Yakima FrontLoader Roof Bike Rack Review - 2013 Kia Optima

Today on our 2013 Kia Optima, we'll be test fitting the Yakima Frontloader wheel mounted bike rack, part number Y02103. With the Yakima round bar roof rack system assembled onto our vehicle, we'll begin our test fit by placing the Frontloader directly onto our crossbars. Here at the front, we'll make sure that our clamps are around our front bar. Then we can use the hand knob on the front end to tighten our clamps around our front crossbar. Here at the rear, we'll bring our rear clamp around our rear bar, drop the t-bolt through the appropriate slot, and then tighten it down with the t-handle on top. With the front and rear secured, we can undo our rear wheel strap, and open up our wheel cradle at the front. We'll grab our bike, place it onto our bike rack. We'll secure it first here at the front wheel. At the rear wheel, we can simply tighten with the wheel strap. With our bike all loaded up, we're ready to go. That completes today's test fit for the Yakima Frontloader wheel mounted bike rack, part number Y02103, on our 2013 Kia Optima. . more

Thule Big Mouth Roof Bike Rack Review - 2013 Kia Optima

Speaker: Today on our 2013 Kia Optima we'll be test fitting the Thule Big Mouth Roof Mountain Bike Rack Part No. TH-599XTR. With the Thule Traverse Roof Rack System assembled on our vehicle we'll begin our test fit by placing the Big Mouth directly on to our load bars. Here at the front we'll bring our clamps around our front bar, fit the two slots through the clamp and use the wing nut on top to tighten it down. We'll do this for both clamps at the front of our carrier. Here at the rear we'll undo one of the wing nuts to bring our clamp around our rear bar. We'll feed the brackets through the bolts and then make sure both wing nuts are tight around our bar. Then we can undo our wheel strap and make sure our frame jaw is open. more

Swagman Upright Roof Mounted Bike Rack Review - 2013 Kia Optima

Today on our 2013 Kia Optima we will be test fitting the Swagman Rooftop bike rack, part number S64720. With a Thule rapid traverse roof rack system assembled onto our vehicle, we begin our test fit by placing our bike rack directly onto our load bars. Here at the front platform, we'll take a U-bolt and feed it around the underside of our load bar, well bring the U-bolts back up through the platform and secure it in place with two wing nuts. We can then repeat that process for the other side of the front platform. Here at the rear we'll drop the U-bolt through the top of our bike rack, making sure that U-bolt go around our rear load bar then we can fit our bracket through the bolts and tighten in place with the wing nuts. With the front and rear secured, we can go ahead and open up our frame jaws and undo each wheel strap. We'll grab our bike and place it onto our bike rack and we'll secure it first by bringing the frame jaws up around the lower part of the frame and using the hand knob to secure it. We'll then move to each wheeland tighten with the wheel strap.With our bike all loaded up we are ready to go. That completes today's test fit of the Swagman Rooftop bike rack, part number S64720 on our 2013 Kia Optima. . more

Speaker: Today on out 2013 Kia Optima we'll be test fitting the Swagman Fork Down Roof Mountain Bike Rack Part No. S-64710. With the Thule Rapid Traverse Roof Rack System assembled on our vehicle we'll begin our test fit by placing the fork down directly on to our load bars. Here at the front platform we'll bring our U-bolts around the underside of our load bars picking them up through the platform and securing them in place with the wing nuts. We'll do this for both U-bolts at the front platform. Here at the rear we'll take our U-bolt and drop it through the top of our bike rack. We'll fit the bolts through our bracket and secure it with a wing nut. With the front and rear secured we can go ahead and undo our rear wheel strap and loosen up our skewer at the front. more

Swagman Upright Roof Mounted Bike Rack Review - 2011 Subaru Outback Wagon

Today on our 2011 Subaru Outback Wagon we'll be test fitting the Swagman upright roof-mounted bike rack, part number S64720. We'll begin our test fit by placing the bike rack onto the vehicle's crossbars. We'll bring out our hardware to go underneath the front bar into the pre-drilled holes in the front part of the bike rack. We'll then thread on our black wingnuts and secure the front part of the bike rack to the front crossbar. We'll then move to the rear where this time we'll slide the sliver bracket down through the pre-drilled holes taking the black plate up on the underside of the rear bar and threading on our black wingnuts. We'll then tighten everything down to secure the bike rack to the vehicle. Now with everything all tightened down and secured we're ready to load up our bike. We'll double check to make sure our jaws are lose and we'll undo the front and rear strap. We'll place our bike up onto the bike rack maneuvering the frame hook up around the sprocket. Quick tech tip, if you bike has a very large diameter downward portion of the frame, it may not fit into the jaws of the bike rack. With our bike in place we can tighten on the black knob to secure the claws up against the bottom portion of the frame. We can then secure the front and rear tire with the red straps. Now that our bike is all loaded up that will complete today's test fit for the Swagman upright roof-mounted bike rack, part number S64720 on our 2011 Subaru Outback Wagon. . more

Swagman Upright Roof Mounted Bike Rack Review - 2014 Dodge Journey

Today on our 2014 Dodge Journey, we'll be test fitting the Swagman Upright Roof Mounted Bike Rack, part number S64720. With the Thule Rapid Crossroads Roof Rack system already assembled onto our vehicle, we'll begin our test fit by placing the carrier up onto the vehicle's load bars. We'll then pull out our hardware and bring the silver brackets around the underside of the front bar, up through the pre-drilled holes in the front platform. We'll then take our black wing nuts that thread onto the silver brackets and tighten them down, securing the front part of the bike rack to the front bar. With this done, we can then move to the rear and take our last silver bracket to slide down through the pre-drilled holes of the bike rack. We can then take the black plate to go up against the underside of the rear bar, then using our wing nuts to thread onto the silver brackets to tighten it down. Once everything is all tightened down and secured, we're ready to load up our bike. We'll double check to make sure our frame hook is loose and that our front and rear strap are undone. We'll place our bike up onto the bike rack, bringing the frame hook up on the underside of the bottom portion of the frame, being careful as it may be difficult to maneuver it around this bracket as well as the pedals. With the frame hook in place, we can then turn the black knob to tighten it down, securing the front and rear tire with the red straps. more

Swagman Fork Down Roof Bike Rack Review - 2014 Dodge Journey

Today on our 2014 Dodge Journey, we'll be test fitting the Swagman Fork Down Roof Mounted bike rack, part number S64710. With the Thule Rapid Crossroad Roof Rack system on our vehicle, we'll begin our test fit by placing the fork down directly onto our load bars. Here at the front platform, we'll bring the U bolt around the underside of our front bar, up through the platform, and secure it by tightening down two wing nuts. We can then repeat this process for the other side of the platform. Here at the rear, we'll drop the U bolt through the top of the bike rack, making sure it goes around our rear bar. We can then install the black metal bracket and secure it with two wing nuts. We'll go ahead and undo the wheel strap and make sure the skewer at the front is loose. We'll grab out bike and place it onto our carrier. We'll secure the bike first here at the front by dropping the forks down onto the skewer and tightening the skewer. more

Today on our 2014 Dodge Journey we'll be test fitting the SportRack frame-mounted roof bike rack, part number SR4611. With the Thule Rapid CrossRoads roof rack system onto our vehicle, we'll begin our test fit by placing the bike rack up onto the vehicle's load bars. We'll bring the rubber-coated brackets around the underside of the front bar up to the pre-drilled holes of the front platform. We'll then thread on our wing nuts onto the bracket and tighten them down, securing the front part of the bike rack to the front bar. Moving to the rear, we'll insert the black thick spacer in between the bar and the bike rack. We'll take our black bolts to slide down through the holes and take the rubber-coated steel plate to go on the underside of the rear bar, allowing the two black bolts to fit into the holes. more

Today on our 2014 Dodge Journey, we'll be test fitting the SportRack Roof Mounted Fork Mounted bike rack, part number SR4622. With the Thule Rapid Crossroads Roof Rack system assembled onto our vehicle, we'll begin our test fit by placing the bike rack onto the vehicle's load bars. We'll bring the rubber-coated black brackets around the underside of the front bar, up through the pre-drilled holes of the front platform. We'll then take our black wing nuts that thread onto the black brackets, securing the front part of the bike rack to thefront bar. Next, moving to the rear, we'll slide the black bolts through the pre-drilled holes of the bike rack, taking the rubber-coated steel plate around the underside of the bar and installing our wing nuts. Once everything is all tightened down and secured, we're ready to load up our bike. We'll double check to make sure the skewer is loose at the front, and we'll undo the strap at the rear. We'll place our bike up onto the bike rack, sliding the forks down onto the skewer. We can then adjust the skewer and clamp it down, securing the back tire with the wheel strap. With our bike all loaded up, that'll be complete today's test fit for this SportRack Roof Mounted Fork Mount bike rack, part number SR4622, on our 2014 Dodge Journey. more

Today on our 2006 Acura TL, well be test fitting the Swagman Fork Down Roof Mounted Bike Carrier, part number S64710. With the Thule aero blade roof rack system assembled onto our vehicle, well begin our test fit by placing the Swagman Fork Down directly onto our load bars. Here at the front platform, well bring our U-bolts around the underside of our load bar bringing them up to our front platform and tighten it with two wing nuts. Well repeat this process for the other side of the front platform. Here at the rear, well take our U-bolt, drop it through the top of our bike rack making sure that it goes around to our rear load bar, fit the bracket through the bolts, and tight them in place with the wing nuts. With our front and rear secured, we can now go ahead and undo our rear wheel strap and make sure that our skewer at the front is loose. Well grab our bike, place it onto our bike rack, and well secure it first by tightening our skewer and then move to the rear and tighten with the wheel strap. more

Today, on our 2006 Acura TL, we'll be test-fitting the RockyMounts TieRod Stretch roof-mounted bike carrier, part number RKY1011. With the Thule AeroBlade Roof Rack System assembled onto our vehicle, we'll begin the test-fit by placing the stretch directly onto our load bars. Here at the front we'll bring our rubber-coated straps around our front load bar, remove our black plastic cover and fit our straps back into the head of the carrier. Then we'll use an Allen key to tighten the Allen bolt which will tighten our straps around our bar. Once we have that done we can replace our black plastic cover, and then check to make sure the skewer is loose for when we're ready to load our bike. Here at the rear, we'll bring our rear bracket around our rear bar, drop the bolt through the bracket and tighten with an Allen key. With the front and rear of our carrier tight, it's secured our vehicle and we're ready to load our bike. more

We'll then move to the rear, loosen up the black wing nut to allow us to bring the rear bracket around the under side of the rear bar. We'll insert our silver T bolt into the slot of the bottom portion of the bracket and turn the black wing nut to tighten it down. We'll then move back up to the front and tighten down the black T handle to secure the front part of the bike rack to the front crossbar. With everything all tightened down and secured, we're ready to load up our bike. more

We'll then move to the rear and adjust the rear bracket to fitthe thickness of the rear cross bar. We'll again loosen up the wing nut and insert the silvert-bolt into the slot of the rear bracket. more

We'll now move to the rear, and this time, bring the silver bracket down through the pre-drilled holes of the bike rack, taking the silver plate to rest on the underside of the rear bar. We'll then thread on the black wing nuts to tighten it down to secure the rear part of the carrier to the rear bar. more

Today on our 2011 Subaru Outback Wagon, we'll be test fitting the Rockymounts Tierod Stretch roof mounted bike rack, part number rky1011. We'll begin our test fit by placing the bike rack up onto the vehicle's crossbars. We'll remove the black plastic cover at the front to bring the rubber coated steel straps around the under side of the front bar, we'll then hook them into the connection points and move to the rear of the bike rack. We'll loosen up one of the Allen bolts and bring the rear bracket around the under side of the rear bar using the included Allen wrench to tighten them down to secure the rear part of the bike rack to the rear bar. We'll now move back up to the front and again, using the included Allen wrench to turn the silver bolt to tighten down the straps up against the front bar. With everything all tightened down and secured, we're ready to load up our bike. We'll replace the black plastic cover at the front and double check to make sure our skewer is loose so our forks can slide down onto it. more

With a Thule Rapid Traverse Roof Rack System assembled onto our vehicle, we'll begin out test-fit by placing our TieRod Stretch directly onto our Roof Rack. Here at the front, we'll need to remove the black plastic cover. We'll bring our straps around the front bar, fitting them back into the head of our bike rack, then we'll use an Allen key to tighten down the Allenbolt, which will tighten our straps around our bar. Once we have the front tight, we can re-install our black plastic cover. Here at the rear, we'll bring our rear bracket around our rear bar, we'll drop the Allen bolt through the bracket and tighten with an Allen key. With the front and rear of our bike rack secured, we can go ahead and undo our rear wheel strap and make sure our skewer at the front is loose. more

Here at the rear, we'll take our U-bolt and drop it through the top of the bike rack, down around our load bar, and then we'll run our bolts throughour black bracket, and secure it with the wing nuts. With the front and rear of our bike rack secured, we'll make sure our rear wheel strap is undone, and that our skewer at the front is loose. more

Thule Big Mouth Roof Bike Rack Review - 2013 Nissan Frontier

Today on our 2013 Nissan Frontier we'll be test fitting the Thule big-mouth roof-mounted bike rack, part number TH599XTR. With the Thule Rapid Traverse roof rack system already assembled onto our vehicle we'll begin our test fit by placing the bike rack up onto the vehicle's load bars. We'll then bring the front two brackets on the underside of the front bar and hook in the T-bolts into the designated slots. We'll then move to the rear, remove one wingnut to make the rear bracket go on top of the bar. We'll then move back up to the front making sure our T-bolts are still in position and turn the black wingnuts to secure the front part of the bike rack to the front bar. With everything all tightened down and secured we're ready to load up our bike. We'll undo the front and rear wheel strap and we'll undo the black lever which controls the jaws. We'll place our bike up onto the bike rack maneuvering the frame clamp up or on the sprocket and on the bottom portion of the frame. We'll then clamp down the black lever to secure the jaws to the bike frame. We'll then secure the front and rear tire with straps. And now that our bike is all loaded up that will complete today's test fit for the Thule big-mouth roof-mounted bike rack, part number TH599XTR, on our 2013 Nissan Frontier. . more

The the Yakima roundbar roof rack system assembled onto our vehicle, we'll begin our test fit by placing our front loader directly onto our crossbars. We'll go ahead and fit the front and rear clamps around each bar. Then here at the front, we'll tighten the T handle until our handle is tight around our front crossbar. Now, we'll move to the rear and drop our T bolt through the appropriate slot and tighten with a T nut on top. We'll want to make sure that we get that all the way tightened down. With our front and rear clamps secured, we can then open the wheel loop at the front of our carrier and undo the rear wheel strap. more

With everything all tightened down and secured, we're ready to load up our bike. We'll undo the straps at the front and rear of the bike rack, and double check to make sure our jaws are loose. more

With the Thule Traverse Roof Rack System on our vehicle we'll begin our test fit by placing the Big Mouth directly onto our load bars. Here at the front we'll bring our brackets around our front bar, fit the T-bolts through the slots and tighten with the wing nuts on the top. We'll do this for both sides at the front of our carrier. At the rear we'll remove one of the wing nuts and bring our bolts around our rear bar. We'll drop it through the bracket and secure it by tightening down each wing nut. more

With everything all tightened down and secured we're now ready to load up our bike. more

With that done, we'll move to the rear and adjust the rear bracket around the underside of the rear bar, insert the silver T bolt, and tighten down the black wing nut. We'll then move back up to the front to tighten down the black T handle to secure the carrier to the vehicle. We're now ready to load up our bike. more

Then we can place on our black bracket feed it through our U-bolt and tightening it place with the two wing nuts. more

Well double check to make sure the securer is loose at the front and well undo the strap of the rear. Well place our bike on to the bike rack, slide in the forks down on to the securer. more

With the Thule square load bar system assembled on to our vehicle, well begin our test fit by placing the big mount directly on to our load bars. Here at the front, we need to bring our front brackets around our front bar to fit the T-holes in their appropriate slot and then tighten the wing nuts on the top of the platform. Well do this for both clamping system then our form platform. Here at the rear, well undo both wing nuts and remove the clamp. Well bring our two bolts around our rear bar, reinstall the black metal clamp and secure it in place with the wing nuts. more

Once we have the brackets in place, we can then use the Allen key to tighten down the Allen bolts to bring the brackets up tightly around the load bars. Once everything is secure and tightened down, we're ready to load up our bike. more

Today on our 2013 Kia Sportage, well be test fitting the Swagman Fork Down Roof-Mounted Bike Rack, part number S64710. We'll begin our test fit by placing the bike rack onto the vehicle's crossbars. We will then bring out our hardware starting with the front well take the silver bracket to go in underside of the front crossbar and insert them into the pre-drilled holes at the front of the bike rack. We will then thread on our black wing nuts and repeat these steps for the other side.We will then move to the rear, where this time we will just slide the silver bracket down through the predrilled holes in the bike rack and bring the black plate up against the underside of the rear crossbar, again using the black wing nut to tighten it down. We will then make sure all of the wing mats are fully tightened down and were ready to load our bike. We will double check to make sure our skewer is loose at the front and will undo the strap.We will place our bike onto the bike rack, sliding the forks down onto the skewer. more

Once everything is all tightened down and secured we're ready to load up our bike. We'll replace the black plastic cover at the front and double check to make sure our skewer is loose so our forks can slide down onto it.We'll undo the tray straps at the rear and place our bike onto the bike rack. more
