carbon fiber bikes on there, but all the other bikes should be just fine. Let's take a second to look at how it sits on the back of the vehicle. It doesn't look like it's gonna cover up the taillights too bad, the tires cover up a small portion, you can still see it above there. more

So we have a platform style bike rack which means the bike's gonna sit on this platform. It holds it by the tire up front and there's a strap on the back tire helping hold the bike steady and in place, which since it doesn't make any frame contact, really opens it up for all the different style bikes it can actually hold. So you don't have to worry about putting a carbon fiber bike on here because it's not going to make contact, so no damage done. So the Ridgeback is known as a hanging style bike rack and there's two main types. Hanging style and we have the platform style. Now the hanging style are great because they're typically more cost effective than the platform style. And they're also typically a little bit lighter weight so they're easier to get on and off the vehicle. The platform style however, they're gonna be easier to load your bikes onto because you don't have to lift as high and they can carry some heavier bikes. more

This isn't gonna be great for a carbon fiber bike, just because we do have some frame contact and it's not gonna be for those heavier bikes either because the limit to this as far as weight goes is 35 pounds per bike but you can get four bikes on here and there's three different tie downs per bike. more

And when it comes to the fat tire bikes, if they are under 35 pounds we're still not gonna be able to put them on here because our cradles right here are going to limit us to three inches per bike. more

Hey everyone, Charles here at etrailer. And today we're taking a look at the Yakima stage two bike rack on the 2017 Toyota RAV4. So this is your front wheel mount platform style bike rack that's gonna let you carry up to four bikes but a quick thing to note before we talk about the features that make this premium choice is that the hitch has a weight rating and your vehicle has a weight rating so make sure you don't exceed the lower of the two. The closest two trays will let you carry up to 60 pounds per bike. And the further two will let you carry 40 pounds per bike. For our 2017 RAV4, we are going to be able to carry 37 and a half pounds per bike so that we don't exceed that limit. more

This is your platform-style bike rack, that's gonna let you carry up to 50 pounds per bike. The carrier itself is about 92 pounds, so if we max this out, we'd be looking about 300 pounds. Your hitch is gonna have its max capacity, and so is your vehicle. Make sure you do not exceed the lower of those two numbers. So, this is sort of a hanging style bike rack that can carry up to four or six bikes, depending on what you're carrying. We'll take a look at this on our 2015 Toyota 4Runner. Hollywood Racks Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2015 Toyota 4Runner- Video
Today, we're gonna be taking a look at the Hollywood Racks Sport Rider SE 2, on our 2015 Toyota 4Runner. This rack's gonna be for you if you don't have carbon fiber frame bikes. It is gonna have frame contact, and what does that is the frame hooks here in the middle. But, you don't really have to worry about it scratching up your normal type bikes, 'cause we do have one, a coated little hook right here, we're we also have an added protection right here. It's very soft, so it's not gonna scratch up your bikes. If you do have a step-through bike, all you need to do is use an adapter bar like this, to put in between your seat and your handlebars for that frame hook to lock down. more

Taking a closer look at it, it's gonna be a platform style bike rack which means it's gonna sit here on these platforms. I've got stadium style parts where you put the bikes, so you can see this one's a little more elevated than this section here. So, that's gonna help you make sure that the handlebars and the seats don't get in each other's way. It's gonna hold it by the wheel, so it's gonna really open it up for a bunch of different frame types of bikes that you can put on here. more

Hollywood Racks Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2015 Toyota 4Runner HR1450Z-85- Video
Today we have a 2015 Toyota 4Runner and we're gonna be taking a look at the Hollywood Racks Sport Rider SE with the cargo carrier. The Hollywood Racks Sport Rider SE is gonna be great for you if you have a mountain bike, a road bike and electric bikes, if they're under 50 pounds. Also we're gonna have a decent amount of space up top to load up a lot of our cargo up to a hundred pounds. The Sport Rider SE can either come with these cradles right here, which has a maximum of three inches in tire width, or you can grab it that already has the fat tire cradles on there. These are gonna accept five inch tire widths or you can just grab these individually to swap over one or two, depending on what kind of bikes you have. That's the main gist with this bike rack but we do wanna take it on the test course to show you how it's going to look and feel, whenever we're going on bumps and stuff like that. more

Yakima RidgeBack Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2022 Toyota RAV4- Video
Hey everybody, Ryan here ar etrailer. Today on our 2022 Toyota RAV4, we're gonna be checking out the Yakima RidgeBack Hitch Mounted Bike Rack. So the first impressions of it on the back of the RAV4, I actually think it looks pretty good, especially in this color combination. It matches nice, and it holds the bikes up about where I would want 'em personally. So not up so high where it's gonna completely obstructive the view out of the back window, but up enough to where you can kind of keep an eye on 'em. With that said, this particular rack can hold up to a total of four bikes, but if you need to carry an additional one, there's a five-bike version available. more

Thule Hitching Post Pro Hitch Bike Rack Review - 2022 Toyota RAV4- Video
Hey everybody, Ryan here at etrailer. Today on our 2022 Toyota RAV4, we're gonna be checking out the Thule Hitching Post Pro hitch on our bike rack. First impressions of the rack on the back of the RAV4 is I think it looks really good actually. And honestly, I think there's yet to be a vehicle that I've put this rack on and it, it hasn't looked good. Kinda has a timeless design almost if you ask me, and one of the best things about this setup is the simplicity of it. Very easy to use and live with and figure out. more

It's gonna be an e-bike bike rack and we're gonna be showing it to you on a 2017 Toyota RAV4. So since it's an e-bike carrier it's gonna be a platform style bike rack as well. You also get a ramp, it's pretty heavy duty. It's more heavy duty than the on-ramp one or the tool easy fold ramp where it has the three section folds up. more
